Anjana led Iris and Lucius through a quiet hallway, their footsteps echoing softly against the marble floor. They reached a beautifully carved wooden door at the top floor of the palace.
She opened it gently.
Inside, sunlight streamed through the tall glass windows, lighting up the room with a warm golden glow. The long wooden table in the centre gleamed under the light. The room was quiet, peaceful—yet there was tension in the air.
They weren't alone.
Marcus was already there, sitting comfortably in one of the chairs with his legs crossed. His expensive jacket was draped over the backrest, and he looked completely at ease, like he had been waiting for them.
He raised an eyebrow and gave a smug smile, "Well, well… looks like I have got some competition."
From the far end of the table, Mr. Pratap Singh looked up. Dressed in a clean white kurta and tailored sleeveless jacket, his posture was straight, and his expression calm but sharp.
