The contract wasn't to kill her but to harass her and make things look like her safety was a joke, which was definitely the case looking at how she was openly interacting with the rogues of his team and if he hadn't arrived in time, things would've turned haywire, still he lied to make things a little more impactful.
"And did you take it?" Amelia asked.
Her eyes looked into his, as if searching for something.
This was the first time Amelia had looked at him with such trust and hope, and for a second, he hated the fact that he had indeed taken it.
The reason could be anything, but that was the truth that couldn't be denied.
"Yes," Kyle said, holding her gaze.
Amelia's expression shattered in a second.
