A/n: So, maybe not within a week but seriously, I'm really motivated to write this story, so I'll continue until the motivation runs out or something. Oh yeah, funny Omake last chapter, I did watch the Minecraft movie, it's bad that it's good. Meh. Anyway. Enjoy. Peace.
…
The conversation was enlightening. You could say that while I knew much about RWBY, I didn't have a perfect memory. Ozpin talked very much about his situation and how it was going, the war against Salem, and Beacon's unfortunate problems, which I resolved by accepting the offer to become the Combat Instructor.
Not to mention my own problem was solved as well, I made a contract with Ozpin. Since he was the only one with magic that was readily available, I didn't mind particularly. Despite what people believed him to be, he wasn't that terrible. Sure, he did very questionable stuff and would do so in the future, but can you blame him?
The man has been fighting a long, very long war against Salem. Despite what he thought of himself, he slowly lost the will to continue this war. Many people were sacrificed for his cause, deaths that were ultimately useless as Salem still lived—forever cursed to have immortality and Ozpin the curse of reincarnation to match that.
It affected him, no matter how much he continued to pursue his ultimate goal.
The contract with him is enough to keep me stable in the world. I didn't notice earlier in the day, due to Independent Action, but I was slowly disappearing. Within two days, I'd disappeared without a single trace. However, the contract was active despite Ozpin's magic dwindling and has been degrading due to his many reincarnations.
Now that I had free time, I was staying in a room meant for teachers, my mind went to my situation. In the elevator of Beacon Tower, I took a tiny view of it, confirming an important point. I held (my) Shirou Emiya's body, tracing a nameless sword like before. It was a basic sword, made by an average blacksmith meant for the common soldier.
With a thought, the sword disappeared into blue particles, the sword was gone. I felt excitement but it was soon replaced by sadness as the situation dawned on me. I'd been transmigrated to RWBY with (my) Shirou EMIYA's body, and his memories. My memories of my life are still in my mind along with the rest of (mine) Shirou's.
It was forced into my mind, but the memories seemed natural like they'd always been there. I wasn't sure if I had become into or was becoming into Shirou Emiya, or even a mix. To my hope, I was able to differentiate myself from Shirou. I am Raul Vazquez, a 26-year-old male who works as a Drone Operator for a drone company.
Despite that, the differences between me and Shirou had changed me. I was more jaded than before, a bit more cynical than before, and my morals were altered to be less good than before. This was the Counter Guardian, Shirou Emiya, and the horrors of his life were in my mind. It was no surprise he turned out like he was portrayed.
Even so, memories of my life as Raul still held the reign over me, and I wouldn't become EMIYA. I didn't want to become the broken man he was, striving for an impossible dream that drove him to such lengths. The earlier conversation with Ozpin still rang through my mind, and the future that would come from it was a different but new one.
…
"Let's talk about the obvious here, you, Mr Emiya. You're a magical being, despite appearing otherwise and radiating no magical energy. Still, I sensed you within the Beacon campus, admittedly, I thought of you as an enemy at first." Ozpin's stern tone told Shirou all he needed to know, he was sensed as a threat.
He continued to listen as Ozpin went on more, "While I was worried, no destruction or anything amiss happened. There was a chance you were a spy, but you dispelled that notion when you answered me. For that, I'm grateful." The look on Ozpin's face was that of gratitude and relief. After Ozpin finished speaking, Shirou began talking himself.
"You're correct, I am not human, rather, you can call me a Heroic Spirit. A Heroic Spirit is someone who has accomplished great deeds and has since been immortalized by or in history. A hero you could say." Ozpin had stiffened at the mention of heroics and the impact of it. He began to think about his previous lives, would that qualify him?
"If I'm frank, I know who you are, due to a special ability of mine." Ozpin's brows narrowed along with his eyes, his body tense. "Your weapon, The Long Memory contains parts that I can read, your history to be exact." Shirou began recounting Ozpin's many, many lives. From when The Long Memory was created to now, in his current life.
This shocked Ozpin immensely, all the lives he lived through recounted. When Shirou finished recounting, Ozpin noticed Shirou hadn't mentioned when he was Ozma and the lives before The Long Memory was created. He began telling that side, the war between himself and his ex-wife, Salem. Alongside, citing his earlier question, stating the Maidens were real.
Of course, Shirou knew but Ozpin didn't know that and hadn't bothered explaining magic. Ozpin was talking to a magical being after all. Once more, their conversation continued, eventually resting on Shirou's main issue. He still needed to make a contract, otherwise he'd disappear and he didn't want that to happen.
"As you know, I'm a magical being," Ozpin nodded. "Due to that, I need to have a magic supply from someone, otherwise I'd disappear." The face on Ozpin fell, noting a grim look. "You're the only one available here, as you said earlier, two of the Maidens are unknown. The Winter Maiden is in Atlas, while the last is roaming around in Mistral."
"You wish for me to act as your supplier, your Master as you explained before?" Shirou nodded. "Very well, I'd hate for someone like you to disappear, especially since I can fix that." A contract between the two was formed, Ozpin being the Master and Shirou being the Servant Archer. With his situation now under control, came Beacon's problem.
The previous Headmaster, unfortunately, died a week before Beacon's classes would start. Due to that, the occupation was left vacant when Ozpin took over. However, that also left his previous position, Combat Instructor, empty as the new school term start was near. As Shirou was now anchored to Ozpin, an idea involving his new Servant was made.
"As you now know the problem, would you be willing to be the Combat Instructor?" Despite being his Master, Ozpin didn't want to force Shirou. It was to his relief when Shirou accepted the role and with that most problems were solved. Ozpin had a new card against Salem, although, he did have to forge records for Shirou.
