Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: ATTACKING HUMANS

The third day after Wallace gained his power also passed by just like that, with him training and absorbing nest energy. By the end of the day, he was able to gain another level, and he also trained the explosive steps until he reached the third step, but it put a huge strain on his body.

His muscles were so strained to the extent that his speed reduced by fifty percent after he had used it.

"I will have to go hunting tomorrow," he thought in the evening, as his food supplies had run out, and he only had a hundred dollars in his account.

He also needed a lot of skill points to get the remaining two skills and also oracle credits. Those pushed him towards going for a hunt tomorrow.

He decided to make some adjustments to his stats before he finally fell asleep, tired for the night.

"Ahh" The same nightmare woke him up around two in the morning, and as such, he had no choice but to look up at the clock ticking till it was morning.

Around six in the morning, he walked out of his place wearing a dark suit as he made his way to the hunters association.

After flashing his card, he finally entered the dark forest. Just three days ago, just a first-order soldier beast was enough to make him run, but now, he is not afraid of even first-order captain beasts.

The beast that can pose a threat to him here is the commander beast. He spread his seventh sense that has already grown to a range of a hundred meters as a result of his growth over three days.

He has entered as an absolutely different person, only he did not have a weapon he could use. He rushed through the jungle, and after three hours, killed five first-order soldier-grade beasts with three first-order captain-grade beasts.

He was ambushed by a snake-like beast. The snake is massive, with protruding fangs, also able to control fire. He utilized explosive speed as he disappeared from his former position, only for flames to wash over the space.

His skin turned red due to the intensity of the flames; there is no doubt that he would have been grilled alive if the flames had caught him, but there's nothing to worry about.

He appeared behind the beast and threw a punch at its metallic dark scales.

"Bang" the sound of two metals colliding was heard as Wallace himself felt an immense numbness in his palm, as a little bit of pain washed over him.

He did not allow that to hinder him as the snake swiped its tail over to him, but it only caught wind as he appeared above the beast and utilized explosive steps on top of its head.

Scarlet energy exploded out from his leg, allowing the scales on the head of the beast to dent a little bit while it saw stars.

"Dang" His fist collided with the dent made, and it tore through it. The beast whimpered and fell down dead, while the skin of his fist was also torn open, as blood splashed on his suit.

"I will have to get a weapon," he thought as he shook his head. This had made it the ninth beast he had killed today, and it's a commander-grade beast.

He reckoned that it would be too far-fetched not to face a general beast, as his fist would break before he could break the latter's head, but he did not worry, as the chance of running into a general-grade beast is very low, and there are some signs.

The most obvious sound is the quaking of the ground, as general-grade beasts do not move alone; they move with multiple beasts, which consist of commander, captain, and soldier-rank beasts.

That's the reason it's not so easy to kill them, because to get to them, one will have to pass the beast tide that's with them, and if any ordinary fifth-order evolver got caught in the tide, not to talk of reaching the beast, they will definitely die from the siege of multiple beasts.

If Wallace got caught in a beast tide now, he would be able to escape from the lower-rank beasts, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to escape from the general-grade beast if it is specialized in speed.

After killing the commander-grade beast, Wallace finally decided to end his expedition for the day, as he has already killed enough beasts to earn him enough.

That's the reason hunting is the most profitable; if sufficiently strong enough, one can make millions in just one sitting from a raid, but it also contains a lot of risk as there is a high risk of death. Wallace frowned as he tilted his head, and an arrow covered in darkness passed through where his head was supposed to be, causing a cut to appear on his face.

"Wind element," he thought. His senses picked up four large men, with the one that shot the arrow on top of a tree.

The one assumed to be the leader of the team walked forward,

"Nice reflexes," he praised.

"But you know reflexes do not help when it comes to numbers. You've been surrounded, so it will be better just to drop your loot and you will be able to walk away just like nothing happened," he said, but frowned a little.

"No, we've already attacked you, and we don't know if you are from a powerful force. The condition has changed. We will give you a painless death," the man said as he licked the great-sword on his hand.

"Can't you just hunt and be honest? We will be able to live peacefully if you can do that," Wallace asked.

"Baby, that's how it's supposed to work, but that's not how it works. What happens in the jungle stays in the jungle; you can only be blamed for being weak," the man answered.

"What happens in the jungle stays in the jungle?" Wallace smiled as he took the first step and the second step.

"Boom" he arrived in front of a scrawny guy behind the guy, and

"Puchi" his fist crushed the latter's throat.

That's the most threatening one of the group, apart from the one shooting the arrow. The one he just killed is one of the two utilizing firepower in the group.

"Boom" utilizing explosive steps, he appeared in front of the second one,

"Bang" a bolt was targeted at his head, but he used telekinesis to push it slightly to the side before the bolt could be shot, allowing it to pierce through his shoulder.

He gritted his teeth in pain as his fist crushed the latter's throat. An arrow made its way to the back of his head, while the leader of the group was already wielding the great-sword towards him.

He bent down slightly, allowing the great-sword and arrow to miss him, before targeting the crotch of the man and crushing it.

"Ahh" The man screamed in pain as he flopped to the ground. Ten ice icicles made their way at crazy speed towards Wallace, but he turned around, and the icicles paused well, except for one that continued forward, piercing into his thigh.

"Swish" the icicles rushed towards the pale guy, piercing through different parts of his body. An arrow that was making its way towards the back of his head also stopped and reversed, hitting the person that sent it.

Wallace gritted his teeth as he fell to the ground in pain; this was just his second time hunting, and he did not expect that he would have to kill humans the second time.

"As expected, humans are trash," he thought coldly as he looked at the dead bodies on the ground while trying to rest. His wound had already stopped bleeding, but the fight had already taken its toll on him.

It consumed huge willpower and stamina, either being killed or killing them weighed down on him. He also had to do a lot of calculations towards the most effective way of ending the fight and also the ones with the least injury.

If the fight had continued, he would have won, but with severe injuries. He is twice as strong as their strongest member, but they have more experience fighting than him.

They also have attack skills and good weapons, along with body armor, but he is alone, bare-bodied, bare-handed, along with just a movement skill that's not even that impressive when it comes to speed, but it carries an attack power.

He knew from the start that he had to end the fight very fast, or he would be severely injured; that's the reason he went for their weakest but most deadly link.

Just when he was pondering over his choices, his eyes flashed open as they widened. "Beast tide"
