Jay-jay's POV
I woke up to sunlight hitting my face directly My head feels like it's splitting. This is what I get for attending the second party after our Christmas party.
It's their fault anyway! I thought the party was over, but when they said there was more, I went along.
Well... I wanted to join in the fun!
We went to Keifer's house and continued the celebration there. Good thing Blaster went home since Keigan was still awake when we arrived.
I heard my phone ringing. I had a strong feeling it was my older brother. I'm doomed!
I couldn't go home last night, so I texted him that I wouldn't be able to come back. I didn't wait for his reply—I just went to sleep.
Speaking of sleep, whose room am I in again? I looked around the room. This isn't the same room I saw before.
It has decorations and things like a computer and a laptop on the study table. There's also a guitar like the one I saw in Yuri's room. I couldn't clearly see everything because my vision was still blurry.
Honestly, I still wanted to sleep. I was still so drowsy, and my head needed rest. I turned over to avoid the sunlight.
I really shouldn't have done that!
K-K-Keifer?
My face was right next to his. He was sound asleep.
Oh my goodness! If he's here and I'm here and we're lying next to each other... No way?! Arrrghhh!
I quickly checked myself under the blanket. I still had my clothes on—everything was in place. I also checked my body for any pain.
Just a headache... That's all!
I moved slowly, trying to get up when suddenly an arm wrapped around me, pulling me back down.
As if that wasn't bad enough, he snuggled closer to me, and—ugh!—something hard was pressing against my side.
Please, no! Heaven, help me!
To make things worse, I could feel the warmth of his body. And it felt like... he wasn't wearing a shirt.
How did I even end up here?! This is insane!
Then it hit me—I remembered how I got here.
Flashback...
"🎶 Merry Christmas and a happy holiday... hiccup" I sang.
"Stop singing," Keifer ordered while trying to support me.
I gave him a dirty look. "Why? My voice ish beautiful!"
"Tss."
For some reason, I burst out laughing. That "tss" sound was so annoying—it made me want to pull his tongue out sometimes.
"Tss," I mimicked him. "...Tssssssss..."
"Stop it! You sound like a snake."
"Don't you like it? Hahahahaha..."
We stopped in front of a room's door. I knew this was the same room he always dumped me in. But before he could open the door, I slipped away from him and fell forward.
I thought I was going to hit the door of the room across the hall. But the door was open, and I went straight down to the floor.
"Oww..."
"Tsk! You're so stubborn!" Keifer said, helping me up.
When I saw the room's interior, I immediately slipped away from him and ran inside.
"Nice room!" I said, practically crawling my way to the bed.
"This is not your room. You're supposed to be in the other one," Keifer said, trying to pull me up and take me back.
"No! I'm staying here!" I said, quickly kicking off my shoes.
I flopped face-down onto the incredibly soft bed. I loved it here!
"This is my room, and you're not allowed here," Keifer warned.
"Whatever... whatever..." I mumbled, enjoying the softness of the bed until I finally fell asleep.
End of flashback...
I just smacked my own forehead. What I did was so embarrassing! The last time I drank in front of Keifer, he thought I was completely knocked out. Damn! What if he finds out I was just pretending back then?
I tried to recall everything I did last night, but my memory was all fuzzy. I'll think about that later. For now, the important thing is to get out of here.
I tried to move his arm off me, but he suddenly groaned.
I froze immediately. If he woke up, I knew it would lead to a long and messy situation between us.
My eyes drifted to his face. He actually looked so peaceful when he was asleep. So quiet and calm — you'd never think that when this guy's awake, he's nothing short of a walking disaster.
My phone started ringing again. I really needed to answer it, or my brother might actually kill me. I looked around for my bag and saw it just within arm's reach on the other side of the bed.
Carefully, I lifted my body just enough to grab it. As I pulled the bag closer, I realized Keifer was already awake — and staring right at me. It was only then that I noticed I was practically on top of him.
"Taking advantage of my peaceful sleep, huh?" he teased, smiling.
"You wish!" I shot back, my face heating up.
Without warning, he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me fully on top of him.
"Hey! What the hell?! Let go of me!" I struggled.
"Why? Isn't this what you want?" he teased, his grin turning mischievous. I started hitting his chest.
"No! You're so full of yourself!"
Suddenly, he pushed me off — and I fell right off the bed. My hip! Ugh! He tossed the blanket aside, and that's when I confirmed my suspicion: the guy was shirtless.