It wouldn't be too much for someone in his position, but it just took time. Still, not a big issue, and Ozpin believed it would be worth it. He stood up, motioning Shirou to follow him. In the elevator, they stood quiet, relishing in the silence. A few moments passed before the door opened to the reception hall, and both walked toward the record office.
…
My eyes rested on the scroll that was given to me earlier by Ozpin. It was like the ones shown in the show, however, was limited to the current time. Along with the scroll, much more was issued to me, records of a forged life. In that life, I was a survivor of a destroyed village and eventually became a Huntsman through the licensing exam.
I, supposedly, have been active for years and wanted to settle down by becoming a teacher. A forged record of an interview between me and the previous Headmaster that occurred a month before his death was made. Due to not needing any more teachers at the moment, I was rejected for the time being and would be called up again if needed.
An unfortunate death happened and I was called in to be the Combat Instructor. At least, that was the story Ozpin forged with many embellishes. In the end, my (fake) life was among the many records of people in Vale, seemingly being there always. My Huntsmen License was issued as well, as shown on the scroll in my hands.
It held a photo of me, a string of identification numbers, and my name. The place where it was issued, Vale, and restrictions, which I held none and had the highest available level. Ozpin said it was due to me knowing much about the world as it made sense. Along was the material meant for the upcoming year.
I didn't have any teaching experience and barely knew anything, so I asked for help. Ozpin was kind enough to provide said help, gifting me his schedule for the year. Originally meant to be taught by Ozpin himself, I adjusted for myself. The schedule was a guideline which meant I didn't need to follow it as it was up to my choice, but it helped regardless.
It was night when everything settled down, after the conversation with Ozpin. Getting the documents/records for myself and the required IDs too. Tomorrow was the entrance exam where Ozpin would give a quick speech before it actually started. As required, I was also meant to be there to watch over and be introduced formally.
Despite this, I started cramming all the material Ozpin gave me. I didn't need sleep and could stay up as much as I wanted, though mentally is different. Still, I stayed up through the entire night making the curriculum for the school year. Giving gratitude to all the teachers across my life as this night was possibly the worst for me.
The next day had come, but I was still up making the curriculum, once again I thank all teachers. It was early, the sun was barely up, and still a few hours before the entrance test. Having enough with this, and cause it was mostly done, and most definitely not because I want to taste the famous EMIYA food which I could make myself now.
Definitely not, and I wasn't in the kitchen making food for myself and the other Professors. Totally was not, and don't mind the aroma permeating the kitchen and the stacks of food in containers in the fridge. Jokes aside, I did make food for the rest of the Beacon staff, first impressions mattered after all, and food is a good start.
Seriously, when I took the first bite, it was divine, all those descriptions of (my) Shirou's food were real. They were not exaggerating and when I brought a container for Ozpin, he thought the same. "Truly marvelous, it's the best food I've ever had throughout my many lives." We were in his office, some hours before where he'd deliver his speech.
During that time, I met the rest of the instructors at Beacon. Most, if not all, were entirely new people, never seen in the show. Well, most likely, I didn't have a perfect memory of the show, but could you blame me? The show was good at the start before shifting into the mess it became, like terribly so, but that was neither here nor later.
Disregarding that rabbit hole I'm not interested in going into, an hour before the speech by Ozpin. It was rather special due to it being his first and the circumstances surrounding this year. All of the staff were in the amphitheater to make sure everything was ready in an hour. Some older students, 3rd year and above, were helping around.
Most of their attention was focused on me, the newest addition to the staff. I was new to them, and because of that many had come up to me, asking questions and such. One particular person piqued my interest, a certain future teacher you could say. She was in the girl's uniform, pristine and very well-cared, professional as well.
It was none other than the one and only, Glynda Goodwitch.
…
Summer Rose knew that when she invited three relatively unknown people, it probably wasn't the best idea. While that mostly was incorrect, both Qrow and Tai proved otherwise and were good friends. That is to say, she considered all three of them friends, but the last one was getting on her nerves, truthfully.
Raven Branwen, twin sister to Qrow Branwen, was one you could consider egotistical, and narcissistic. It was the opposite of herself, and for obvious reasons, they didn't see eye to eye. Even in the short time, they were all together, a situation brewed between Summer and Raven as morning rolled around.
...
Raven liked to sleep in, getting the rest she wanted and perhaps needed. At least, that was in her perspective which was always right in her mind. Sleeping peacefully with a restful expression, she'd never let anyone see, she was roughly awakened. An immediate frown and glare on her face as she stared down the person.
It was none other than Summer Rose, someone she'd come to admire, but that has yet to come. Currently, a deadly look that could kill someone many times over was directed at Summer. Her face turned sheepish before spouting some nonsense about them being late, which was true, but Raven didn't know.
...
Tai considered himself a heavy sleeper, able to sleep through many things. As such, waking up to arguing fit his bill of what could wake him up. There just was a special thing about squabbling that always woke him up. He was still very groggy as he saw Raven and Summer in what appeared to be an argument.
Loosely paying attention to the argument he stood up and went toward the bathroom. Midway, he heard that all of them were going to be late which woke him up fully. Now that the situation dawned over, he sped up a lot and got ready fast. Once ready and out of the bathroom, he saw Qrow waking up groggy too.
...
Qrow, sad to say, was used to hearing loud voices when waking up. Although, it was less than usual, which meant it was already a good day compared to the rest. Getting out of bed is when he what the noise was about, an argument between his sister and Summer, something about being late to Beacon.
Tai came to his side as they both watched the females of the group continue. Qrow fully woke up and got ready too before Summer and Raven eventually stopped and Raven got ready as well. Soon, all four of them were on their way to Beacon, it didn't take long. Once there, all of them were gathered were a quick speech.
