Su-yeon is alive.
Hyun-ju's death had been staged. For protection. For truth.
Her letter continued—
"Dr. Kang's treatment will erase that 'I'. Not integrate. Not save. Erase."
"Your memories. Your instincts. They'll go too."
Control through amnesia.
Obedience by forgetting.
"You need to find me. In person. There's more I can't write."
Coordinates. A trail.
A way forward.
But first—
"Ji-hoon!" A voice outside the lab.
That 'I' froze.
Someone had followed them.
A flashlight swept through the window.
He grabbed the box. Everything inside. Darted to the rear.
No plan. Just run.
Then think.
In the woods now. Footsteps behind.
Too fast. Too close.
"Ji-hoon, stop!" Not Kang. Not a guard.
Detective Park.
How did he find us?
"Don't go any further," Park said, catching his breath.
"Why not?"
"Because someone else is already waiting for you."
And then— The faint sound of humming. From deeper in the woods.
Electric. Artificial.
Someone else had known. Someone else was already watching.
