Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Please Let Me Have the Fragmentum Creatures to Myself

"Mr. Fu Zhu, you're being too reckless!"

Gepard, rushing to the scene, subconsciously worried about Fu Zhu first. Here on the front line, he was the soldier, and Fu Zhu was the guest. Under no circumstances could they let a guest go to the front lines.

Only after worrying did Gepard realize that Fu Zhu had repelled the Fragmentum creatures' offensive in the short time it took him to run over. Fu Zhu's strength far surpassed his own!

Gepard averted his gaze from the small mountain of Fragmentum creature corpses, his eyes falling on the Silvermane Guards nearby, who were equally dumbstruck by Fu Zhu's power.

This time, unlike their usual encounters with Fragmentum creatures, the Silvermane Guards had suffered no casualties. Only a few sustained minor injuries. The most severely injured among them was actually someone who had tried to approach Fu Zhu to share the burden, only to be accidentally hit by Fu Zhu's sweeping sword energy.

Seeing this situation, Gepard couldn't help but take a deep breath. He walked up to Fu Zhu and offered a sincere military salute.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Fu Zhu. Because of you, the Silvermane Guards suffered no casualties this time. I truly don't know how to repay your kindness."

Fu Zhu glanced at his achievement progress and saw he was still some way off from killing one hundred Fragmentum creatures. He couldn't help feeling a little disappointed, but then he thought: the Eternal Freeze has existed for hundreds of years, so clearly these Fragmentum creatures appearing alongside it weren't attacking Belobog for the first time.

As long as he stayed in Belobog, he could definitely complete these achievements before leaving Jarilo-VI.

After checking these, Fu Zhu shifted his attention back to Gepard, smiling as he pointed to the Broken Blade of the Godfall Sword in his hand.

"If you don't know how to repay me, just prepare an anvil for me. By the way, do you have any spare iron ingots or diamonds in your military camp?"

"That's certainly no problem." Gepard thought for a moment about the current supplies in the camp, then smiled apologetically at Fu Zhu.

"My sincere apologies, Mr. Fu Zhu. This is the front line, after all. We do have quite a few iron ingots, but we don't have decorative items like diamonds. There are plenty in Belobog city, though. Tomorrow morning, when I escort you back, I can take you to my sister's shop to get some."

"That's wonderful. For now, just let me use the anvil."

"Of course. This way, please."

After this battle, the Silvermane Guards on the front line held immense respect for Fu Zhu. Just on the way to the camp for Fu Zhu to borrow the anvil, many guards gave him respectful military salutes.

Upon entering the camp, Fu Zhu immediately spotted an iron anvil placed on the ground. A smile couldn't help but appear on his face. He finally found an anvil; he could enchant his Godfall Sword now.

After leading Fu Zhu to the anvil, Gepard temporarily excused himself to have some iron ingots delivered.

Shortly after, two Silvermane Guards carried a small pile of iron ingots into the camp.

"Mr. Fu Zhu, are these enough?" Gepard explained with some difficulty, "Since this front line isn't suitable for processing, standard weapons and armor are usually crafted in the rear and then sent here. The front line only keeps a small amount of iron ingots for repairing the defensive structures, so the quantity is limited."

Fu Zhu turned his head, counted the iron ingots – just over 80 pieces in total. Though not many, it was entirely sufficient for him to craft a full set of iron armor.

"It's enough. I'll take 64 pieces, is that alright?"

"Of course."

Fu Zhu nodded and took 64 iron ingots, but he didn't rush to craft armor. Instead, he first used his iron pickaxe to break the anvil, then, under Gepard's astonished gaze, converted the anvil into an MC anvil before placing it back down.

Seeing the anvil suddenly transform, Gepard was too shocked to speak for a moment. His mind was filled with curiosity, but he felt too awkward to ask Fu Zhu, as it concerned the man's secrets. He could only stand quietly to the side as an observer.

Fu Zhu placed the Broken Blade of the Godfall Sword into the anvil interface, then applied the Mending enchantment he had fished up by sacrificing his dear sister's luck. Fortunately, the experience required for the first enchantment was only level 3, and he currently had a full 46 levels of experience – more than enough.

With a series of ding ding dong sounds, a purple sheen appeared on the originally crimson Godfall Sword.

Next, he just needed to find some more Fragmentum creatures to kill, and he could repair the Godfall Sword!

Gepard, having observed everything, spoke up at the right moment.

"Mr. Fu Zhu, it's getting late. Besides, you just fought off the Fragmentum creatures. You should rest early. I'll lead you to the resting place. Afterwards, I still need to return to the city wall to stand guard."

"Stand guard?"

"Yes. The Fragmentum creatures have only temporarily retreated. They will definitely launch another sneak attack tonight."

Gepard was long accustomed to the tactics of these Fragmentum creatures. They would certainly not attack just once. Moreover, the low-level Fragmentum creatures lacked high intelligence; they wouldn't be scared off just because of Fu Zhu's terrifying strength.

Tonight, they were bound to launch another attack.

Hearing that monster farming would continue tonight, Fu Zhu immediately and earnestly rejected Gepard's suggestion for him to rest.

"I will help you."

Gepard was deeply moved upon hearing this but still shook his head, declining Fu Zhu's assistance.

"No, Mr. Fu Zhu, you are a guest. You have already helped us previously. Belobog cannot let you risk your life for us again!"

Fu Zhu grew anxious. These Fragmentum creatures were an excellent source of Ender Pearls!

They weren't as strong as Endermen, yet they were numerous. Where else could he find such treasure-trove monsters?!

Furthermore, Fragmentum creatures not killed by him wouldn't trigger drops. Even though he could still obtain Extinguished Cores by harvesting hearts from the corpses, gathering more was always better!

However, Fu Zhu couldn't use this explanation to convince Gepard. After much thought, he could only rephrase his words.

"Gepard, I am a Nameless. Standing by and watching others suffer without extending a helping hand violates our Nameless code. Besides, you know my strength. I would rather sweat more than let soldiers bleed more. Their lives should rightly be used to build a new home after the Eternal Freeze recedes!"

Hearing these words, Gepard froze on the spot, his eyes filled with admiration for Fu Zhu.

After a long silence, Gepard suddenly snapped his feet together, clenched his right fist, and struck his chest heavily. His gaze landed sincerely on Fu Zhu's face.

"In that case, please allow me to fight alongside you! I swear on the Landau name, I will absolutely protect your back!"
