Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Tsunade’s Necklace

Shizune, who had just returned, teased him a bit.

Aoba couldn't help but roll his eyes and went back to the kitchen again.

Seeing this, Shizune smiled even more, put on an apron, and went into the kitchen to help.

It wasn't until everything was prepared that Tsunade finally returned from outside.

Unlike Shizune, who looked exhausted, Tsunade looked frustrated, as if her face had the words "Don't bother me" written all over it.

Strangely, though, there was no smell of alcohol on her this time.

"I'm back," Tsunade greeted weakly.

She didn't even bother changing shoes. After taking them off, she walked barefoot onto the floor and entered.

"Welcome back, Tsunade-sama. Walking barefoot isn't good for your health," Shizune reminded her.

"I know!", Tsunade replied weakly and then flopped onto the sofa. Her voluptuous figure immediately sank into it.

The abundant assets on her chest, so exaggerated that they seemed almost inappropriate, were squeezed like dough.

Even her originally loose clothes became deformed under the pressure, stretching to the sides and revealing a large expanse of fair skin.

Soft, smooth, and full of elasticity.

Aoba felt his vision blur, as if all that remained in his sight was the deep abyss of fair skin and the small pendant struggling in the tight crevice.

He was worried that the pendant might get crushed, 'Doesn't Tsunade feel uncomfortable like this?'

Sure enough, just as Aoba thought, Tsunade soon felt discomfort.

She frowned slightly, feeling a tightness in her chest.

This forced her to twist her body and change positions.

As the saying goes, sometimes being too big isn't good either. Many positions become uncomfortable.

Tsunade turned to lie on her side on the sofa. Her long, toned, and yet fleshy legs instinctively curled up together.

Like Shizune, she was also barefoot. Her soles, slightly reddened from walking on the floor, were now displayed in front of Aoba.

Following the smooth, fair arch of her foot upward, one would find a delicate ankle.

Unfortunately, she was wearing her signature dark blue capri pants, so that was all that could be seen.

Further up was her full side hip, her slim waist, the perfectly curved top of her shirt, and the exposed portion of her fair skin.

What amazed Aoba was that the dough-like softness that had just been compressed by Tsunade had somehow regained its original roundness.

As the saying goes, when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes back at you.

Tsunade also noticed Aoba's gaze and couldn't help but smirk mischievously.

"Oi! Kid, what are you looking at?", Just as Aoba was caught off guard, Tsunade suddenly spoke.

Aoba immediately snapped out of it. That abyss was truly terrifying, even he couldn't resist its gravitational pull. [T/N: The greater the mass, greater the attraction]

By the time he looked up, he was already facing Tsunade's unfriendly stare.

Although he was just a child, and Tsunade wouldn't have any extra thoughts, he knew that Tsunade was in a bad mood. If he didn't answer properly, he'd probably get punched.

"Sensei, you always wear that necklace. Does it have some special meaning?", Aoba pointed at the necklace trapped between Tsunade's assets with his right index finger.

His innocent expression seemed completely genuine.

Tsunade hadn't expected Aoba to be curious about this. A slight daze appeared on her face.

She slowly sat up, rescuing the necklace from the depths of her cleavage, and couldn't help but ask, "Do you want it?"

"Would Sensei be willing to give it to me?", Aoba asked back.

Looking at Aoba's cheeky smile, Tsunade suddenly felt the scene before her blur.

She seemed to see Nawaki's happy face when he first received the necklace.

But in the next moment, that face turned into a mangled corpse.

Her body trembled involuntarily, but she quickly adjusted herself and stuffed the necklace back.

"Hmph, I don't want to give it to you," Tsunade pouted childishly.

'A real tsundere.'

Aoba appropriately showed a disappointed expression, looking a bit dejected, "I really wanted it."

Tsunade's eyes flickered as she explained, "This is a keepsake left by my grandfather. If you ever surpass me, I'll give it to you."

"Really? Then I'll work twice as hard!", Aoba solemnly promised Tsunade.

"...", Watching his excited reaction, Tsunade pursed her lips and fell into silence, unsure how to continue the conversation.

"Alright, the food is ready. Tsunade-sama, put on your slippers and eat," Shizune placed Tsunade's slippers beside her.

"Food! I'm starving!", Tsunade put on her slippers and headed straight for the dining table, not wanting to continue the topic.

"Wash your hands first!", Shizune reminded her again.

Tsunade obediently walked into the kitchen, washed her hands, and then came to the dining table.

Aoba and Shizune had already set up all the dishes and utensils.

Tsunade sat down in front of her portion of food, which was directly across from Aoba.

Unable to wait, she immediately picked up a piece of tempura and stuffed it into her mouth.

Before swallowing, she had already started talking, "Oh yeah! Shizune, do you still have money?"

Shizune, who had just picked up a fried shrimp, froze for a moment, and then her expression darkened, "Tsunade-sama, did you lose all the money again?"

Aoba suddenly understood. No wonder Tsunade didn't smell like alcohol today. It turned out she had lost almost all her money and couldn't afford to drink.

Tsunade shrank her neck slightly and encouraged herself, saying, "I'll win it all back tomorrow!"

Shizune took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, "We're already out of money!"

"Eh? I remember I earned quite a bit from treating someone last time," Tsunade asked in confusion.

"Tsunade-sama, you probably forgot. The last time you treated someone was months ago. And, do you even realize how much money you've lost over this time?"

"Uh…", Tsunade finally realized that she had been back in the village for quite a while.

Her mood sank even further.

She initially wanted to ask about Shizune's salary situation, but seeing Shizune still holding back her anger, she decided against it.

Then, she glanced at Aoba, who was quietly eating.

She suddenly turned her head and stared at him without blinking.

Tsunade's sudden action startled Aoba.

Had he not yet "made" Tsunade drop some gold coins, and she was already planning to squeeze them out of her disciple?

"Sensei, what's the matter?", Aoba swallowed his food with difficulty.

Tsunade narrowed her eyes slightly but didn't answer, seemingly lost in thought.

"Forget it, just eat," In the end, Tsunade sighed lightly and continued eating.

However, from the way she ate, it was obvious she wasn't in high spirits.

She had indeed thought about asking Aoba for money. She knew that he got money from Naruto and Tenten every day.

But after roughly calculating, it seemed that even after all these months, the money he had received wouldn't be enough for a single dice roll of hers.

So she gave up.

Aoba also breathed a sigh of relief.
