Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Hearing Sara's offer, Kael instantly beamed with delight.

Half of the boars sold—just like that!

"Wild boar meat of this quality usually sells for 2,400 Mora per kilo. These look to be around 180 to 200 kilograms each. I'll give you 480,000 Mora per boar. For three, that's... let's see... 1.44 million Mora total."

That much?!

Kael was stunned. He didn't expect selling wild game could rake in such crazy profit.

No wonder he was able to support a family through hunting in his second life simulation.

He thought to himself—maybe in his real life here in Mondstadt, he should consider being a hunter.

Conveniently, he had a talent that granted him +20 attribute points every time he killed a beast.

As a hunter, not only could he earn a living—he could also grow stronger.

Two birds, one stone.

"This is my first sale, so I'll give you a discount. Just 1.13 million Mora. Big sis Sara, I hope you'll keep supporting my business!"

Good Hunter was the only restaurant in all of Mondstadt City—definitely worth building a long-term relationship with.

Sara smiled. "If the meat you bring is always this good, then of course. Sit tight—I'll go count out the Mora for you."

Kael sat at one of the outdoor tables at Good Hunter, taking in the view of Mondstadt's streets.

A gentle breeze blew by. The blue skies and white clouds stretched overhead, mingling with the Gothic architecture. From the terrace, he could overlook the entire commercial street of the city.

Kael felt that if he had a mug of beer right now… it'd be absolute perfection.

Knights of Favonius Headquarters.

Jean watched Amber sob uncontrollably and couldn't help but worry.

"Amber, if you're not feeling well today, you should go home and rest."

Amber looked up at Jean, tears still clinging to her cheeks.

"Captain Jean... I don't even know what's wrong with me today. I just feel so... empty. Like something's missing, and it hurts so bad."

Jean tried to soothe her. "It's alright. You've had a lot on your plate lately. Maybe you're just overwhelmed. Take a few days off, rest, and come back when you're feeling better."

Amber nodded quietly and left the headquarters like a ghost.

Jean had told her it was stress.

But Amber knew—this wasn't stress.

She had felt this emotion once before, back when her grandfather left Mondstadt.

Back then too, she had felt this hollow ache in her chest, like something precious had vanished.

But she'd pulled through—her natural optimism, and the support of the Knights of Favonius, had helped her recover.

This time was different.

This feeling was a hundred times worse.

Amber felt like there was a massive hole inside her heart, one that no amount of joy or distraction could ever fill.

She stared down at her hand, then pressed it to her chest.

The pain... the emptiness here was almost unbearable.

Why did she feel like this?

Why did it hurt so much?

Why did she feel like... she'd never be okay again?

What was happening to her?

Like a soul lost in the wind, Amber wandered aimlessly toward Mondstadt's commercial street...
