Chapter 2 - Resumption

As the summer drew to a close, Alyssa and JoeGad reluctantly said their goodbyes to the freedom of vacation. They knew that soon they would be back to their routine of school and homework.

But as they walked through the gates of their prestigious private school, Ravenswood Academy, Alyssa couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She knew that she would get to see JoeGad every day, and that thought alone made her heart skip a beat.

As they made their way to their lockers, Alyssa couldn't help but notice the way JoeGad's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled at her. She felt a flutter in her chest, and she knew that she was in trouble.

Their first day of school was a whirlwind of catching up with friends, meeting new teachers, and navigating the familiar halls of Ravenswood Academy. Alyssa and JoeGad stuck together, sharing notes and laughter as they navigated the chaos.

As the day drew to a close, Alyssa walked JoeGad to his bus stop, feeling a sense of sadness wash over her. She didn't want the day to end.

"Hey, JoeGad?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

He turned to her, his eyes questioning. "Yeah?"

Alyssa's heart skipped a beat as she looked into his eyes. "I'm really glad we're in the same school," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

JoeGad's face broke out into a wide smile. "Me too, Alyssa," he said, his voice low and husky.

As they stood there, the air between them seemed to vibrate with tension. Alyssa knew that she was feeling something more than friendship for JoeGad, and she suspected that he might be feeling the same way.

As the car pulled up, JoeGad turned to Alyssa and smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow," he said, his eyes sparkling with promise.

As the bus pulled away, Alyssa couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. She knew that she would see JoeGad again tomorrow, and she couldn't wait.

She walked back to her locker, lost in thought. She couldn't believe how much her feelings for JoeGad had changed over the summer. She had always thought of him as just a friend, but now she couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between them.

As she switched out her books for her next class, Alyssa's best friend, Sophia, approached her. "Hey, girl! How was your summer?" Sophia asked, eyeing Alyssa's dreamy expression.

Alyssa blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. "It was good," she said, trying to play it cool. "I hung out with JoeGad a lot."

Sophia's eyes widened with interest. "Oh, yeah? What's going on with you two?"

Alyssa shrugged, feeling a little embarrassed. "I don't know. I just really enjoy spending time with him, I guess."

Sophia nodded knowingly. "I think I see," she said, a sly grin spreading across her face. "You've got a crush on him, don't you?"

Alyssa's face turned bright red as she realized that Sophia had figured her out. "Shh! Don't say that so loud!" Alyssa whispered, glancing around nervously.

Sophia laughed. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. But I have to say, I'm a little surprised. I didn't think you two would ever be more than friends."

Alyssa shrugged. "I don't know. I just feel like there's something between us. Something special."

Sophia nodded thoughtfully. "I think you might be right. I've seen the way JoeGad looks at you. He's definitely got feelings for you too."

Alyssa's heart skipped a beat at Sophia's words. Could it be true? Did JoeGad really have feelings for her?

As she walked to her next class, Alyssa couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe this year would be more than just a year of school and homework. Maybe it would be the year that she and JoeGad discovered something special.

As the days went by, Alyssa found herself looking forward to seeing JoeGad more and more. She would catch herself thinking about him during class, wondering what he was doing at that moment, and whether he was thinking about her too.

One day, as they were walking down the hallway, JoeGad turned to her and asked, "Hey, Alyssa, want to study together for our math test tomorrow?"

Alyssa's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. She knew that studying together would mean spending more time with JoeGad, and she couldn't wait.

"Definitely," she said, trying to sound casual. "I'll meet you at the library after school."

As they parted ways, Alyssa couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She knew that this was an opportunity to spend more time with JoeGad, and maybe even get a better sense of his feelings for her.

The next day, Alyssa met JoeGad at the library, and they spent the afternoon studying for their math test. As they worked, Alyssa couldn't help but notice the way JoeGad's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, or the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck.

She knew that she was falling for him, hard. And as they packed up their things to leave, Alyssa couldn't help but wonder if JoeGad felt the same way.

As they walked out of the library, JoeGad turned to her and asked, "Hey, Alyssa, want to grab some ice cream with me?"

Alyssa's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. She knew that this was a date, and she couldn't wait to see where things would go.

"Definitely," she said, smiling up at him.

As they walked to the ice cream shop, Alyssa knew that this was just the beginning of something special. She could feel it in her bones, and she couldn't wait to see what the future held for her and JoeGad.

She was just a girl who had a crush on a boy she had known when she was little. She didn't know what she wanted in life. She knew she only wanted to be with "Gad" as she often called him.
