Chapter 13 - Trouble That Can't Be Avoided

"The Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique is divided into three volumes: upper, middle, and lower. The upper volume has three layers. With the host's current body strength, it can only withstand the tempering of the first layer. If the host forcefully undergoes the tempering of higher layers, it will harm the host's body."

"Once the host's body strength reaches the required limit, the system will continue with the tempering of the second and third layers."

The clear voice of the system rang out, explaining slowly.

After hearing the system's explanation, Ke Bei's gloomy expression softened a little.

"How can I increase my body strength?"

He wasn't a genetic enhancer and didn't know how to increase his body strength. Generally speaking, only when a genetic enhancer breaks through a bottleneck will their body strength increase. Ke Bei was just an ordinary person. Without the mysterious system, his body strength would always remain at a certain level. How could he increase it?

This time, the system didn't immediately answer Ke Bei's question but fell into a long silence.

Ke Bei wasn't in a hurry either. He believed that the system would definitely come up with a solution. Otherwise, why would he work so hard to complete the mission? Why would he put in so much effort if he couldn't even obtain the reward?

Sure enough, as Ke Bei expected, after a full half an hour, the clear voice of the system sounded again.

"Considering the host's special situation, the system will present a copy of the Peiyuan Gong. Do you want to claim it immediately?"

"Claim it."

Ke Bei smiled. The system was quite humanized. Although he couldn't learn the entire upper volume of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique at once, it at least provided compensation.

A golden ray of light suddenly shot out, and a large amount of information about the Peiyuan Gong was imprinted in detail in Ke Bei's mind.

"Good stuff, really good stuff."

Ke Bei jumped up in excitement. The Peiyuan Gong turned out to be an internal cultivation method cheat book, and it wasn't an ordinary one. An ordinary internal cultivation method cheat book accumulates true qi through breathing techniques, but the Peiyuan Gong was different. Although it also cultivated true qi through breathing, the true qi cultivated wouldn't gather in the dantian but would disperse throughout the limbs and bones.

Using the true qi to nourish the body, the body strength could be continuously enhanced. In principle, there was no bottleneck to this increase. As long as one kept practicing the Peiyuan Gong and there was always true qi to nourish the body, the body strength could be enhanced indefinitely.

"Roar roar~ Roar~"

Just as Ke Bei couldn't wait to sit down and start practicing, a series of intense and shrill roars sounded one after another.

"What's going on? Are the zombies suddenly rioting?"

Ke Bei crouched behind the small mound and carefully poked his head out from the withered grass. Then he was shocked by the strange scene in front of him.

He saw sixteen burly men wearing pitch-black armor and holding huge broadswords forming a circle with a diameter of about a hundred meters.

Hundreds of red-haired zombies outside the circle were roaring furiously. but no matter how they attacked, they couldn't step into the circle.

The sixteen men were like statues, easily blocking all the zombies outside.

Inside the circle, a young man about the same age as Ke Bei was fighting with three red-haired zombies, holding a blood-colored long sword. His movements were elegant, and his attacks were as swift as the wind.

"Tsk tsk, what a grand scene."

Glancing at the young man in white inside the circle, Ke Bei clicked his tongue in amazement, sighed to himself, and then slowly stood up. With the Peiyuan Gong on his mind, he didn't want to hunt zombies anymore. The most important thing now was to practice the Peiyuan Gong well and increase his body strength as soon as possible.

Glancing at the sixteen burly men blocking his way back to the city, Ke Bei planned to go around them. He didn't want to stir up trouble. Besides, just by looking at them, he could tell that these people had quite a background and were not to be trifled with.

However, Ke Bei clearly underestimated the arrogance of this group of people. Just as Ke Bei was walking on a path about ten meters away from them, one of the sixteen burly men crashed through the red-haired zombies in front of him and, with a few strides, blocked Ke Bei's way.

"Who are you? Why are you here?"

The burly man looked arrogant, stared at Ke Bei expressionlessly, and asked coldly.

"I'm just here to hunt zombies. Now I'm tired and hungry and want to go home. What's the problem?"

The burly man's attitude made Ke Bei very unhappy, but to avoid unnecessary trouble, he still patiently explained.

"Of course there's a problem. The Mass Grave has been blocked off. How did you get in?"

A fierce light flashed in the burly man's eyes, and he shouted loudly, holding his huge machete across his chest, ready to attack at any moment.

"Blocked off?"

"The Mass Grave can be blocked off? Is this your property?"

Instead of answering the burly man's question, Ke Bei retorted.

The burly man's overbearing tone made Ke Bei very uncomfortable. He had been making concessions, but the other party was pressing him further.

"I asked you how you got in."

"You'd better answer honestly, or else, you'll die."

The burly man's voice suddenly rose a few notches, and he stared at Ke Bei with eyes as big as copper bells.

"Damn it! How I got in is none of your business. Get out of my way."

Even a clay figurine has a bit of temper. Seeing the burly man's fierce appearance, Ke Bei's anger flared up.

"You're courting death."

The burly man didn't expect that Ke Bei would dare to curse at him. With a furious shout, he raised his iron fist and smashed it hard towards Ke Bei's head.

Facing the burly man's fist, Ke Bei neither dodged nor evaded. He casually threw a punch in return. Now Ke Bei was no longer an ordinary person. Although he had only learned the first layer of the Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique, his strength was much greater than that of an ordinary person, and even stronger than that of a first-level genetic enhancer. As for exactly how strong he was, he would have to test it out.

"crack"

A clear sound of bones breaking came from where their fists collided.

A look of fear flashed in the burly man's eyes. His arm had actually been broken by a single punch from the young man in front of him. He was a first-level genetic enhancer, yet his arm was broken by someone with a single punch. How strong was the other person?

Ignoring the pain of his broken arm, the burly man hastily retreated. A strong person who was likely to be a second-level genetic enhancer was not someone he could provoke.

Ke Bei raised his own fist and took a look. He could hardly believe that he had such great strength.

Breaking a first-level genetic enhancer's arm with a single punch? Shit, the Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique is so damn powerful. This is just the first layer. How strong would he be if he learned the entire upper volume?

Ke Bei's heart burned with excitement, and his eyes sparkled with eagerness.

"Brother, you've struck so hard. It's obvious that you're not giving me, Pei San, any face."

The young man in white, who didn't know when he had walked out of the circle, came up to Ke Bei and raised his delicate eyebrows slightly.

This group of people didn't know what method they had used, causing all the red-haired zombies that had been surrounding them to disperse. The sixteen burly men surrounded Ke Bei and the young man in white in the center.

"Sorry, I don't know you, and I don't want to cause trouble. It was your man who attacked first."

Ke Bei looked at the young man neither humbly nor arrogantly and said in a deep voice.

"Oh, really?"

The blood-colored long sword in the young man in white's hand vibrated slightly, and he had a mischievous smile on his face.

"Just tell me what you want. I'll take it on."

Ke Bei frowned. Judging from the young man in white's actions, it was obvious that this matter couldn't be easily resolved. Although Ke Bei didn't want to cause trouble, it didn't mean that he was afraid of it.

With his current strength, he really wasn't afraid of them.

"Today is my first time going out of the city for training. Your skills are quite good, much better than those clumsy zombies. If you can withstand three of my sword strikes, I'll let go of the fact that you injured my man. What do you think?"

The young man stared straight at Ke Bei, and his white battle robe fluttered in the wind.

"I'm not a good sparring partner. I only know how to kill."

A three-inch-long willow-leaf flying knife appeared in Ke Bei's palm, and he said expressionlessly.
