Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Tempering in the Mountains

"The Taihang Mountains are about to be restless," Chu Feng muttered to himself, looking out the window. The night sky was vast, and occasionally meteors could be seen streaking across it, fleeting and transient.

Certainly, there would be extraordinary people coming. The fruits of the rare and wondrous tree could create masters like Silver-Winged Heavenly Gods, Vajra, Fire Spirits, and White Tiger Kings; how could this not stir hearts?

Powerful extraordinaries, if they could make it in time, would mostly rush over!

With the appearance of these extraordinaries, some might gain fame through battles here, while others might fade away like meteors in the night sky, extinguished instantly, fallen in the mountains.

In any case, the Taihang Mountains were about to see turbulent times!

"Is Lin Nuoyi also here for this?" Chu Feng frowned slightly. In the near future, this area was destined to face constant upheavals, and the mountains would be very dangerous.

He knew that Divine Creature Biologics was a behemoth, and now they even possessed a Silver-Winged Heavenly God. It was rumored that during his last battle, under his silver wings' strike, all challengers were defeated, none could stand against him!

In a residential area of the county town,

Night Song had a stern expression, with purple light flowing in his narrow eyes. Not long ago, he was questioned by his superiors about why the news of the treasure tree in the Taihang Mountains leaked so quickly.

Zhu Qingyu's complexion wasn't much better, her usual smile vanished. She was also one of the leaders of this team and had been questioned.

It could be said that Divine Creature Biologics had long been paying attention to the Taihang Mountains, sending people to search there. They were the first to discover that strange tree.

Who would have thought that the news would leak out and spread to the outside world.

As a result, now with the winds rising, everyone knew, and surely a large number of extraordinary people would arrive soon. If they waited until the fruit matured, there would inevitably be conflicts.

The higher-ups were furious.

Zuo Jun lowered his head, tightly gripping the communicator, staring at the screen. He hated that person immensely, ready to curse him as soon as the screen lit up.

"Zuo Jun, what are you spacing out for!" Night Song shouted. Usually, he was calm, but now he was clearly enraged, "Did you leak the information before losing your memory after being severely injured?"

Zuo Jun was stunned, then his face turned pale, hurriedly shaking his head. Such a thing was unbearable, or there would be no good end.

"Absolutely impossible, how could I be a coward? I fought desperately until I lost my memory!" Zuo Jun exclaimed emotionally, standing up and roaring, loudly defending himself.

"None of us could have leaked the information. Could it be that the other two teams did?" another extraordinary person suggested.

Although the several teams were all subordinate to Divine Creature Biologics, they were also competitive. Those two teams later learned the location of the small tree as well.

"It could be other forces, such as Bodhi Gene. They appeared in the Taihang Mountains these past two days," Zhu Qingyu said.

Bodhi Gene, also specializing in biomedicine, always led the industry. Like Divine Creature Biologics, they were at the forefront.

When it started, it carried a bit of mystery. It was said that when it was founded, they invited several top experts in the field of biomedicine and a few hundred-year-old monks.

They used the most advanced equipment to conduct various checks on the old monks.

Later, Bodhi Gene gradually grew stronger, becoming more famous in the post-civilization era, turning into a super conglomerate.

"The Taihang Mountain area is occupied by us, yet they come to stir things up," an extraordinary person complained.

"Perhaps they sensed our advantage here and wanted to muddy the waters," Zhu Qingyu said.

Several extraordinary people frowned; Bodhi Gene wasn't easy to deal with. They were not short of masters, like Vajra, who could rival the Silver-Winged Heavenly God.

"This will trouble those above; we just need to do what we should now," Night Song gradually calmed down.

They all knew that it wouldn't be long before fights broke out in these mountains, not knowing how many extraordinary people would appear.

In the courtyard of the Chu family in Qingyang Town,

The wind roared, thunder rumbled. Chu Feng was practicing boxing, every move different from before, with a layer of mysterious power covering his fists.

As he swung his fist, petals and leaves flew everywhere.

Finally, with a soft shout, a white breath spewed from his nose and mouth, circling around the yard before returning to his body.

He had mastered the eighth form of Demon Ox Fist!

This rapid progress made even the ox look at him strangely.

However, he failed to master the ninth form after two days of hard practice. This final form was somewhat special, echoing the hardest first form.

He paused for a rest, then went to the kitchen to prepare some food.

But the refrigerator was empty, with nothing left to eat except for a steak in the freezer, which the ox would probably fight him for if it saw.

"No, it's time to go out for a walk!" Chu Feng decided.

Now, major markets were emptied, making it impossible to buy meat anymore.

There was some grain at home, but given his intense boxing practice, he consumed a lot daily. Regular food couldn't sustain him; he needed plenty of meat.

"Demon Ox, let's go into the mountains!" Chu Feng called out.

To enter the mountains, he definitely needed to bring the ox, who emerged from the mysterious primeval mountains.

The ox was indifferent, lazy, and didn't want to move.

"Pork chops are gone, turkey is eaten too; you'll only eat grass from now on!" Chu Feng threatened.

Hearing this, the ox jumped off the bed. Hearing there was no meat left, it refused to be a herbivore.

Ultimately, under Chu Feng's request, it followed along.

