The Alcareccia Bloodline

At first glance, they may appear no different from ordinary humans.Yet beneath that human facade lies a lineage born with extraordinary longevity—living for thousands of years, born with immense magical power, and possessing bodies far stronger and more resilient than any ordinary human.

No records clearly state where or when the Alcareccia bloodline first emerged. The origins of their lineage and race remain shrouded in mystery. What is known for certain, however, is that those who carry this blood—no matter how many generations may pass—always share a strange and uncanny resemblance: hair and eyes of pure, immaculate white, a mark that unmistakably sets them apart.

Every generation of the Alcareccia bloodline has made it a tradition to chronicle the entirety of their lives in written form, preserving each record with utmost care.In addition to these writings, countless artifacts, heirlooms, and invaluable items are stored deep within the family's underground vault—as though they were historians, tasked with recording the passage of time itself.

Sadly, all records prior to the 30th generation have been lost to time. The oldest surviving account begins with the 31st head of the family, who is said to have met a young man and journeyed alongside him.Together, they laid the foundations of this very kingdom—with the friend ascending as its first king, and the Alcareccia heir choosing to serve as his trusted advisor.

Not a single word was ever written about where the Alcareccia heir himself came from.

Another mystery lies in the rarity of their lineage's succession.Despite their astonishing longevity—spanning thousands of years—the Alcareccia bloodline can produce only a single heir in each generation. This scarcity is what makes their existence so profoundly valuable, and why every life born of this blood is fiercely protected and carefully safeguarded.

Their true family name is "Alcareccia," while "Eraria" is merely a middle name.Yet no one beyond the bloodline knows this truth. To the outside world, "Eraria" is believed to be their surname—even official documents state it as such. This hidden detail serves as a subtle veil, concealing the true identity of the Alcareccia lineage with masterful precision.

Episode 4

Insiren was still staring out into the storm. There was a seriousness in his gaze—a quiet intensity, analyzing the flow of the wind currents and the intricate patterns within the storm.

How long had it been since I last saw him like this?In the past, he might've already stepped outside, standing in the heart of the tempest himself, The Master of Wind.

A soft smile found its way to my lips without me realizing it.

...

I rose from the sofa and walked over to Grandthaleous, who stood before a tall bookshelf filled with ancient tomes, each one neatly arranged.

"How's it going? Found anything? What did the previous generations do?"

He looked up at me, though his hands remained on the open pages of the book.

"They didn't do much, really… or rather, they hardly did anything at all. Mostly just supported security, food, and medical efforts. Once everything went smoothly, they simply informed the public."

"I guess I'm just overthinking it."

"It's only natural, Lady Eirlys. You've just had your first child. It's perfectly normal to feel scared or worried. But don't be afraid—everything will be alright. And remember, all of us are here to support you."

"…Thank you. Truly."

I smiled, warmth blooming quietly in my chest at Grandthaleous' reassuring words.

"Of course, my lady. You've helped me so much—I just wanted to return the favor."

I adjusted my hair slightly before continuing.

"So... how old is your youngest now?"

"You mean Lenlunoir?" he replied. "He should be about a year and six months now."

My hand gently rested on my belly. An indescribable warmth spread through my entire body.

"If this little one is born as expected, they'll be two years apart."

He smiled, closing his eyes softly.

"Pretty close in age. I'm sure they'll be great friends."

I turned around, clasping my hands behind my back as I slowly walked toward the window. The storm outside still raged in a relentless swirl.I murmured softly to myself,"Please… let no misfortune come. Let peace continue on without end. Let the children smile freely, with joy in their hearts."

Quietly, I stepped away from him.

"Come to think of it… I haven't seen Fridarence in a while. I think I'll go pay her a visit," I said, leaning back slightly to glance over at Grandthaleous.

He smiled and gave a small nod."She probably misses you too."

I smiled in return before turning back toward the door."Thank you for everything, Grandthaleous."

"Always, Lady Eirlys."

I opened the door and stepped once more into the reception hall. The sound of my footsteps was drowned out by the ceaseless pouring rain.

I headed for the lift and pressed the button for the 83rd floor—the private residence of the royal family.

Meanwhile...

Insiren's Perspective

I turned away from the storm outside and noticed that Eirlys was no longer in the room.Puzzled, I looked over at Grandthaleous.

