Chapter 42 - Tony: Uncle Obadiah Is Behind The Scenes? Impossible!

"Tony Stark, wearing the Mark armor, the turbulent world Mr. Luo spoke of has already begun!" Gwen thought as she glanced at the diary during a break.

She had discovered something quite remarkable—this diary could be stored within the body and only taken out when needed.

She was even more convinced that this notebook was not ordinary!

Gwen was already busy with her homework every day, and didn't have much time to analyze all the various pieces of information, especially concerning acting skills. For her, the diary served as an important source to better understand Teacher Luo, but that was all it was—just a source.

"Ms. Luo hasn't come to help with homework for several days. Is she off sunbathing?" Gwen blinked her beautiful eyes and pursed her lips in thought.

She couldn't understand why Luo Chen would write about sunbathing in his diary.

She suddenly recalled that in the first few days of Luo Chen's diary, there were entries that read, "On X-month-X, I was basking in the sun," and again on "X-month-X, today was another day of sunbathing." There was even an entry stating, "On X-month-X, it was raining today, so I had to find another place to sunbathe, waiting for Tony Stark to be kidnapped."

Over and over again, Luo Chen mentioned sunbathing, which left Gwen curious. Was the sun really that special?

Although tanning was considered a trend in the Lighthouse country, with bronzed or wheat-colored skin being a symbol of charm, Luo Chen still had a pretty face, and his skin was rare among Asians, with a cold white complexion.

She began to wonder, where exactly did he go to sunbathe every day? No matter how much he tanned, it wouldn't turn his skin dark!

"Could it be that Teacher Luo likes bronze-skinned women?" Gwen blushed at the thought.

Judging by the women Luo Chen seemed to admire in his diary, it appeared he preferred those with fuller figures. But then again, he wasn't bad-looking himself.

[Which hell timeline is this again? I can't quite figure it out.

I almost thought it was Tom Cruise's version of Tony Stark, or maybe the timeline had mutated.

Could it be that in this timeline, Obadiah isn't going to kill Tony Stark? Is he going to be a good guy? Otherwise, why hasn't he made a move for so long?

This is illogical. As the villain of the first movie, Obadiah has no reason to suddenly turn over a new leaf. If that were the case, who would the villain of the first film be? Still Vanko in Russia?

I don't understand. This is all unreasonable!

Obadiah's sudden "whitewashing" is really catching me off guard. In the future, I must remember not to be superstitious about the plot and to stay alert!]

A paragraph from Luo Chen's diary appeared at the end of today's entry, leaving everyone who read it stunned.

"How is it possible? How is it possible? How is it possible?!" Tony Stark exclaimed three times in rapid succession. "How is this even possible?!"

He jumped up from his seat almost instantly. He had, in fact, entertained a vague suspicion about Obadiah once—just for a brief moment—but that thought was fleeting. He never actually entertained it seriously.

Because both of Tony's parents had passed away when he was a child, and he was young at the time, it was Obadiah who had helped secure Tony's position as the chairman of Stark Industries. He stabilized the turbulent company, while Tony focused on developing and researching new technologies. Obadiah had been responsible for handling the company's operations, and their cooperation had been seamless.

Thanks to Obadiah's support in allowing Tony to be a hands-off owner, Stark Industries had avoided chaos. It could be said that Obadiah was an indispensable core figure in the company. Over the years, Tony had always respected him, and Obadiah had earned his fair share of business dividends, placing him among the wealthiest in the Lighthouse country.

Their relationship had been one of mutual success.

Even the brief moment of suspicion had stemmed from Tony's realization that he might be kidnapped in Afghanistan. When he thought about it, he noticed that Obadiah had been the one to encourage him to go there. This caused a slight doubt to form in Tony's mind.

But that doubt was fleeting, and beyond that, there was nothing else to suspect.

He truly considered Obadiah his own uncle—like a father figure since his own father had passed away. He was almost like a surrogate father. Unless there was solid evidence, Tony could never bring himself to believe that Obadiah would betray him.

But now, what was revealed in the diary was undeniable proof.

Tony realized that it wasn't some inexplicable shift in the timeline that had caused Obadiah to turn into a good person. No, it was because Tony had seen the diary in advance and taken precautions by refusing to go to Afghanistan. Without the opportunity to set up the attack with the warlords, Obadiah had never been able to execute his plan. This puzzled Luo Chen, who had mentioned it in the diary.