Damn it! He stood up like it was no big deal — and oh my god — he was just wearing boxers. I immediately averted my gaze.
"I like this boxer," he said casually. It took me a second to understand what he meant, so I sneaked a glance at him. He was wearing the reindeer-print boxers I bought him. My eyes unintentionally traveled upward. Suddenly, breakfast felt like a good idea. With, uh… bread and hotdogs.
"Like the view?" he teased, catching me in the act.
I quickly looked up at his face, only to see his smug expression — like some underwear model. Crap! I scrambled to stand up despite my aching hip.
"Ow…" I muttered under my breath. Damn it! This was all his fault!
Keifer headed to the bathroom, giving me a chance to finally check my phone. 132 missed calls… 278 text messages… I'm dead. I should probably start writing my will. My phone rang again. It was my older brother, Angelo. Taking a deep breath, I answered it — but I didn't even have to bring it close to my ear before his screaming hit me.
["WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!"] "K-Kuya…" I stammered.
His yelling was enough to shake my soul.
["I'm at the police station right now, and I'm about to report your classmates for kidnapping and assault!"]
Oh my god! What?!
"Wait! Kuya, no! It's nothing like that! I'm fine! I'm at Keifer's house!" I blurted out without thinking.
As soon as I said his name, I smacked my own forehead.
["Keifer's house?! You stayed there?! Are you kidding me?!"]
"K-Kuya… I-I can explain…"
["Jay, if you're not home when I get back from the office, I swear I'll shave your eyebrows off!"] he threatened. I instinctively touched my eyebrows.
"I-I'm on my way home!" I promised quickly. He hung up.
Just as Keifer stepped out of the bathroom. Wearing only a towel, he walked straight into his walk-in closet. Rich kid. Both he and Yuri had walk-in closets. Meanwhile, I was perfectly fine with a small cabinet. When Keifer came back out, he was wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
"Let's eat breakfast," he said casually.
"Wait! I need to brush my teeth first…" He looked at me for a second before speaking.
"The toothbrush you used is in the other room," he said before heading out.
He opened the door to the room across the hall. Grabbing my bag, I followed him and went straight to the bathroom to freshen up.
When I came out, the so-called king was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, eyes on the floor.
"Let's go," he said and walked ahead. I followed him, still a bit groggy. For someone with long legs, this guy walked way too fast. We ended up in the dining area, where Keiren and Keigan were already having breakfast.
Keigan looked like a proper good boy today — nothing like the fight-ready version from last night.
"Here she is," Keiren announced in a sing-song voice.
"G-Good morning…" I greeted awkwardly. Keiren just rolled his eyes at me, while Keigan offered a polite smile.
"Sit here," Keifer ordered, pointing to the chair beside him. Feeling self-conscious, I slowly walked over and sat down. Two maids entered, quickly serving us breakfast before leaving again.
"Next time, don't come here if you're just going to make a scene," Keiren snapped at me.
Make a scene? "…You almost wrecked our house. You nearly burned it down and summoned some kind of demon." Huh?! I stared at Keifer for an explanation, but he just kept eating like nothing was wrong.
"D-Did I really do something that bad last night?" I asked nervously.
Keigan avoided my gaze, Keiren glared, and Keifer silently pulled out his phone. After a few taps, he handed it to me. Onscreen was a video of a huge bonfire — and Ci-N and the others dancing around it. I heard loud chanting, but the real horror began when I saw myself.
"Alululululululululu!!!!!" I screamed, dancing wildly around the fire. Oh. My. God. "Sheshesheshe!" I continued in the video.
"…Come out! Come out! Come… OUT!!" What the hell was I calling out?!
"Aru! Kalu! Jaba! Tanan! Kalahali!" Ci-N joined in.
"Kalahama! Sitbumba!" I followed. The video ended, and Keifer took his phone back. Keiren shot me a look of pure judgment.
"You're insane," he declared before going back to his food. I wanted to melt into the ground. The memory of my drunken antics hit me like a truck. I'd turned into some cult leader summoning spirits.
"Next time, don't drink," Keifer said without looking up. "You might actually summon a real demon." I scratched the back of my head in shame. My crazy friends hadn't exactly helped last night.
And then it hit me. Yuri. I remembered what he said last night.
Holy crap! He asked me to marry him!