The Taihang Mountains stretched endlessly, grand and magnificent.

In this region, mountains clustered, with rugged terrain. Walking eastward through the orchards, going twenty miles led into the mountains.

Mountains teemed with wildlife, though hunting was previously forbidden.

Wild boars, leopards, macaques, roe deer, sika deer, badgers, etc., were numerous. Of course, wolves were the least desired encounters.

With Chu Feng and the ox's speed, it didn't take long to reach the mountains.

Along the way, Chu Feng observed carefully, looking for any peculiar fruits since this place was rarely visited by humans.

Unfortunately, he found nothing.

"Hold on, where are you going? That side is too dangerous," Chu Feng suddenly stopped.

The ox ran ahead, heading towards a towering mountain shrouded in mist, with terrifying beast roars and occasional sightings of massive beasts dozens of meters long flying overhead.

The ox stopped, indicating its intention to go there.

"That's perilous, full of vicious beasts!" Chu Feng's expression changed.

Remember, this wasn't an ordinary Taihang Mountain but one that emerged with the earth's transformation.

The mountain was colossal, towering over ten thousand meters into the clouds.

On the mountain, ancient trees reached the sky, thick vines entwined, and apes cried, tigers roared, presenting a primitive scene.

Even from afar, a fierce aura enveloped everything, terrifying beyond measure.

"Combat Practice!" The ox scratched two words on the ground, solemnly explaining its reason for bringing Chu Feng here, pointing out what he lacked.

Chu Feng hesitated, having never considered approaching these ferocious creatures before coming.

After the Taihang Mountains' transformation, hundreds of mysterious giant mountains appeared in this region, and this was just one of them.

"Moo!" The ox urged.

"Alright, I'll follow you!" Chu Feng gritted his teeth. He knew the ox wouldn't harm him and made perfect sense. Since he learned the Demon Ox Fist, what was there to fear?

Perhaps, the Demon Ox Fist was born in such harsh environments.

Approaching the mountain, it was enormous, like entering a plateau, vast beyond compare.

Here, plants thrived, and primordial lifeforms abounded.

"They can't come out, but I can go in?" Chu Feng asked.

The ox confirmed it.

"And can I get out?" Chu Feng doubted.

The ox nodded, reassuring him not to worry, as long as wild beasts didn't kill him, he could exit via the same path.

Chu Feng was puzzled, unsure of the logic, but now the ox seemed unwilling to explain further.

Though still some distance away, he already saw unheard-of beasts, like a lion-like monster with bone spikes on its back, towering ten meters high, moving through the forest.

Chu Feng swallowed, feeling uneasy. Facing such gigantic beasts, could he be a match?

The ox stared at him, indicating that fighting wasn't necessary upon entering the forest. Survival came first, ensuring survival before selecting suitable prey.

Finally, Chu Feng stepped into this primeval land.

Ancient trees blocked the sun, and some thick vines, as big as barrels, lay across the forest floor.

Demon Ox warned him to use various forms of Demon Ox Fist, tense his muscles, and conceal his aura.

Chu Feng complied, following closely behind.

Boom!

Indeed, the forest was extremely dangerous. From afar, vegetation rustled as a house-sized beast, resembling a leopard but with horns, crashed onto their previous spot.

From behind cover, Chu Feng watched, gasping in shock.

He realized how much he still needed to learn. On this primeval mountain, true tempering awaited; surviving meant graduation.

Now, Chu Feng embraced it wholeheartedly, honing himself.

Because soon, the Taihang Mountains would gather many extraordinaries, leading to inevitable battles.

Entering the primeval mountains now, despite the risks, was part of his transformation, adapting to various crises, more important than merely improving his boxing skills.

While navigating the dense forest, a fist-sized spider suddenly dropped from a thread, nearly touching Chu Feng's face.

Bang!

Without hesitation, he punched, splattering flesh.

Quickly checking his fist, worried about poisoning.

The ox slowly shook its head, implying not to worry; Demon Ox Fist wasn't weak.

Throughout the journey, Chu Feng encountered many monsters. Once, narrowly avoiding a twenty-meter-long fiery bird, melting rocks with its heat.

This place was too dangerous!

Chu Feng dodged into the forest, disappearing.

Passing through a quiet forest, Chu Feng felt intense unease. Based on prior experience, he knew formidable beasts lurked here.

This could be its lair, other creatures kept away.

Because here was too silent.

Yet, the ox insisted he proceed.

Soon, Chu Feng's hair stood on end seeing a six-meter-long snow-white tiger, without stripes, sharp claws gleaming.

"It's not a tiger!"

Because it had three tails, each shimmering, capable of smashing rocks with a flick.

The ox wrote on the ground, indicating today's meal.

Chu Feng widened his eyes. Was he to hunt this massive beast?

Yes, it was!

The ox nodded affirmatively, instructing him to attack and practice boxing.

Ahead, the open ground, devoid of vegetation, led to a cave in the cliff, evidently the beast's den.

At this moment, the six-meter-long creature opened its cold eyes, sensing unfamiliar intruders.

"Roar!" A roar shook the earth as the beast transformed into a white flash, attacking swiftly, accompanied by a foul wind.

"Practice!" Chu Feng shouted, gritting his teeth, facing it head-on.
