Ren Tianyu stood before the board, the room now lit by a lamp and what little sunshine that passed from the stormy clouds. The weight of what he just reached and discovered was still lingering in his mind, something like a force that keeps pushing him forward, to reach something.
The symbol, pattern, blueprint, or whatever it is, didn't leave his mind. The once research that was like gnawing at straws, was now within his grasp. As though reality itself was telling him, guiding him to move forward towards what no one before him reached before, at least on the records.
But deep inside his heart, there was something else, a feeling, one telling him that he's playing with something beyond him, something never meant to be found which is why it was never documented.
He kept pacing aroud the room, looking at the board and on the books and notes and everything, the thought kept lingering in his mind and heart. He studied the symbols, the patterns, looking for something, anything that could lead him to something.
"How? Why? Why did no one ever notice it? Or see it or connect it? Why?" He kept muttering the more he thought about it, the weirder it became, he couldn't connect the dots, it's something far too intricate to be dismissed that easily.
All these years, he was just like them, not noticing, just gnawing at straws, nothing reached or discovered. So, just how did he or anyone before him not see it. Is there something else at play?
The strom kept brewing and getting stronger
The words his sister said kept repeating in his mind, 'some things are hidden for a reason.' he didn't, or couldn't, find a reason for nobody noticing it or why it was dismayed so easily.
'No, let's not waste time, I'm so close, we can think about that later.' Ren dismissed those thoughts and continued his research with even more determination now.

The door opened again, and the Golden haired beauty entered, with a plate of food in her hands. She placed the food on the table and went closer to where he was.
"Leave this for now, come eat, you need it. The research won't go anywhere in the time you'll eat. And if you're so afraid it does, then I'll stay here to watch it for you." She chuckled at the last part, as a way to convince him.
Ren looked at her, then back at the board " I know Yue, I know, but I'm just so close, I can feel it inside, I don't how or why, but I can and I can't stop now."
"I never said you should stop, I'm saying, you should take care of yourself too." She said as she handed him the plate directly.
"But that also doesn't mean I'm not against this, you're playing with dangerous, uncontrollable, things Ren, you know it, and I know it, and I'm worried."
Ren locked his gaze with hers, and she could tell his determination from his eyes that sparkled with intensity. "I've spent years reaching nothing Yue, nothing at all, now I finally have a lead, a lead that could lead to discovering, creating, something new."
"It's about world Yue, can you imagine it? Imagine the possibilities, imagine the creatures there, imagine what we could do."
"With us alone, on this earth, in this world, look at what we did, look at what humanity created, we can literally fly and reach anywhere in the world easily Yue, look at what we did in just this world alone."
Ren kept glorifying the creations of humanity.
"Now imagine, Yue, Imagine if we get to that other world, what if it's also like us, developed, but in another direction one that we can't comprehend until we see it, imagine the possibilities, what we can do, what well will develop into. Imagine Yue, Imagine!"
*Sigh*
Yue sighed defeatedly
"I know I know, just...be careful."
The air felt charged, felt different, like some energy is there in abundance, but they couldn't feel it, they couldn't tell, at the end, they're just mere mortals.
The strom kept getting worse....
