Jay-jay's POV
"Sorry for what Keifer said before." Yuri said as he handed me a glass full of ice cream.
"You have nothing to apologize for. Keifer is the one at fault. He also called you a piece of shit." I replied before taking a bite of ice cream.
"That's just how you talk when you're emotional." Ci-N muttered as he took the ice cream from my glass.
Wow! He's so simple!
"Hey! This is mine!" I said as I pushed the ice cream away from him.
"Let's switch... Yours tastes better."
I looked at his glass. It wasn't empty. How else would we switch?
"Your glass isn't empty."
He immediately smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck. He probably thought I wouldn't notice.
Wais to men! Wais!
"Yes, no... I'll just ask Kit again." He said and walked closer to Kit.
We continued going to the Mall. Except for Blaster who they had already taken home. He needed to rest.
Ci-N said that Keigan and Blaster had been fighting for a long time. Keigan's girlfriend was his best friend. Of course, he still cared about him.
so he couldn't stay away, especially since Blaster was aware of the behavior of the brother of the King of Snakes.
To be honest, I have no interest in getting involved in their conversation. Maybe it's because of everything that happened or because Keifer the jerk is involved. Ah, whatever...
"Ci's right... That's just how Keifer is. Especially when you make him feel guilty," Yuri explained.
I looked at him in confusion. "Did I do that?"
"For me... yeah, you did."
Did I really? That wasn't my intention. Ugh, I guess I went overboard with my anger earlier. He even called me a piece of shit.
"B-because he's abnormal," I reasoned.
"I understand Keifer. I was also wrong for getting into it with Keigan," Yuri said, pressing an ice bag filled with ice against his face.
Why is Yuri so kind? He's the one who always gets picked on, yet he's the one who understands the most.
"Why are you like this?" I asked, making him look at me questioningly.
"What do you mean, 'Why am I like this'?"
"You're just... too kind. It's annoying."
"You don't want me to be kind?"
I quickly shook my head. "No, that's not it... What I mean is, you're too kind. People like you are easy to take advantage of."
He laughed a little. "I thought you wanted me to go back to how I was before."
"No way! I like it better when you're being true to yourself."
"So, you like me?" Yuri teased, making my cheeks heat up again.
I just shoved a spoonful of ice cream into my mouth and looked away. Ugh, this Yuri... He always makes my heart flutter without warning.
"Aishiteru," he said.
"Huh?" I asked, but he just shook his head with a smile.
Look at this guy, using another language again.
"Back to our topic... I'm not really kind. I just know what Keifer's been through. He already lost one of his family members. That's why he's so protective of Keigan," Yuri explained.
"So instead of stopping him, he helped him?"
Yuri nodded. "Maybe... I'm not sure."
"Tsk... He's just plain abnormal," I grumbled, taking another bite of my ice cream.
I kept eating until I heard Kit's voice. I looked in their direction.
Oh no! Here comes the King of Snakes.
I immediately turned my back and faced Yuri. Just seeing his face ruins my mood. I wish he hadn't come here.
"Yuri..." Keifer called.
"Hey... How's Keigan?" Yuri asked.
I moved from my spot since I was right between them. I let them talk.
"What flavor is that?" I asked Ci-N when I noticed his glass was filled to the brim.
"It's not good."
Huh?
"I asked for the flavor, not the taste!"
He's so stingy! My question was nowhere near his answer.
"Sans Rival, Ube, Rocky Road, and Vanilla," he answered, laughing.
This kid's not worried about a stomachache at all. Good luck to whatever bathroom he ends up running to later.
"Let me have a taste," I said, reaching for his glass, but this selfish kid pulled it away.
"No way... You'll get a stomachache."
"Oh, like your stomach won't hurt?!"
"Nope. As long as I don't share."
"You're so selfish!" I complained.
We kept bickering until someone set a mason jar in front of me—overflowing with ice cream, covered with sprinkles and marshmallows, with Stick-O and chocolate syrup.
It looked so good!
I wanted to grab it right away, but I looked up to see who put it in front of me.
Hmpf! Never mind, I don't want it anymore.
