Chapter 30 - 30. A Note from Nowhere

Heaven Dou Empire, Crown Prince Palace

Looking at the magnificent palace adorned with gold and diamonds, Salas silently gave it a rating in his heart.

"10 out of 10," Salas muttered quietly. Even in his Earth life, not even movies had shown him such a beautiful place.

Although he had Salas's memories, seeing it now with his current vision still broadened his horizons.

"In any empire, royal families are known for their extravagance and luxury... Sigh. I hope to have such a place for myself one day." Thinking like this, Salas silently infiltrated the palace.

Yes, his plans had changed again. Going to the Breaking Clan couldn't be done in just two weeks—it was located in the Star Luo Empire, and Salas didn't even know its exact location. It was better to visit next month after gathering more information.

So now, with time on his hands, he came here to get a glimpse of Xue Qinghe—or more specifically, Qian Renxue, the young master of Spirit Hall.

Sneaking around, Salas soon found Qian Renxue's bedroom.

Looking at the room, which lacked any feminine accessories and was filled only with masculine ones, Salas felt a bit disappointed.

"It's already night. Why isn't she here yet?" Salas wondered.

He casually released his spiritual power to scan the entire palace.

Now that his spiritual power had reached the Spiritual Domain Realm—a qualitative leap from the Spiritual Abyss Realm—Salas wasn't worried about other Titled Douluo sensing his scan.

"Oh, she's coming," Salas soon noticed. Qian Renxue, disguised as Xue Qinghe, was heading in his direction. Two powerful auras also lurked nearby, discreetly following her.

"I need to find a chance to teach those two a lesson…" Salas thought begrudgingly. He didn't like those two—She Long and Ci Xue, the two Titled Douluo. Although the old Salas's grudge had nothing to do with him now, if not for them, he wouldn't have lost his position as Platinum Bishop and become a wanted man by Spirit Hall.

Every time he walked the streets and saw his wanted posters plastered on the walls and gates, Salas felt inexplicably wronged…

He did nothing wrong. Why was everyone badmouthing him now? He didn't steal anything… he just helped Spirit Hall share some burdens.

All in all, he was forced. Forced by She Long and Ci Xue intimidating him—pressuring him to summon his Martial Soul in the future, which would expose him.

"But not today… I'll give them a dark beating some other time. Intimidating, right? I'll show you how to intimidate..." Salas muttered to himself.

Soon, Xue Qinghe entered the bedroom. The two protectors left silently, retreating far away. It was Qian Renxue's private time, after all.

Salas watched the Crown Prince move around the room… time passed, but the expected sight of Xue Qinghe transforming into Qian Renxue didn't appear.

"How sad… My trip today seems to be a waste," Salas thought, disappointed.

"But… since I've already come, how can I leave without doing anything?" Salas's thoughts turned mischievous.

Still in his "Mirroring Stealth" form, Salas took out a piece of paper and a quill from his storage ring.

A few minutes later, when Xue Qinghe sat on the bed to meditate, Salas moved in front of her and held the paper between two fingers.

The moment he let go, the paper appeared in front of her as if it had teleported.

Xue Qinghe, who had just closed 'his' eyes, suddenly snapped them open, catching the paper mid-air.

'He' looked around warily. Though puzzled at how a piece of paper could appear out of thin air, 'he' calmed down, eyes lowering to the note in hand.

"I know your secret."

The moment she read the contents, 'his' pupils shrank to pinpoints. Salas, still standing right in front of her, quietly watched her reaction with amusement.

Xue Qinghe didn't call for her protectors. She simply stared at the paper, many thoughts racing through her mind.

If the paper wasn't sent using a teleportation-like ability, then it must've been done by a very powerful soul master.

And...

Whoever sent it was probably still in the room… maybe even close by. Not knowing what secret the sender meant, she didn't dare act rashly and expose herself.

Her eyes soon grew calm. She took out a quill and wrote on the same paper.

"What do you mean?"

Watching her write that, Salas couldn't help but laugh inside.

Although he wanted to mess with her a little and leave a small scar on her mind, he didn't want to go too far. That wouldn't benefit him.

And if he wrote a reply, it would only confirm her suspicions—that someone was still in the room, watching her every move.

How terrifying would that be? Someone bypassing her two Titled Douluo guards and still observing her every action?

Although it would be fun to see her reaction, Salas didn't want Qian Renxue to run back to Spirit Hall in fear. After all, he couldn't afford for her to become a god before him.

"I just wanted to leave an impression I can use to speak with her next time… and I've done that. No need to drag it on or make things worse," Salas thought to himself.

The sentence "I know your secret" was vague. A smart person like Qian Renxue would soon notice the loopholes. If she calmed down and thought it through, she'd realize she hadn't done anything recently that could expose her identity.

That could only mean the person was referring to something else.

And with no follow-up demands, it likely wasn't a very valuable secret…

Otherwise, wouldn't the sender have made threats or asked for something?

Salas watched Qian Renxue pacing back and forth for a while but soon lost interest and decided to leave. After all, if she had been in her true form, there would've been a reason to stay and admire her beauty and curves. But what was the point of secretly watching a 'man'?

"Should I give her a secret room experience someday?" Salas mused silently as he left the palace without a sound.
