Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Axel’s New Life

For six months, Axel dedicated himself to mastering his telekinetic abilities. Every day, he trained, pushing the limits of what his mind could control. Precision, power, endurance—he honed them all. But there was something else that needed his attention.

His cells had reverted to a 15-year-old state. This phenomenon puzzled him. Why had the crystal altered his biological age instead of just granting him abilities? The more he studied it, the more he realized that his very DNA had been rewritten, yet his memories and intellect remained intact. He needed more time to understand it, but one thing was clear: he was physically younger, yet mentally the same.

While Astrais remained hidden on the Moon, Axel knew he couldn't continue to live in complete isolation. He needed to be among people.

To create a normal life for himself, Axel purchased a mid-sized motorcycle company in Los Angeles, USA. It gave him an identity, a purpose, and a legitimate reason to exist in this world. To make his cover more convincing, he bought a suburban house in Los Angeles, choosing a quiet neighborhood where he could blend in.

The one who sold him the house? Phil Dunphy.

Axel soon realized something unexpected—this universe was not only connected to Chronicle but also to Modern Family. The moment Phil introduced himself, Axel instantly recognized him. His energetic personality, his awkward but endearing sales pitch—it all lined up with what he remembered.

When Phil heard Axel's story—that his parents had died in a plane crash, and that the house had been purchased for him by a family trust—his usually cheerful demeanor softened. Claire, his wife, was even more affected, insisting that he join them for dinner whenever he wanted.

Thus, Axel became a regular at the Dunphy household.

It didn't take long for Axel to befriend the Dunphy children—Haley, Alex, and Luke.

With Haley, conversations were lighthearted, mostly about fashion, social trends, and her usual teenage antics.

Luke saw him as an older brother figure, constantly asking him about bikes and cool gadgets.

But it was Alex whom Axel connected with the most. Their discussions ranged from advanced science theories to AI developments, and he found that her thirst for knowledge was refreshing.

Whenever they talked, Axel had to hold back from revealing too much, but he genuinely enjoyed their debates. Alex was brilliant, and in another life, he might have recruited her for research.

To fully integrate himself, Axel's AI assistant, CHM-002, fabricated a legal identity, including an ironclad background, education records, and financial legitimacy. The "trust fund" was managed by CHM-002, ensuring that no one could question the source of his wealth.

For all intents and purposes, Axel was just a young businessman preparing to take over his family's company when he turned 18.

But in reality? He was a hyper-advanced telekinetic with a spaceship on the Moon.

Looking to the Future

For the first time in a long while, Axel felt grounded. He wasn't on some distant planet, nor was he chasing after an anomaly in deep space. He was just Axel—the neighbor, the businessman, the friend.

But deep down, he knew this peace wouldn't last forever.
