Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Kakarot's Past

In the thirteenth universe, Kakarot was sent to Earth as a baby and was adopted by Gohan, a leading martial arts master on Earth at the time.

At first, Old Gohan, after seeing Kakarot, thought he was an abandoned child and felt sorry for him.

But the young Kakarot was very irritable, like a madman. Fortunately, he was still young, and with Old Gohan's extraordinary strength, he could still suppress him.

Old Gohan was at a loss for a while, so he could only slowly teach him things and, at the same time, write a letter to his mentor, the Turtle Hermit, explaining that he had adopted a child, and although he had a human body, he had a tail, with a fierce character and supernatural strength.

Gohan taught him to speak, but the first words Kakarot learned were 'kill all humans.'

Only when Gohan taught him martial arts and when eating would this child not attack him. He also wouldn't attack animals.

Old Gohan felt very exhausted, but after all, he had picked him up, and he couldn't bear to leave a child, let alone kill him.

He could only hope that through cultivation, he would learn to control himself, but it would probably take a long time.

When Old Gohan wrote a letter to his retired martial arts mentor, he hoped that he could recommend a suitable candidate to help him discipline Kakarot.

But when he sent the letter out, it took a year to get a reply since the letter was lost. Gohan missed the best time to discipline him.

Day after day, year after year, Kakarot also grew up a bit and continued to sneak attack Old Gohan, even sometimes attacking while Old Gohan was sleeping at night.

But every sneak attack ended in failure. Even at night, Old Gohan remained highly vigilant and began to fear him when he realized that Kakarot was not just a problematic child.

Kakarot, when his pod landed on earth, fell off a cliff and hit his head.

Under such circumstances a normal person would undoubtedly die, but Kakarot miraculously survived.

In the original storyline, it was this fall from the cliff that transformed the battle-loving Saiyan Kakarot into the kind and righteous Earthling, Son Goku.

However, in the Thirteenth Universe, Kakarot didn't lose his memories.

The Saiyan programming instilled in him as a child when traveling in space had instructed him to be ruthless and violent, and these ideas still remained in his subconscious.

Over this long period, the only thing Old Gohan managed to change about Kakarot was how he addressed him, from 'old geezer' to 'Grandpa Gohan.' But that didn't stop Kakarot from ambushing him every time.

Until years later, Kakarot grew older, and he happened to encounter a full moon.

This awakened his Saiyan power, and he transformed into a Great Ape.

Having lost control, Kakarot stomped Gohan's small wooden house.

Because he had been constantly observing Kakarot's progress, Gohan's assessment of Kakarot's current strength was that he didn't pose a threat to him yet.

But when he sensed a strong presence, Old Gohan instinctively raised his hand to block it.

At this time, Kakarot neared the age when he first met Bulma. His combat power wasn't particularly low since he had been training, and with the multiplication from the Great Ape transformation, he caught Old Gohan off guard and ended his life in an unexpected way.

...

After reverting to his human form, Kakarot embarked on a solitary journey. He remembered what his mother and Raditz had taught him: killing all humans was his mission.

Day after day, year after year, several years quickly passed. The cities of Earth were plunged into chaos. News of a monster wreaking havoc topped the headlines.

No army could defeat him. Master Roshi, who had retired, couldn't bear to sit idly after seeing the death of innocent people on the news and decided to find the problem and resolve everything.

Taking his close disciple Krillin with him, he relied on news reports to slowly track the mysterious monster.

Master Roshi found the latest destroyed village.

He looked at the huge ape-like footprints on the ground and at the people of this village who were either crushed to death by heavy objects or had their bodies torn apart, but there were no signs of biting.

This indicated that the opponent wasn't just a monster. It seemed more like they were targeting humans.

There were traces of pigs and sheep in this village being eaten, but none of the dead humans were missing arms or legs.

Also, the monster initiated attacks, but no one could find any trace of the monster at other times.

Upon hearing his teacher's explanation, Krillin felt a chill down his spine.

"Master, was the monster controlled by humans?"

Master Roshi nodded. In his opinion, there must be someone behind all this. He had seen many villages destroyed, and the monster's huge footprints would disappear after.

Master Roshi instructed Krillin to search the surrounding area for any survivors.

Krillin, carrying his turtle shell, ran into the distant jungle. With his teacher around, he wasn't particularly afraid of encountering the monster.

Krillin ran for a while before finding Kakarot, naked and covered in dirt, sleeping soundly.

Shaking his body, he woke Kakarot up.

Kakarot opened his eyes and saw Krillin. "Are you a human? Why don't you have a nose?"

Krillin, seeing that Kakarot was alright, said, "Come back with me to Master Roshi."

