Chapter three
Liam's POV
I woke up with my head banging so hard like I had been hit overnight. I opened my eyes to look around, and that was when I remembered what had happened with the lady I met the previous night.
"She was so hot!" I muttered, smiling, and turned to the other side to touch her, hoping she was there, but nowhere to be found.
"What?" I sprang up from my bed immediately and walked to the bathroom but it was empty. I walked back to the bedroom and was still looking around when my eyes caught a bundle of money placed on the nightstand beside the table.
"Is she really joking? Maybe she's coming back to pick it up," I thought.
I picked up my phone and scrolled down for a few minutes, but she still wasn't coming out of where she was hiding.
Holl up! What does she take me for?
Dropping money on the nightstand for me and suddenly disappearing?
I took the phone placed on the nightstand and reached out to the receptionist.
"Hi, good morning," I said, politely.
"Good morning, sir; how may I be of service to you, sir?" The receptionist asked.
"Did a lady walk out of this hotel a few hours ago or minutes ago?" I asked.
"Yes sir," the receptionist replied.
"Is there any way I can reach her?" I asked.
"No sir, she didn't drop her email or phone number," the receptionist responded.
"Okay, thank you," I said and gently placed the phone back, staring at the money, flashing back to what had led me to the bar yesterday.
I was kind of feeling down the previous day and I figured I needed to be in a lively place or bar to put my moods together and get things straight.
I was staring as everyone passed by with different ladies while some were dancing at the other end when my eyes suddenly caught this beautiful figure. I ignored them since she wasn't the reason I came to the bar.
I checked my time, thinking of leaving the bar in the next thirty minutes when the lady suddenly approached me with a bottle of alcohol, which I guessed was her third bottle.
But how can a lady be drinking three bottles of alcohol in less than an hour without blinking an eye? I asked myself as she gently sat on my lap.
I didn't care at first, but then she started giving me the best lap dance ever and I had to reciprocate since it felt so good.
She asked to be taken to a room, and I did justice to her overnight, both in the bathroom and inside the bedroom. It was what I wanted so I couldn't decline.
I was hoping to talk to her and get to know more about her when I woke up now and she has mysteriously disappeared.
I bet she didn't know who I was before dropping off money for me. I would have given her ten times of this bundle.
I was still lost in deep thoughts when my phone ringing tone suddenly jerked back to reality. I checked and realized it was Noah Blackwood, my best friend and adviser.
I picked it up immediately and placed it beside me.
"Hi, Noah," I said, calmly.
"Where have you been since yesterday night? I've been trying to reach you, but your number has not been going through," Noah half-yelled.
I can't blame him for yelling because I had already promised to go out with him last night, but my plans changed when my mood changed.
"Aren't you going to answer, Liam?" Noah's question came up, furious.
"Noah, can you look up to someone for me, it's urgent?" I asked, not minding his question or what he was furious about.
"What is that?" Noah asked.
"A lady, look into the Velvet Lounge CCTV camera. A lady stepped out of this lounge a few minutes ago," I said.
"Are you at the Velvet Lounge?" Noah asked.
"Yes, Noah," I replied.
"I'm sending a car to pick you up now," Noah said.
"Firstly, look into what I told you about before sending any car over here," I said.
"Fine, I will get back to you in a few minutes," Noah said and immediately ended the call.
Due to my influence, it's very easy to get vital information or log into any company's CCTV camera if I want to. Any denial will bring the company down instantly.
I paced around the room patiently waiting for Noah's call while I kept staring at the money she placed on the nightstand.
Ladies wait for me to drop money for them after a one-night stand, and most of them even try to force themselves on me, but I push them away because I don't want anything to do with them again after the one-night stand, but she's different.
The opposite of how I treat ladies. She dropped a bundle of money for me and left before I could get the chance to see her clear face.
A few minutes later, Noah's call came, and I hurriedly picked it up without much hesitation.
"What did you find?" I asked immediately the call was connected.
"Nothing Liam," Noah replied.
"What do you mean, nothing? Explain in detail because I'm sure the CCTV camera here caught her face very clearly," I asked.
"Liam, I indeed saw a lady walking out of the Velvet lounge, but she wasn't looking up at the CCTV camera.
She had her face covered till she got outside and got into her car. She had no plate number on her car, and at that same time, two other ladies were walking out of the lounge, but they didn't get into any car. Instead, they booked a cab, so I didn't quite get which of the ladies you are referring to," Noah explained.
"Do you have the CCTV video downloaded? I can take a grasp of who the lady is just by looking at her," I said.
"Okay, I'd send it immediately. About the car that's coming to pick you up," Noah said.
"I will let you know when I'm done before sending a car," I said and immediately ended the call to check the video he had sent.
I checked the video sent to me, and I immediately recognized the lady's shape, but I couldn't see her face truly due to the fact that she covered her face and prevented the CCTV camera from capturing them.
I lay on the bed, helpless, staring at the ceiling. I quickly informed Noah that I was done, and he hurriedly sent a car down to the velvet lounge after telling him that he shouldn't show up at the lounge.
I took the wheels and started driving around, hoping to get my mind off the lady, but it wasn't working the more I tried to.
I was a few meters away from the city when I started feeling the wind of the river and I quickly sensed I was almost close to the Everest Riverside. I was hoping to stare at the river for a while before driving off when something accidentally crossed my eyes, and I saw a lady standing at the edge, ready to jump off the cliff.
I packed my car immediately and ran towards her, but before I could get there, she already jumped, but I was able to hold onto her hand.
I don't know if I saved her or if she was dragging me down into the river because I could feel my legs lifting.
