Magic is the act of using energy contained in so-called Mana particles to enact your will on reality. Mana particles are present everywhere and can be stored in the Mana cores of every being. They are typically located in the heart. Different people have different mana capacities. It can be increased by training or raising your intelligence skill.
To regenerate Mana, one needs a mana breathing technique. Typically, every being starts with one: simple breathing. It is possible to create new mana breathing techniques by oneself. This is, however, incredibly difficult and can take many years. This is why Technique Books are very valuable. They are typically found in Dungeons and give users access to a new breathing technique. Technique books are also ranked.
There are three types of magic: Creation, Manipulation, and Destruction.
Creation Magic, as the name implies, creates matter from the energy stored within the Mana Core. A good example is setting something on fire. Creation Magic uses a lot of energy.
Manipulation Magic, as the name implies, manipulates existing matter or forces. One example would be slowing down something that is falling from the sky.
Destruction Magic is very hard to use and uses a lot of energy. It enables a being to destroy magic or matter. In truth, destruction magic does not destroy it but annihilates it into subatomic particles, including mana.
One's proficiency in a school of magic is measured in the Level, with Level 0 being the standard and Level 10 being only achieved by Gods.
Creation and Manipulation Magic often use certain elements such as wind or earth to achieve the will of the user because the user also thinks of the way they want to achieve something, and they either take inspiration from nature or another person.
On the other hand, Valor uses the inherent power of body and soul to increase martial prowess. There are strengthening and acceleration techniques.
Strengthening techniques can be used in multiple ways. You can strengthen your skin and make it as hard as metal to improve defensive capabilities, or you could give your sword swing more power to improve its offensive capability.
Acceleration techniques, as the name implies, let the user accelerate parts of their body. They can increase their speed or even, with certain techniques, increase their thinking speed.
Techniques are different in the way they use the power of body and soul to strengthen or accelerate the body. It is also possible to create technique on one's own, but this is also very difficult and can be a significant risk to both body and soul.

Gifts are random abilities granted randomly, by heritage, by certain actions, or soulbound equipment.
Religions say gifts are blessings given by their respective God, while science claims they are randomly occurring spells by the universe that change the genetics of gift-bearers.
Despite the stats page only showing three slots, a being can have an unlimited amount of gifts.
The best crafters of the world can equip spells in equipment such as swords or armor. Such equipment is called magical and incredibly valued. Magical equipment can also be found in dungeons.