As he turned around, Kakarot, who was about to attack, saw the turtle shell on his back.

"You don't have a nose, and you have a turtle shell. Are you a turtle?"

Krillin mistakenly thought that Kakarot had also heard of the famous Turtle School and said, "That's right, I'm a member of the Turtle School."

Seeing that Kakarot didn't follow him, Krillin said, "There is a small river not far from here, perfect for you to wash yourself. I'll go with you."

"Of course, you guys like water the most."

The two jumped into the river together and played in the water.

Kakarot walked with Krillin on the forest path.

His mother's voice repeated in his mind, telling Kakarot to kill Krillin.

However, Kakarot was convinced that Krillin was a turtle and insisted on not killing him.

Krillin asked, "What's your name?"

Kakarot replied, "My name is Kakarot."

Krillin put his arm around his shoulders and introduced himself.

"My name is Krillin; we will be friends from now on."

"Friend, are you my friend?"

Just before seeing Master Roshi, Kakarot may have sensed danger and fled.

Later Krillin told Master Roshi about meeting Kakarot.

Master Roshi and Krillin searched the area but couldn't find him.

...

Kakarot, after growing up, apart from transforming into a giant ape and killing people during a full moon, would fight and kill at other times.

Two more years passed before Master Roshi found Kakarot transformed into a giant ape, destroying a city.

After Master Roshi arrived, he was also in a dilemma. Using a full-power Maximum Kamehameha, he could kill Kakarot at this time. But there were ordinary people in this city, and I didn't want to hurt them.

Master Roshi fought with him, and during the battle, he discovered the weakness of the giant ape and cut off his tail with an attack.

Kakarot's last attack was disorganized. Master Roshi had to first save the people, and his leg was injured.

Kakarot reverted to his human form. When Krillin recognized him, he told Master Roshi that Kakarot was the child he had encountered two years ago.

With his tail severed, Kakarot glared coldly at Master Roshi and then looked at Krillin.

"My friend, why is your companion a human?"

Master Roshi, Having never seen an alien before, he assumed Kakarot was being tricked by someone.

Kakarot felt he was deceived by his only friend. He raised his hand to strike Master Roshi but was knocked unconscious.

Master Roshi decided to take him back to see if he could help him.

The immediate priority was to rescue the people in the city.

Kakarot miraculously awoke. While Master Roshi had turned away, he lifted a giant boulder weighing a thousand pounds and attacked him again.

Master Roshi responded and shattered it.

Since that didn't work, Kakarot grabbed an injured person and threw him at Master Roshi.

Seeing the thrown boy, Master Roshi used a technique, catching him in his arms. But before he could put the child down, a palm pierced his chest.

In that instant, Kakarot's right hand formed a blade and pierced through the little boy's body, also severely injuring Master Roshi.

Looking at the dead child in his arms, Master Roshi kicked out with all his might, forcing Kakarot back.

He brought his hands together in a cupped shape at his waist, gathering energy, and the blue aura around him continued to rise.

Kakarot had never encountered this kind of attack before. Currently, there were few beings on Earth who could utilize Ki in fights, but his intuition told him that he couldn't take this head-on, or he would die.

Kakarot dashed away quickly, weaving through the ruined buildings.

Master Roshi hesitated for a moment.

If he died here, was there anyone else on Earth who could stop him?

Master Roshi had made a decision. Even if he accidentally injured someone, he had to use this move to kill Kakarot.

Master Roshi didn't have much stamina left. The blood loss made him feel dizzy, and he was about to pass out.

He unleashed the Kamehameha, the blue Ki Blast obliterating everything in its path.

Kakarot, who ran far away, used other objects as cover, barely escaping.

Master Roshi's body reached its limit, and with too much blood loss, he died.

Kakarot also suffered some injuries.

Krillin, after seeing his teacher's death and remembering his teachings, shed tears and said, "Kakarot, my master only wanted to help you. Why did you kill him? Why are you like this?"

Kakarot said expressionlessly, "I will kill everyone. All humans must die. Soon you'll die by my hands."

After speaking, Kakarot leaped through the ruins and quickly left. Before leaving, he looked at Krillin, who was kneeling in front of Master Roshi's corpse.

He had lost his only friend, which made Kakarot's heart become even darker.

Krillin looked in the direction Kakarot escaped and said, "Kakarot, I will definitely kill you to avenge my teacher and to save all of humanity."

...

Later, Krillin worked hard to increase his strength but still died.

Kakarot, who killed him by snapping his neck, became a madman.

Soon, several years passed, and there were almost no humans left.

Raditz also arrived at Earth to pick up his younger brother.

