"Not yet, I don't think so. I don't know if the guy they fought against was the one trying to summon the wolves. They still need to drain the summoning spell out of the patients and fix their connection to their wolves. They'll fetch us when it's safe enough for us. As for the mighty monster juice, it's something we usually give to werewolves who were grievously injured to force a shift and stimulate healing, but she's not a werewolf, I'm not sure how it works on elementals."
"You know, we may not have been closed in recent years, not until you began dating Sebastian, but if you would have been under some kind of controlling spell, I would have been able to tell, I'm sure. I don't like being locked up in here, especially not when my girlfriend doesn't seem okay, but with what I saw tonight here, it kind of proves to me that neither Coralis nor Sebastian is dangerous to us and that we can trust them."
"Agreed. Same for me. If you would have acted any different or if I wouldn't have recognized you, I'd have told you and made you break up with her when I found out about her."
Coralis held High Fay Zaaro's head while Eva held his feet when they carried him through the back door, all the way to the lobby.
"Please put him there for now," said High Mage Finnas, pointing at the janitor's closet. "Now tell me what were you doing when Zaaro arrived and how he is involved in what's happening here."
"Do you remember the wolf summoning case we worked on last year, at this clinic here?" said Eva.
Coralis and Eva deposited their charge on the ground, where High Mage Finnas has indicated. Sebastian handed Coralis a glass filled with a dark green liquid.
"Thanks, I probably need that if I want to be able to do what I need to do next," she said before she chugged its content and handed Sebastian the empty glass.
"I have been told it's worse than the case you worked on last year," said High Fay Ellya.
"It is. High Fay Zaaro is the one trying to summon the wolves this time. I felt his essence deeply imprinted into the wolves' soul and he managed to entirely sever the connection between the wolves and their human counterparts," said Coralis.
"Emery told me that you have been able to override the summoning spell in one patient before he passed through the portal he had set up for me and Finnas. Is that correct?"
"Yes. I subdued the wolves of the three infected patients and was about to examine those in the emergency room when Emma and Jessica felt the disturbances in the property wards. We still need to test the patients in the emergency room and drain the summoning spell out of everyone who got infected. When that's done, I will fix the connection between wolf and human."
"Is it safe enough to let the humans come out of the security room?" said Emma.
"Once we're done preparing the counter-spell, yes, provided all patient's rooms are heavily warded," said Coralis, turning her head to look at Sebastian. "Is Frank really here?"
Coralis debated on whether to ask Sebastian about Frank but decided she could trust the CMMA elders present with the information. High Fay Zaaro was still going to be out for a couple of hours.
"Yes, he was here to pick up Stephanie from work, she forgot to call him to tell him not to come."
"They're in the security room? Where they could watch what went down through cameras? Let's hope I didn't traumatize him for life. Flyball is one thing, but this is something entirely different."
"While you four are preparing the antidote, Finnas and I will take the official statement of what happened from the Healing Moon staff. Blue Thunder, I will also want to have a full report from you regarding Zaaro involvement in this mess. Eva Suri, I will take your account of the battle between you two and Zaaro. As for you, Sebastian Larameer, I am thankful that you came to provide assistance when you didn't have to, but I will also want to have your account of what you witnessed here."
"When you are done with it, we will help with its administration," said High Mage Finnas.
Stephanie tapped the monitor showing a view of their kitchen.
"Are you traumatized by what you saw here today? I'll admit, it's weird to be watching all that with you, never thought it would ever happen. I mean, flyball sure, but not this."
"No. I should be, but I'm not. It's been like watching a movie featuring my girlfriend, so to me, right now, she's like one of these superheroes. I found it hot, makes me want her more."
"I guess it's a good way to look at it, but please, you don't need to elaborate. Now I see what the mighty monster juice does to elementals, at least to those who can transform into an animal. Her panther keeps trying to come out but fails. She doesn't look injured, so I'm not sure why Sebastian thought it'd be a good idea."
"He hadn't seen her when he prepared it. When we were at the game, Vic said that if their kind uses up too much energy, they can pass out and she did look exhausted. Perhaps the drink is helping with that? She looks less tired now and I heard her say that it'd help her do what she needed to do next."
"Think you're right. You're learning quick bro!"
A few minutes later, Emma and Sebastian walked into the security room.
"All right, you guys can come out if you want. The situation is under control. Frank, I'm sorry for what you saw. Don't worry, it's not an everyday occurrence, your sister isn't continually in danger here and Blue isn't on the evil side of the fence," said Sebastian.
"I'm not worried about that, I don't think she would still be working here if that was the case, you quickly made sure nothing happened to us, but I do worry about my girl."
They followed Emma and Sebastian to a room and stopped by a doorway. Sebastian blocked the door with his arm after Emma passed through, to ensure Stephanie and Frank wouldn't walk into the room. From the hallway, they watched Coralis bringing A's wolf to the surface, while Emma, in wolf form, pinned her in place. Jessica stood behind the bed and grabbed her jaw. Eva emptied a syringe she was holding under his tongue.
"Emery and the CMMA elders are doing the same thing in the next room. We do have the situation under control, but given what we're dealing with, you shouldn't go anywhere near the patients until Blue fixed their wolf connection," said Sebastian.
"Eva, considering the type of backup we have this time, can you go sniff the patients in the emergency room for turmeric while the others reverse the spell in the third patient? They have High Mage Finnas to force their wolves to the surface and I want to get started on fixing their connection to their wolves."
"Sure!"
Sebastian let Eva pass through, followed by Emma. Stephanie went with them, wanting to check on Clarissa. Frank wanted to watch. Jessica stood next to the patient, who was lying unconscious on the bed in wolf form. Coralis held a front paw in her right hand and had her left hand on A's chest, a yellow glow came out of her, and her back was facing Frank.
A few minutes later, the CMMA elders walked out of the third patient room, followed by Emery. High Mage Finnas and Emery continued to the emergency room, but High Fay Ellya walked into A's room.
Blue let go of the paw she held with her right hand and pressed it on A's forehead. She opened her eyes as the patient woke up, gradually shifting back into human form. Coralis stared into her eyes and the yellow glow emanating from her turned white, with a blueish hue. A fell back asleep and Coralis removed her hands from her chest.
High Fay Ellya clapped her hands, which startled Coralis. She turned around and saw Sebastian and Frank behind her. Her eyes were still glowing bright.
"Consider me impressed," said High Fay Ellya while advancing to the patient.
She put her left hand on the patient's forehead.
"Her wolf is at peace, you did great there. You're growing very powerful, despite your age and I now see why the wolves are so fond of you."
"I don't think she realized what she just did to that patient meant to us," said Jessica.
"It's what needed to be done. I've got two more to do, plus those in the emergency room. Let's move this to the next room," said Coralis as she headed out of the room and looked at Frank when she passed by him. "We'll talk about this later if you want to."
