Chapter 26 - A New Home, A New Beginning

The next few days passed in a blur of excitement and activity. Leo, his mother, and Mia started searching for a better place to live. They visited several apartments, each one more beautiful and spacious than the last. The old, cramped space they had called home seemed like a distant memory as they walked through luxurious kitchens, large living rooms, and bedrooms with plenty of space for all of them.

Each new place they toured felt like a step closer to the future Leo had been dreaming of for them. However, the reality of the decision was not lost on him. The new apartment had to be more than just bigger—it needed to feel like a true home. A place where his mother and sister could relax without worrying about bills or how to make ends meet.

Finally, they found a spacious, modern apartment with three bedrooms and a balcony overlooking a peaceful park. It had a spacious living area, a beautiful kitchen with granite countertops, and the best part: it was only a short commute from the city center, where Leo planned to keep working in the game and use his new wealth to build their future.

"I think this is it," Leo said, smiling at his mom and Mia as they walked through the apartment, imagining themselves living there.

His mother looked around, taking in the details. The natural light streaming through the windows, the ample space for all their things, and the quiet neighborhood made her feel hopeful. "It feels perfect," she whispered.

Mia, ever the excited one, bounced up and down. "I can already picture my room! And we can have movie nights here, with popcorn and everything!"

Leo laughed, feeling a surge of pride. "I think we've found our new home."

They signed the lease that afternoon.

A few days later, the move was complete. The furniture from their old apartment was replaced with fresh new pieces. The new beds, couch, and dining table found their places. Leo even set up his gaming rig in a corner of his new room, a comfortable desk with a new chair and his monitor positioned just right.

For the first time in years, his life felt like it was truly on track. He could finally focus on his game and help support his family in a way he never imagined.

That evening, after the last box was unpacked, Leo sat down with his mom and sister at their new dining table. They were about to eat a meal prepared with their fresh groceries, and for the first time, it felt like they were sitting down to a real family dinner.

As they ate, Leo reflected on how much had changed. His mother, who had once spent sleepless nights stressing over bills, now had a warm smile on her face, and Mia seemed genuinely happy, no longer burdened by worries of the past.

"Leo," his mother said softly, "I know things aren't perfect, but this… this feels like a new beginning for us. I don't know how to thank you enough."

Leo smiled, taking a deep breath. "Mom, this is just the start. There's more to come. We're going to make sure that we never go back to the way things were. You, Mia, and I, we'll have everything we need from now on."

Mia grinned, her eyes full of excitement. "Yeah! And maybe next, we can get a pet dog or something! How cool would that be?"

Leo laughed. "We'll see, Mia. We've got a lot of new things to take care of first."

His mother nodded. "You're right, Leo. One step at a time. But I'm starting to believe that we really can have a better life."
