Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 ⤁ Goal Accomplished, Long-Awaited Blue Skies and White Clouds!

Ryōsuke earned 170 Competition Points from his match against Team Y, plus 30 Points from three days of training, totaling 200 Points.

Upgrading Rice Spirit to Level 2 required 50 Competition Points, and Total Concentration Breathing to Level 3 needed 100 Points. After deducting Points spent on practicing in the Competition Space recently, he lacked sufficient Points to upgrade Lightning Flash.

However, after the third match, he managed to upgrade Thunderclap and Flash to Level 3.

Ryōsuke swiftly upgraded the First Form to Level 3, spending 100 Competition Points and leaving him with 80.

As mysterious power coursed through his body, his upgraded Thunderclap and Flash granted him greater range, more explosive power, and reduced stamina consumption.

He could now use this skill more frequently in matches and shoot from farther distances.

Just then, the system's voice rang out again.

〘 Achievement Unlocked 'Outstanding Midfielder': First time participating in an official match as midfielder and achieving victory. Earned Competition Points: 40! 〙

〘 Achievement Unlocked 'Playmaking Core': First time providing at least 3 assists to 3 different players in an official match and achieving victory! Lowest level Skill gains 25% proficiency! 〙

〘 Achievement Unlocked 'Trinity': Accumulated experience playing in three different major positions! Training efficiency for daily Competition Points increased, with new upper limit: 20! 〙

These achievements brought Ryōsuke significant benefits.

Beyond the immediate gains in Points and proficiency, the doubled daily Competition Points were most valuable — this would greatly accelerate his ability to upgrade and unlock skills.

Previously, he had planned to maintain just three skills, but with doubled daily Competition Points, he could now expand his repertoire.

Having not yet maxed out his daily points from today's match, he had 120 Points remaining and could unlock new skills tomorrow.

However, Ryōsuke had something more pressing on his mind.

He had scored ten goals in total — just enough to exchange for a chance to go outside — and tomorrow was his appointed meeting with Riko.

He quickly headed to the cafeteria to exchange for an exit pass.

It was a simple access card with one line of text, "When needing to go out, proceed to Building 5's entrance, the door will automatically unlock."

In the original story, no one in Blue Lock had ever exchanged for this privilege.

Not only did most participants not need this privilege, but very few could score 10 goals so quickly. In the original story, only Shoei Baro had achieved this feat in the first round.

Yet Ryōsuke had surpassed that, scoring 13 goals in just three matches, along with numerous assists and interceptions — a performance that Shoei couldn't match.

Outside Blue Lock, at the Itoshi residence.

Sae Itoshi sat at his desk, watching Blue Lock footage from the Football Association chairman with obvious disinterest.

Though he'd initially been curious about the Blue Lock Project, these supposed top national forwards — including his own younger brother, Rin Itoshi — seemed worthless to him now.

These matches weren't worth his time.

"Garbage. No technique. Wasting opportunities."

He skimmed through the recordings with a blank expression, pausing only briefly for a single player.

"Ryūsei Shidō? Barely worth remembering." His eyebrows twitched before he continued scanning through the footage.

A player's skill level could be judged from just a single moment — even a single frame.

But suddenly, he pressed pause and narrowed his eyes. Someone had caught his attention.

Ryōsuke Kira.

He studied one clip intently: Ryōsuke facing off against Shoei Baro, executing Thunderclap and Flash with his left foot.

"His dominant foot is his right, yet he created such a powerful shot with his left. Interesting, this Ryōsuke Kira... To think someone like this was in Blue Lock all along." Sae muttered while dialing his agent, "Get me more footage of the one called Ryōsuke Kira."

He spoke with an absolute commanding tone.

Early the next morning, Ryōsuke rose and completed his training session, earning his daily 20 Competition Points.

Not only had the point limit increased, but the training now yielded points more efficiently than before.

After wrapping up practice and exchanging quick words with his teammates, he made his way to the building's entrance. The door stood firmly sealed — impenetrable to ordinary visitors.

Blue Lock truly lived up to its name.

As he approached, the screen above the door flickered to life, displaying Jinpachi's face.

[Though I established this reward, I hadn't expected anyone to claim it so soon.]

He studied Ryōsuke intently, paused for a moment, then proceeded.

[You have twenty-four hours of leave, starting from your departure. Failure to return on time will result in disqualification. It's noon now, so you must return by noon tomorrow. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. If you understand these terms, you may swipe your card to exit.]

"Mm, understood." Ryōsuke nodded briefly and pressed the access card against the door. The heavy barrier slowly swung open.

A brilliant blue sky and radiant sun greeted him, while a cool breeze caressed his cheeks.

After half a month in this confined space, the sight before him felt like a long-awaited reunion.

"Finally, a temporary escape from this hellhole. Better not waste any time."

He sent Riko a message confirming his departure from Blue Lock, stretched his limbs, and flagged down a taxi to Seirin High School.
