Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 : Beginning of the evolution of the system!

For some reason, a multitude of adventurers had invaded my dungeon.

Their ranks ranged from G to E.

With so many of them and a few deaths, I had accumulated a ton of dungeon points!

And I quickly understood why when a notification from my system appeared.

[Congratulations! The Adventurers' Guild has declared that your dungeon is now rank F!]

[Due to your newfound notoriety, you have earned 1,000 dungeon points!]

My eyes widened as my heart raced! I stood there, speechless, staring at the notification. Rank F, damn! A huge grin spread across my face as I gazed at the screen.

But…

[Ding! A new dungeon feature has been activated: Ranking System!]

[Your true rank: G]

[From now on, you can install traps.]

[Dungeon System Evolution: 1/3]

Well, I had somewhat expected this. After all, in the game Dungeon Master, true rank is determined by the dungeon's evolution, not by its reputation.

Evolution unlocks new features:

Bosses,

New dungeon mechanics,

Even system upgrades,

And so on.

I already knew what I had to do to progress.

But back to dungeon points—I had a total of 2,000.

And adventurers kept bringing me more regularly.

I decided to buy an attack skill so I wouldn't be completely defenseless:

[Attack Enhancement]: Temporarily strengthens your body or an object, increasing attack power. You can focus more energy on a target, but this consumes more mana. Cooldown: 1 second.

Cost: 175 dungeon points.

Then, I installed a few traps:

Spiked Pit Trap (100 DP).

Pit Trap with Auto-Close Mechanism (200 DP).

The first trap was deliberately visible to encourage caution.

The second, however, was a completely undetectable pit trap, perfectly camouflaged in the dungeon floor.

What? Am I devious? Not at all… Okay, fine! But what can I do? It's my role to be sneaky ~

And it worked brilliantly. Countless adventurers fell victim to these traps. Of course, over time, information about them spread. Their effectiveness decreased slightly, but they remained deadly because they covered the entire dungeon floor.

A simple jump wasn't enough to avoid them. That meant that even knowing about their existence, adventurers still struggled. Some got caught while trying to jump, while others simply forgot their locations…

Thanks for the points, NOOBS!

I was thrilled. My grin widened, my eyes squinted with pleasure, and before I knew it, a bit of drool dripped from my mouth. Watching my points skyrocket was incredibly satisfying.

Without hesitation, I spent 5,000 dungeon points to upgrade my system!

[Ding! You have spent 5,000 dungeon points on the dungeon system!]

[Dungeon System Evolution: 2/3]

Now, only one thing remained… My own evolution!

But I could only sigh when I saw the cost:10,000 points!

The real problem here was that I was just a poor slime. Alone, I was considered the weakest creature. Yet my very first evolution cost a fortune!

Imagine if I had chosen the Dragon or Demon race? How much would their first evolution cost?

Well… actually, I already knew. Back when I played Dungeon Master, I had tested those races. Their first evolution cost several million points. The exact amount varied depending on the race.

That's one of the reasons I chose the slime race, in addition to its unique abilities.

Never underestimate slimes! Yes, they're weak at the start.

But the more they evolve, the more formidable they become—eventually rivaling dragons and demons!

Of course, it takes many evolutions.

But I don't mind.

For now, I'm just watching my dungeon points climb, thinking about my next dungeon upgrades.
