Chapter 56 - CHAPTER 56

What Kind of Alcohol Should Minors Drink?

"Someone told me about it, maybe I've learned from it!"

Charlotte Linlin was slightly surprised but didn't say much. After all, who among pirates doesn't have a few rowdy friends?

"Your wine!"

The proprietress elegantly placed the bottle in front of Charlotte. A faint aroma drifted into her nose, rich and intoxicating.

She proceeded to serve drinks to the rest, placing goblets in front of each pirate. A collective howl erupted in excitement.

Charlotte lifted her goblet, taking a slow sip. Unexpectedly, the wine had a refined taste, far better than she had anticipated. Even she, the infamous Big Mom, found it enjoyable.

The others wasted no time. They grabbed oversized mugs and guzzled the liquor down.

As for the women and children present, they were only allowed juice and meat—served without limit. Among them, a frustrated Beta and an equally annoyed young Douglas Bullet sulked the loudest.

Beta wore a resentful expression, but Charlotte ignored him.

What kind of alcohol should a minor drink?

Of course, he didn't count—his soul had long since reached adulthood.

Beta and Bullet munched on their meat in silence, while Mitis and Lina sipped their juice contentedly, finding it delicious. Even little Ropa looked disappointed.

Charlotte let out a hearty laugh.

"Hahahaha! Eat more, drink more! It's on me! No one goes home sober tonight!"

"Boss, long live!" "Boss, long live!" "Boss, long live!"

The pirates raised their glasses of varying sizes, toasting with enthusiasm, while the scent of sizzling barbecue filled the air.

"I didn't expect you to be so lively while drinking! Freedom truly is wonderful."

The bar owner spoke with a smile, seemingly surprised by the chaotic revelry.

"They're just a bunch of homeless fools, drinking my wine, eating my food."

Charlotte took another sip, her expression unreadable.

The bar owner gazed at Charlotte before flashing a charming smile. "They're quite lucky."

Charlotte's eyes lingered on the woman, intrigued. With a gentlemanly gesture, he extended his hand.

"Meet the Heberfil family. Heberfil Charlotte."

The proprietress hesitated momentarily before reaching out with a graceful hand, a sly smile on her lips.

"Beautiful Bar, Madam Lilith."

As their hands met, Charlotte subtly used his mind-reading ability, only to be momentarily stunned.

"Are you alright, Mr. Charlotte?"

Lilith's voice carried concern. He had been perfectly fine just a moment ago, so why did he suddenly freeze?

Charlotte quickly snapped back to reality. "Oh, my apologies. It's just that Ms. Lilith is so elegant and charming that I lost myself for a moment."

Lilith blushed slightly before chuckling softly. "That's the first time someone has complimented me in such a way."

Looking at Lilith—gentle, intellectual, yet hiding a quiet strength—Charlotte couldn't help but imagine the horrors of her past.

After all, she had once been a slave of the Celestial Dragons.

Those so-called "descendants of the Creator" who called themselves "gods" saw ordinary people as disposable toys. Life held no value in their eyes.

It was no wonder Lilith had become so calm and composed after enduring such darkness.

She had been rescued during the God Valley Incident years ago in the West Blue.

Though the full details remained unknown, what was clear was that the cruelty of the Celestial Dragons had been fully displayed there.

The event had been a grand hunt for their entertainment. As for deeper motives, a mere hunted slave would never know.

To them, survival was the greatest luxury.

"Ms. Lilith, from now on, may every day be a good one."

Charlotte spoke lightly.

Lilith paused, then smiled. "Yes. A good day indeed."

Charlotte's thoughts drifted.

The Celestial Dragons had committed countless atrocities, and yet the World Government still ruled unchallenged.

The God Valley Incident, though reported, had only mentioned that the Rocks Pirates were defeated to protect the Celestial Dragons and their slaves.

Even Big News Morgans had kept the real story quiet. The truth remained a secret known only to those who had been there.

God Valley had since been erased from the West Blue's maps, as if it had never existed. In a few more years, under the World Government's manipulation, people would forget it entirely.

Charlotte hated the Celestial Dragons' arrogance, but for now, there was nothing he could do.

Yet, he knew one thing: as a pirate, the Navy would eventually take notice of him.

The mere thought gave him a headache.

If such a monstrous force decided to target him, how would he face it?

All he wanted was to live in peace, maybe indulge in a hobby like collecting rare treasures.

After all, most of the Navy still protected innocent civilians.

But unfortunately, that path wasn't meant for him.

Charlotte drained his wine.

Lilith observed his sudden change in mood, puzzled.

After a night of drinking and revelry…

Charlotte was drunk. Completely drunk.

When he awoke, his head throbbed painfully.

"Hiss…!"

Groaning, Charlotte winced. Damn it. He had overdone it.

Sitting up, he surveyed the bar. The tables and floors were littered with sleeping bodies, snoring in drunken bliss.

Pirates sprawled in every direction. Some even clung to each other in drunken stupor. At a glance, Beta and Bullet were hugging in their sleep—an utterly ridiculous sight.

These two had definitely been sneaking drinks behind his back.

Charlotte pushed himself up, feeling unsteady.

"Captain."

Lina had been watching over him. The moment he stirred, her drowsiness vanished.

Charlotte glanced at her.

"You worked hard, Lina. You didn't need to stay up. Go get some rest."

"No way! As the head maid, I must stay by the captain's side."

She sounded determined, though a flicker of wariness passed over her expression. Lilith seemed to have caught Charlotte's interest, and the two had talked for quite some time.

Charlotte shook his head. In this world, where people possessed monstrous vitality, pulling all-nighters was no big deal.

Some freaks could stay up for days on end and still be fine. All they needed was a quick nap to recover.

He glanced around once more.

Then, an urgent need struck him.

Charlotte hurriedly made his way to the restroom.

After a moment of relief, he felt refreshed and returned to the bar's main hall.
