Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Infiltration Begins

It's time. We all have a mission. Mine may be different from the rest, but we're going to do our best to achieve our objectives.

The day of our departure was announced last week. Just yesterday, I made a speech to the people. A moment of clarity, honesty, and unity:

"My people, as promised, I have come to protect every man, woman, and child on this planet. I won't stand here and pretend my motivation is selfless. I'm doing this for someone very important to me—my mother. She's all I have left, and if protecting her means sacrificing my life, then so be it. Just like every one of our heroes behind me, I am willing to give everything for those I love. Please keep us in your prayers. We will not let anyone take our home. Earth is ours, isn't it? Say it with me: 'Earth is ours!'"

The day has come.

Our flight will be broadcast worldwide as all nations witness the Coalition of Continents, led by Africa. The people waited, cheering as we launched from the heart of Egypt. It was a breathtaking sight—our task force taking to the skies, flying at Mach 5 with only 25% of our new thrust boosters engaged. The upgrades to our Luka suits have been monumental.

Due to their complexity and raw power, restrictions have been placed on the suits used by less experienced soldiers. Only in emergencies are these caps overridden.

Upon reaching space and passing the moon, I initiated the warp machine. Though I told the public our tests had been a success, they had only covered short distances. This mission was far more dangerous. If anything went wrong, we could lose lives.

A total of 40 highly trained operatives boarded the jump ship. We warped near the atmosphere of a known exoplanet: Solara V.

Solara V is slightly larger than Earth, with a gravitational pull 1.2 times stronger. It has two moons and a rich blue-green biosphere. From orbit, it resembles Earth in its early golden age. Its atmosphere is breathable, though laced with heavier oxygen content. We had scouted the planet's orbital traffic—they already have a network of small interplanetary ports.

We intercepted a signal and acquired an abandoned junction craft. Using it, we masked our descent, cloaking the ship to appear like a returning patrol unit.

Our infiltration began.

We split into three main divisions:

The Recon Team — tasked with gathering intelligence on the planet's layout, technology, infrastructure, and civilian behavior.

The Sociopolitical Analysts — trained to understand and interpret the culture, leadership structures, and subtle cues to gain leverage without exposing ourselves.

The Shadow Operatives — elite agents who would embed themselves into Solara V's society, even families, blending in and awaiting further instructions.

I placed myself in the third group.

As the leader, I had to lead from the front. I aimed to rise through their military ranks and get close to their royal family—yes, they have one. The objective: gather intel on their leadership and assess if they pose a threat.

We underwent intense masking protocols, both physically and behaviorally. Every operative had to pass rigorous adaptability trials. For the next two Earth months, we will live among them, watching, learning, and preparing.

Solara V may look peaceful, but first impressions can lie. If war is inevitable, I need to be one step ahead. But deep down, I wonder...

What if they're just like us?