"Where did Eirlys go?"

Grandthaleous glanced up from his book."She said she was going to see Fridarence. Probably headed to the 83rd floor."

I nodded."I see… she probably just wanted to talk to Fridarence for a bit. I'll go after her."

"See you tomorrow," I added as I turned around, heading for the door.

"Wait."

He called out before I could even take a step.

"We need to talk. It's important," Grandthaleous said, his voice laced with sudden seriousness.

I sensed the weight in his tone and walked over to him."What is it?"

He handed me a document.

"The Eraria family records—from the 31st to the 34th generation?"

Just general information... Names, surnames, ages, birthdates stuff we already know.

"So… what is it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow."What's so important about this?"

Grandthaleous pointed at one section.

Birth and death dates?

I squinted, staring hard—but nothing seemed out of place.

He walked over to his desk and said quietly,

"Look again. Carefully."

Grandthaleous brought up a hologram displaying the portraits of the 31st to 34th heads of the Eraria bloodline, along with their records. As the images appeared, he began explaining:

"The 31st generation passed away in the year 1120.The 32nd was born in 1105 and died in 2244.The 33rd was born in 2234 and passed in 3045.The 34th—Lady Eirlys—was born in 3030."

"What I want you to focus on," he said,"is the year each previous generation died, compared to when the next was born."

That's when I began to see it—The pattern. The weight of it hit me hard, sorrow and fear swirling together in my chest.

I've been her husband...Part of this family for 25 years—And yet I never once stopped to notice this.

"Each of them lost their parent either father or mother when they were just ten to fifteen years old... still only a child."My voice trembled without me realizing it.So did my legs.

I kept staring at the hologram, blinking completely forgotten for a moment.

Grandthaleous continued, his voice low and serious.

"We're talking about a bloodline that can live for thousands of years, and yet… every one of them lost their guardian at a young age.Even if the other parent survived, they weren't Eraria by blood—they aged like normal humans."

"And there's something else," he went on."The Eraria bloodline rarely bears children. And when they do… a few years later, they die. It's almost as if it's some kind of natural mechanism."

He turned away from the hologram and looked at me.

"What I'm really afraid of... is that Lady Eirlys might follow the same path."

I instinctively objected."Isn't it just a coincidence?"

"You could think of it that way," he admitted, though reluctantly."We don't have much data on the Eraria to begin with. The last three generations followed this pattern, but it may not have been the case before. Generations 31 to 33 all died in battle or during war. Look at them—over a thousand years old, yet if you covered their ages, they'd look no older than twenty. It's possible their actual lifespan was far longer than when they died."

I nodded slowly."You're right… If we could learn more about the Eraria bloodline before the 31st generation, we might finally understand what's really going on."

He let himself fall into the chair behind him with a sigh.

"And that's the problem. The 31st head founded this kingdom over 3,300 years ago. They were among the very first to settle here—Who knows how old they were by then?To trace back before that… we'd have to look beyond the Lyl'neyya Peninsula itself."

I didn't even realize when I had clenched my jaw—but the ache in my jaw told me I had.

"Then what should we do?"The words left my lips barely louder than a whisper in the woods.

Grandthaleous went silent. He turned to the window, watching the storm for a while.

"Insiren… this is just a theory I came up with the moment I saw those numbers. Even if we do manage to find the truth, it might change nothing. But I have this thought—just a thought, it may be right or wrong, I don't know…"He exhaled heavily."Eirlys being pregnant—it should've been a blessing. But what if… what if the birth of a child in the Eraria bloodline is actually a warning? That the current heir's time is nearing its end?Maybe… it really is a natural mechanism."

"I won't let that happen."

"Me neither."

Grandthaleous stood up slowly and walked over to me, placing both his hands firmly on my shoulders.

"No matter what happens, you, Lady Eirlys, and the child—will be safe.I'll be here. Everyone will be here. You just take care of her, your child… and yourself."

"We've been through worse. And we'll get through this too—this time, next time, and every time after."

He gave me a confident smile—And somehow, that strength, that certainty... it reached me too.

His voice held such unwavering resolve that I couldn't help but return a faint smile of my own.

"Thanks... my dear friend."
