As Ellie walked away to grab her a glass of water but at the same time Ellie noticed if Bella been watching her so much, and it was bother her a bit.

''Why is she watching at me like that? Is there something on my face?'' Ellie wondered.

"Here, Drink this," Ellie said while handing Bella a glass of water.

Ellie crossed her arms and sighed

"Anyway, how'd you even manage to cut yourself like this? You know knives are sharp, right?" Her tone was playful, trying to ease the tension.

Bella gave her a flat look.

"Are you making fun of me now?" Bella asked.

Ellie smirked.

"Hmm… not exactly. You're just so sensitive. Let me guess—you're zodiac sign is a Scorpio, right?" Ellie teased.

Bella roll her eyes.

"Shouldn't you have something else to do? You can go back to whatever you were doing!" Bella snapped.

"Are u upset now? I'm just joking. I'am trying to get closer to you now" Ellie said.

Bella blinked by Ellie's unexpected honesty.

"What do you mean?" Bella asked, surprised.

Ellie chuckled.

"Do you have any friends? Can I be that one extra friend?" Ellie joked.

"I don't need one" Bella replied bluntly.

Bella eyes drifting toward Ellie's crisp, stylish outfit.

"And shouldn't you be worrying about yourself? You must got other things to do today!" Bella added.

Ellie leaned back with a grin.

"Ah, I understand know. Is it because of my looked today? No wonder why you were worried so much about my shirt earlier? You must be thought I had something important going on? Well, don't worry—I'm still unemployed. Got all the time in the world." Ellie laughed.

"I'am not worried!" Bella muttered, and quickly looking away but a faint blush creeping up on her face.

Ellie raised her eyebrow at her reaction but decided just not to press it.

"Okay! Since I'm free today, and your hand's out of commission, I guess I'll help finish making your salad." Ellied turned toward the kitchen without waiting for an answer.

Bella frowned, watching Ellie move so casually.

She hesitated, then mumbled under her breath, "Why do you even care?" Bella asked.

Ellie turned back with a cheeky smile.

"Of course! You're my housemate. and I don't want anything bad happening here. This place is already creepy enough. If something happened to you, it'd make it even worse for me!" Ellie laughed, playful and light.

Bella shot her a sharp look.

Are you making fun of me?" Bella replied.

Ellie just winked before crouching down to clean the blood on the floor and counter. Then, she went back to preparing the salad. Bella sat in silence, realizing that somehow, this weird moment had brought them closer.

As Ellie worked, Bella found herself watching her. There was something oddly graceful about the way she handled the knife—effortless, precise.

"You're pretty good at this," Bella commented and crossing her arms.

Ellie glanced up at her, grinning.

"Well, my parents own a restaurant nearby, so it's not a big surprise I know my way around a kitchen"

"Ah… I see." Bella gave a small nod

Ellie raised an eyebrow

"You're not curious at all?

"About?" Bella replied.

"Shouldn't you be asking why I'm not living with them?" Ellie asked.

"It's none of my business, I guess" Bella replied, though there was a slight hesitation in her voice.

Ellie smirked.

"Doesn't matter, I just moved back from Beijing. Quit my job, and next week, I'm taking over my dad's restaurant. So, technically, I'll be a restaurant owner soon." Ellie said it casually, but there was a hint of pride in her tone.

"I'am not even asked her" Bella wondered

By the time the salad was ready, Ellie set the bowl in front of Bella and pulled out a chair beside her.

"Here, eat up" Ellie said, while She rested her chin on her hand, Her eyes sparkling with anticipation as she watched Bella.

Bella frowned at a Ellie intense stare.

"How am I supposed to eat when you're looking at me like that?" Bella replied.

"Like what?" Ellie acted innocent.

"Just stop looking me at that way" Bella replied.

"Why can't I? I don't make any comment either when I know u been watching me the whole time" Ellie said casually.

"Am I?" Bella asked,

"Yes, you are" Ellie replied, still casual

"She's really stubborn person" Bella thought

Bella grabbed her fork and played it off like nothing had happened. She let out a slow breath, studying the woman beside her. She had noticed it already if Ellie looked… different today. Maybe it was the way she carried herself. Either way, Bella couldn't help but noticed how effortlessly charming Ellie now.

Ellie leaned back in her chair before glancing at Bella again with her hesitation eyes.

"If I may ask…" Ellie asked, Her voice was softer now

Still full of her curiosity.

"Last night, I think I saw you at the supermarket near our area with someone. I think it was a woman—but I'm not totally sure, since I only caught a glimpse. You two seems pretty close, but I feel there was some tension between you and her. I just wanted to check if everything's okay?"

Ellie paused, watching Bella closely. Her voice was now filled with concern, though she tried to mask the curiosity. What really happened last night?