Meanwhile, Yamcha and Tien Shinhan looked around nervously. They were the last warriors and wanted to defeat Kakarot, but they were no match for him.

"Damn it, this city was only destroyed recently. We are getting closer and closer to him."

"He is still chasing us. It's time for a showdown."

Raditz walked out of his pod, took a breath, and looked around at the beautiful scenery.

"This planet is not bad. It will definitely sell for a good price."

The Saiyan race had long been wiped out, with only Raditz and a few others remaining, working under Frieza.

He was immediately detected by Yamcha and Tien Shinhan, sensing his presence.

They exchanged glances, unsure of what to do. This aura felt even stronger than Kakarot's.

Raditz couldn't sense auras, but he wore a scouter that could detect life signatures.

"There are still survivors. Kakarot is such a fool. If I have to clean up after him."

As Raditz said this, the smile on his lips deepened. Yamcha and Tien's fighting power wasn't very high, but it wasn't low either.

When the two flew over and saw Raditz, they felt somewhat relieved and asked, Who are you?"

Raditz crossed his arms.

"Among the Earthlings, you two are considered to have some power. It seems that's how you managed to escape his pursuit."

Tien and Yamcha had a bad feeling.

Without another word, Raditz attacked. Seeing the opponent move, Tien and Yamcha simultaneously fired energy blasts at Raditz.

But the energy attacks passed right through him. Raditz's speed far exceeded their imagination, and he had already arrived behind Yamcha and delivered a punch.

Yamcha's fighting power had increased a lot during these years of evading Kakarot, and he barely dodged, twisting his waist and lashing out with a right kick.

Raditz blocked with one hand and followed up with a punch, sending Yamcha flying. He then quickly moved behind him, kicking him in the back.

Yamcha was completely outmatched. Tien helped him up, wanting to escape.

However, Yamcha, who had been living in fear every day, was tired of hiding. Ignoring Tien's advice, he insisted on fighting Raditz.

He crouched down, tensing his body, and leapt, launching a series of attacks at Raditz.

"Wolf Fang Fist!"

His movements were agile, and his attacks were fierce as he charged forward. Raditz deflected the attacks with one hand and then punched Yamcha in the chest, sending him flying.

"Worthless trash, die!"

"Tri-Beam!"

Tien brought his hands together and fired an attack.

Raditz suddenly felt danger and raised his hands. The force of the impact pushed him back several steps.

"Tri-Beam!"

"Tri-Beam!"

Tien continuously used the Tri-Beam to bombard Raditz. Yamcha weakly got up from the ground.

"Stop, Tien! You'll die if you keep going!"

"Yamcha, run!"

Yamcha took two steps back and then flew away without looking back.

Yamcha was determined to train harder in the future. Tien would die because of him, and he must avenge him.

A few more seconds passed, and Tien had no strength left and fell to the ground.

Raditz had been pushed back and had minor injuries. He walked up to Tien and stepped on his chest, breaking his ribs.

At the same time, in the forest not far from the battle, Kakarot was sitting on a rock when he sensed two familiar auras.

"It's those two guys. I'm coming."

Yamcha, who flew away, found a place to hide.

Raditz flew in the air after killing Tien but couldn't find the other's aura since his power detector was broken.

"Damn it, where did that guy hide?"

Yamcha certainly hadn't run far. Raditz gathered energy in both hands, planning to blast the entire area.

Yamcha, hiding behind a hill, sensed Raditz's actions.

Yamcha didn't realize that someone had quietly approached behind him.

"Delicious human flesh."

The man emerging from the darkness was Kakarot, who bit into Yamcha's right arm and then slammed him away.

Yamcha retaliated with an elbow strike to Kakarot's face. The commotion of their fight alerted Raditz in the sky.

While Kakarot and Yamcha were fighting, Raditz unleashed a fully charged Ki Blast towards the ground.

Yamcha was about to flee again when Raditz appeared and punched him in the chest heavily, killing him.

Kakarot shouted, "You dare steal my prey!"

Kakarot appeared in front of Raditz with a fierce expression. Raditz, however, was not afraid and attacked.

Kakarot reacted quickly, raising his right hand to block the punch, and then launched an attack on Raditz.

The difference in strength between them was significant, and Kakarot's attacks were ineffective.

Kakarot opened his mouth and fired an energy blast at Raditz.

Just when he thought he had won, a fist struck him in the abdomen, causing him to lose consciousness.

The battle suit on his right side was damaged by the attack. Raditz caught the unconscious Kakarot and moved to another area.

Raditz looked at him and understood that his condition was not right. He put him in the space pod, set the destination, and returned with him to Frieza Planet 66.
