After obtaining Hollow abilities, Kuzo's Reiatsu was now five times stronger than it had been before. As a result, his ability to interfere with reality had grown far beyond what it used to be. He no longer needed to accumulate energy to release his Reiatsu; it could easily make weaker individuals collapse without any effort.
At that moment, as the two guards felt this overwhelming pressure, they were naturally terrified.
"The basement is through the second entrance of the shrine!" one of them cried out in desperation.
"You... you just need to touch the mechanism stone outside the entrance, and the door to the basement will open!"
The guards could feel their bones nearly crushing under the immense pressure. Survival was their only priority now, and they had no choice but to confess.
"Very good," Kuzo said, nodding in approval. He then turned and walked toward the shrine, his back to the two guards. "For now, your lives are spared."
As Kuzo entered the shrine with a swift Shunpo, the guards let out a sigh of relief.
"Finally..."
However, as soon as they relaxed, they realized the pressure on them hadn't dissipated. They remained kneeling on the ground, unable to stand, silently lamenting their helplessness.
---
Inside the shrine, Kuzo ignored everything around him and focused on the task at hand. Following the information provided by the guards, he made his way to the second entrance.
As expected, in a small room, he found an object resembling a mechanism stone.
Kuzo released his Reiatsu, and the stone began to shift. The floor before him split open, revealing a passage leading down.
It was the basement.
Without hesitation, Kuzo descended the stairs.
As he walked deeper, he could feel the temperature dropping and the surroundings growing eerily silent. Only when he reached the bottom did he finally see the sealed stone gate, adorned with complex seals and spells.
These symbols clearly indicated that something important was hidden behind this gate.
Kuzo had no intention of reading the curse or the intricate seals. He raised his index finger nonchalantly and aimed it at the stone gate. At that moment, his Reiatsu began to condense at his fingertip, forming a small energy ball that gathered at high speed.
After a brief pause, Kuzo calmly spoke.
"Cero."
The light ball shot forward, transforming into a brilliant beam of Reiatsu. It slammed into the stone gate like a laser cannon, causing the entire space to vibrate with the force of the impact.
The powerful Reiatsu shattered the stone gate and sent debris flying in every direction.
Kuzo smiled, pleased with the result. The force of the Cero had exceeded his expectations.
He stepped into the stone room, and the moment he entered, his eyes immediately locked onto a black stone stele that stood quietly in the center of the room.
The Naga Stone Stele, crafted by the Sage of Six Paths himself.
The original purpose of the stele was to guide the reincarnation of Indra, the eldest son of the Sage, back to his rightful path. However, after the Sage's death, Black Zetsu had tampered with the inscriptions, leading those who sought its wisdom astray.
Over time, the stele had been incorporated into the Uchiha clan's Naga Shrine.
The stele's content was divided into three parts, accessible through the Sharingan, Mangekyō Sharingan, and Rinnegan. Those who had not unlocked their eyes could only view the simplest message.
"It seems this is the object that delayed Uchiha Madara's life," Kuzo mused as he observed the stele.
He didn't possess the Sharingan, and therefore, couldn't decipher any deeper meanings. However, this didn't concern him. As soon as he finished reading the simple inscription before him, a prompt sounded.
"Ding! Congratulations to Host, the main branch mission has been completed!"
"Read the Nanga Shrine Stone Tablet (1/1). Completion reward: Reiatsu +5000!"
"5000 Reiatsu?" Kuzo's eyes lit up with surprise. A pleased smile spread across his face.
This was a side mission tied to the main storyline, and it was clear that the rewards for such missions were far more generous than those for regular side tasks.
It seemed that the remaining branch tasks wouldn't disappoint either.
---
Meanwhile, outside the Nanga Shrine, as Kuzo was reading the inscription, a black figure approached the entrance.
It was Uchiha Itachi.
His expression remained as indifferent as ever, but a few fresh drops of blood stained his face. The blade in his hand was also slick with blood, reflecting the pale moonlight in a grim, unsettling way.
The cold wind passed by him as he silently walked toward the two guards. In his eyes, there was a fleeting flash of complex emotion, but it was quickly suppressed.
By now, he understood that there was no turning back. After slaughtering his entire clan, it was impossible for him to stop now.
When he reached the two guards, one of them suddenly realized who it was and greeted him eagerly.
"Itachi! Master Itachi?! You've finally arrived!"
"We just found out..."
Before he could finish his sentence, blood sprayed into the air.
Under the pale moonlight, the blood splattered across the ground like flowers blooming in the night.
Itachi's blade had slashed through the throats of both guards in an instant, without hesitation. He didn't care for the unfinished words.
It no longer mattered what they had planned to say.
Now, everything was coming to an end.
This was the meeting place, the location agreed upon with the masked man.