He sat next to me, waiting for me to say something. But I didn't look at him—I kept teasing Ci-N instead.
"Nope... No sharing. It's bad," Ci insisted.
Ugh! This kid is so stingy. I was about to argue when Ci suddenly pushed the mason jar closer to me.
"Here, you have your own now! Stop trying to take mine," he said before walking away.
Damn it!
I tried my best to ignore the ice cream in front of me, but my tongue was practically begging for just one bite.
Hold it in...
"You should eat it. It's melting," the jerk next to me said.
I just glared at him in response. He thinks he can win me over that easily?
"Okay... What do you want?" he asked.
I squinted my eyes at him, trying to look intimidating.
"Say the magic word," I challenged.
"Not gon'na happen," he replied in his smug tone.
See? This pest won't even apologize.
"Fine, take this ice cream away then," I snapped.
"You sure? What a waste... Look at that chocolate syrup mixing with the ice cream. The colorful sprinkles, the Stick-O waving at you, and the soft, white marshmallows. The ice cream is—"
"Fvck! Give me that!" I yelled, snatching the mason jar.
I couldn't take it anymore. I was staring at the ice cream the whole time, and this jerk was making it worse by describing it in detail.
I kept shoving spoonfuls into my mouth before it melted completely. But I froze when I noticed the King of Snakes watching me.
"What?" I asked.
"Profanity."
Oh, crap!
I totally forgot about our earlier agreement. But this was his fault for making me swear in the first place.
"I-I didn't swear at you, though," I defended.
"Still an offensive word," he said, slowly leaning closer.
"W-wait... I-I didn't mean to."
"This is the second time you've sworn. I heard you earlier when we were fighting..."
Did I swear earlier? Ugh! It was because David and the others just stood there watching the fight.
"...You owe me two kisses," he whispered.
I quickly stood up and moved away from him. Because... well... my heart... oh, crap!
"I-I don't want to! Y-you haven't even apologized to me yet!"
"I don't want to," he answered quickly.
"I-I don't w-want to either!"
Why am I stuttering?!
"If I say the magic word, will you give me permission to kiss you?" he asked.
Would I agree to that?
This guy's pride is sky-high! He won't even say sorry. But he's so sneaky, too.
I was torn between agreeing or not. But I trusted his pride — it's so high, it's unreachable.
"O-okay..." I answered hesitantly.
He looked at me straight in the eyes, his face dead serious.
"Jay-Jay..." he called me. "...I'm..." He took a deep breath.
"...I'm..." He paused for a moment before speaking again. "...I'm S.O.R.R.Y."
Unbelievable!
He actually spelled out the word! I knew it! This guy is so tricky.
"H-hey! That doesn't count! Don't cheat!"
He laughed a little. "But I said it. End of discussion," he said and suddenly stood up, starting to approach me.
I quickly ran toward Yuri and hid behind him.
"Hey... what's going on?" Yuri asked.
Even Felix and the others looked our way. Ci-N stopped what he was doing and looked at us curiously.
"B-because... that... that Keifer... he..."
"You owe me a kiss. You gave me permission, remember?" Keifer said.
"Hey! You tricked me! You didn't even say it properly!" I protested.
"What's going on?" David asked.
Everyone gathered around, curious about what was happening.
"It's him—" I pointed at Keifer.
I was about to explain when Keifer suddenly pulled me close, wrapping an arm around my waist.
"I got you now."
No way!
I tried pushing him away, but it was useless.
"Let go!" I yelled.
He didn't listen. Instead, he took my hand—and before I could scream—
He kissed me.
"Ooooh!"
"Sweet!"
"Even sweeter than our ice cream!"
"Keifer's my new idol."
He pulled away, giving me a chance to breathe. But I still couldn't move. My heart was racing like crazy.
"One," Keifer whispered.
"W-wait—" I couldn't even finish my sentence.
He kissed me again. Briefly, like before, but it still felt like I was doused with cold water.
"Two," he said, finally letting me go.
I gasped for air, my body still shaking.
"You snake!" I yelled.
He just smiled. "Profanity."
