Chapter 6 - Suits Up, Time for a chat [1]

It had been a few days since Damian became the head of the Lunemire Village Bakery Association.

It was Saturday morning, the weekend. Damian and Carolla hadn't opened the bakery. Normally, they operated until Saturday and rested on Sundays, but unusually, the two had decided to take a break on this particular Saturday.

Since getting a job at Damian's bakery, Carolla had been living with him in a fairly large house with a yard. It wasn't as grand as the mansions noblemen lived in, but it was impressive for someone Damian's age to have bought such a house on his own.

Though he was once a celebrated hero and now a respectable businessman, many would have squandered their wealth in their youth had they been in his position. But Damian, being diligent and frugal, never made such mistakes.

Carolla woke up early to go out for work and, stepping out of her room, she saw that Damian was already in the living room, up earlier than her.

"Oh, you're up early, Damian."

"Yeah."

Carolla gave Damian a once-over. Usually, Damian wore a simple t-shirt and jeans, but this morning, he was dressed in a neat black suit. His long blond hair was combed back neatly.

Standing at about 185 cm with a lean build, and having strikingly handsome features, Damian looked even more dazzling when properly dressed.

Admiring the sight, Carolla asked with a touch of surprise, "Whoa… Looking sharp. Got a date this morning or something?"

Damian shook his head firmly.

"Nah, nothing like that."

"Then what's with the suit so early in the morning?"

"Well, I'm the head of the village's bakery association now. I should act the part. Just sitting around doesn't suit me."

As he finished speaking, Damian handed Carolla an envelope.

"This is just a little bonus. Since I'm out today handling association business, take the day off. Go relax, enjoy the town, maybe have a drink. You've been working hard lately."

Seeing Damian hand over a bonus and encourage her to rest, Carolla shook her head.

"Don't talk nonsense. If the boss isn't resting, how can an employee take it easy? I may be a demon, but I'm not shameless. Keep your bonus. If you're going to do association work, I'll support you as a member."

Damian thought to himself how loyal Carolla truly was.

"Hah. You really are a stand-up woman."

"You're the one who said I was a fool. I worked under the Demon King for ten years without a penny. A boss like you who treats me well? Of course I'll work harder. What's the point of slacking off alone? People might call me a fool, but if my captain's moving, I can't just laze around."

"Then first, let's get you dressed. There should be a tailor's shop open early."

"Still, why the suit? Where are we going?"

Damian grinned and replied.

"To the Kingsman Bakery. Ever since it opened, I haven't properly greeted them. Time to pay a visit."

"Height: 2.32 meters. Chest: 172 cm. Waist: 130 cm."

Damian and Carolla went to the best tailor in the village. A petite female clerk was struggling to take Carolla's measurements.

"Um… We came here because I heard you can make a sharp custom suit within two to three hours…"

To Damian's words, the clerk responded politely.

"Yes, Mr. Damian. Our shop combines magic with elite tailoring skills, so we can produce any custom fit in a short time."

The clerk blushed slightly as she spoke, her eyes on Damian. Not only was he a legendary hero, but he also had striking good looks. Naturally, all the other female staff were also sneaking glances his way.

"How long would it take for this woman?" Damian asked, glancing at Carolla and then back to the clerk.

"Hmm… Ms. Carolla is quite tall and her measurements are quite… unique, so it may take a bit longer. But if you'd prefer not to wait, we do have a suit in stock that should fit her. Would you like to try it?"

"What? You actually have a suit that fits him?"

Damian was visibly surprised. It wasn't every day someone had a suit that matched Carolla's massive frame.

"I thought you'd need a custom suit for sure, but apparently they have something ready for you. This shop really is the best in the imperial capital."

"No kidding…"

Even Carolla looked a little surprised at the idea of something off-the-rack fitting her.

10 AM. The Kingsman Bakery Lucerin Branch—a massive franchise that brought tears of blood to every local bakery owner—was already open and bustling with customers.

Damian and Carolla, now sharply dressed in suits and black sunglasses, observed the steady stream of customers entering the bakery.

With each click of their polished shoes, the pair walked confidently toward the Kingsman Bakery.
