The meeting with Omega played over and over in his head. She was so comfortable threatening him.
"Hey Veronica, do you know why my family wants me dead?" Desmond questioned.
[Your stepmother hates the fact that you were born. You are not a full-blooded noble that makes you a disgrace to the family in their eyes. Then there is the fact that the kind of magic you use is seen as weak. Nobles want to portray strength and you using puppet magic is seen as cowardly and pathetic in the eyes of all the noble houses.]
Realizing that they want him dead over things he can't control only made his anger grow. He didn't decide on his magic type. He didn't choose to be born. Hell up until a couple days ago he wasn't even in living in this world.
"So, Veronica what can you tell me about Desmond Bloodheart?"
[Before you came to this world Desmond was an evil person. He was selfish and arrogant. Even though he lives amongst the staff he treated them terrible. He was an awful person all around. That's why you were giving this chance. Your spirit reading and the other Desmond's were compatible. So, you were sent here, and the Desmond was sent into your dying body.]
His head was starting to hurt again. All of this is too complicated. He just wants to go back to his simple life working at the steel plant. Everything was easy then. Go to work come home. Pay his bills. Take his insulin. None of this complicated family situations. None of his family on Earth wanted him dead.
His conversation with Veronica made his resolve grow. He'll burn everything they love to the ground.
"An eye for an eye tooth for a tooth." Desmond thought to himself.
He doesn't believe in turning the other cheek. In his mind turning the other cheek would truly make him weak. Someone doesn't just get to try to take his life and walk away. They'll beg for forgiveness before he is done.
[Desmond, you need to get stronger]
"I know that. But how am I suppose do that?"
[Start by using Orbit more and more.]
"Orbit"
His puppet materialized in front of him. He sent Orbit outside the window.
People walked outside the guild building. Through Orbit he could hear every conversation. He could see their clothes. He could see facial scars. Orbit floated over merchant stands. Food, weapons, and clothes filled the stalls. Smiles and laughs echo. This world seems slower than Earth. People seem happier. Back on Earth everyone was stressing over something. It might be bills it could be family issues. But here smiles seemed to grace everyone's face.
[Desmond, you have been using Orbit for about 8 minutes.]
His eyes were starting to get heavy. His head swayed from side to side. He was fighting to remain conscious. 9 minutes have passed. 10 minutes went by. He made all the way to 12 minutes before he passed out. He wasn't out as long as last time. It was early morning when passed out. He woke up sometime in the afternoon. His eyes still felt heavy.
He went back down the stairs. There he Romdar and his wife. Romdar towered over his wife. She was easily 5'4 beautiful long black hair. She had six piercings on each ear. Romdar had a blue substance splattered across his shirt. Jynx had the same blue substance on her clothes. The smell coming from it was awful. The smell was making his eyes water. It is taking all his willpower not to vomit.
Jynx eyes were filled with tears. Desmond opened up about his situation. She just couldn't fathom why his family wanted him dead. As a parent herself she just couldn't imagine hating her child. Jynx wrapped her arms around Desmond. She squeezed him tightly.
"I'm sorry about the smell damn Howler blood is the worse." Jynx said.
"Howler?" Desmond thought making a mental note.
The guild building door flew open. It slammed against the wall behind it. The door hit with such force it put a hole in the wall.
A man covered in emerald armor stood at the opening. Next to him was a woman. A bow on her shoulder and quiver poking out from behind her.
Romdar's faces told a story of pure rage.
"You're going to pay for my wall." Romdar his tone low but commanding
"I'm not paying for some cheap Bronze Guild's building. If you were ranked so low maybe you could afford a hall."
"Oh, really?" Romdar smirked. Desmond could tell there was evil intentions behind that smile.
His hands dug through his pockets. Romadar pulled out a pair of black gloves. Romdar's hand slammed into the other man's face. The punch had should force three of the other guy's teeth went flying. His companion attempted to step in, but Jynx subdued her easily.
The crowd cheered as Romdar dragged the man from the building. Jynx approached the woman.
"You burst in here and caused the damage to our wall. You are going to pay or my husband will strip that armor off of him and make him swallow it piece by piece. Then whatever your friend doesn't swallow I will shovel down your throat." Jynx said placing her hand on the archer's shoulder.
Jynx was completely different person than she had been a few minutes ago. She seemed cold and ruthless. Sweat dripped the archer's face.
The tiny archer pulled her coin pouch off her waist. She placed the coins in Jynx hand and ran to check on her friend. He hadn't moved since Romdar punched him. His teeth had scattered. They didn't bother searching for them.
Romdar and Jynx returned to Desmond. They were back to being warm and welcoming. Honestly, it was scary how fast they switched.
"Sorry about that. Members of the higher rank guilds are always coming in here starting trouble. They also go after our members in the hunting grounds and dungeons." Romdar said.
"I thought fighting in a guild building was illegal." Desmond said looking for clarification.
"It is which is why I had him say out loud he refuses to pay for the wall he damaged by kicking my door. I have every right to defend my property." Romdar responded with a conniving grin.
Romdar gave everyone a free round of beer. Cheers and laughter echoed throughout the guild building. People loved Romdar and Jynx. All the cheering was cutting short.
A gut-wrenching scream came from outside. There was another sound Desmond had never heard before. From the look everyone else face that sound was something to feared. Just about everyone in the building had broken out in a cold sweat. Guild members were grabbing their gear. It seemed like they getting ready for something.
The sound came crashing against his ear drums again. It was as loud as an explosion. It sounded like screech.
A body of man came flying through the stain glass window. His body was battered and broken. His leg was broken. His face was covered in claw marks. His clothes were torn. Blood flowed from the body like a never-ending waterfall.
He wants to turn and run. Legs won't move. Hands are clammy. Sweat rolled down the back of his neck. Then he heard it another cry coming from outside. This time there was an actual word.
HOWLER!!!!!!!
