Chapter 5 - A Shadowy Threat

While still kneeling, thinking what can he do while weakened currently, and seeing on how the Enemy's Leader—full with killing intent—coming very fast towards him...

Out of nowhere, a giant, a big guy stature, appear in defense stance—ready to save the day. An Acromegalithian appeared silently in front of Bald Bro—without a sound, like he had always been there.

The giant warrior immediately cast his mana, hardening his massive arm into a rock-like shield structure to block the Enemy Leader's intense charge.

The two forces collided.

A powerful shockwave erupted from the impact, followed by heavy winds that swept across the battlefield for a few moments.

The Enemy Leader was forced back several meters.

It looked like the Acromegalithian had successfully blocked one of his strongest attacks.

Bald Bro finally regained enough strength to stand up.

"Thanks, big guy." He spoke through mana-telepathy.

"Perfect timing," he added, this time to Unc, the Elf.

While the others were locked in battle, including the elven squad who were firing volleys from afar, Unc had sensed the threat from the Enemy Leader.

He quickly commanded an Acromegalithian to assist Bald Bro.

At the same time, Unc was already using a large amount of mana—launching his own attacks, enhancing the accuracy of the elven squad, redirecting any missed projectiles, and issuing commands across the field.

Amidst all that, he cast an instant teleportation spell on the Acromegalithian warrior. That explained how the massive figure had suddenly appeared without a sound right in front of Bald Bro.

Bald Bro was still regaining his strength and control. Unc remained focused, channeling mana to restore his body and armor—both returning steadily to near full recovery. But until then, the acromegalithian warrior had to hold the line. He had to face the leader alone, just long enough to buy Bald Bro the time he needed.

The enemy's leader stood tall—menacing, radiating fury. He was nearly as tall as the three-meter-tall acromegalithian. Thunder roared behind them, lightning flashing endlessly across the dark sky. Rain poured down, trailing off the acromegaly warrior's helmet... and off the enemy leader's face, where a pair of piercing, shadow-drenched eyes burned with silent rage.

The leader slowly spread his arms and claws, his posture tensing. His expression grew colder, deadlier. Then without warning, he dropped into a launching stance—and blitzed forward, aiming straight for the acromegalithian.

Despite being slower than elves and humans, the acromegalithians were still fast—fast enough. And far more powerful. Far more durable.

The enemy leader struck with force—but the acromegaly met it with his mana-hardened shield.

"TARGGGH!"

But the leader wasn't stopping. Blow after blow rained down in a vicious flurry. Fast. Precise. Relentless.

The acromegaly began to falter—forced to step back under the overwhelming barrage. The mana shield trembled, cracks forming across its glowing surface. For a split second, the acromegaly's stance hesitated—he realized it might shatter.

Then, his eyes lit with resolve. Instead of risking the shield, he poured more mana into both arms, enhancing them—creating two radiant hand-shields.

A sudden flash of blinding light burst from his gauntlets—catching the dark leader off guard.

Without wasting a second, the acromegaly dashed forward. A warrior's roar building in his chest, he hurled himself straight into battle. His dual hand-shields surged with power. The leader narrowed his eyes, tracking every movement as the massive warrior closed in.

BOOM—!

A devastating punch struck with the force of a boulder. The enemy leader uses all of his arms in defense, but the sheer impact shattered half his limbs.

Staggering, the leader glanced at his mangled arms—eyes wide in disbelief.

Then a low growl echoed through the rain. The acromegaly stepped forward again, and the leader snapped his head back up—his glare sharpening.

Shifting tactics instantly, the enemy leader stopped trying to overpower. Instead, he focused on speed. On agility. He unleashed a barrage of compressed air slashes, formed from raw mana and sharp claws. They tore through the storm and flew toward the acromegaly like blades.

But the massive warrior didn't stop. He rushed through it all—deflecting each strike with his shield, sending the attacks flying back toward their sender.

Startled, the leader broke away—jumping aside just in time as his own reflected slashes sliced through the space he'd been in moments ago.

He landed off to the side, spinning sharply into a new stance. Then with explosive force, he launched himself once more—this time from the flank. A sudden burst of wind followed his dash. The acromegaly, caught slightly off-guard, reacted just in time—blocking the side blow and deflecting the follow-up strike.

The leader changed again. This time, he blurred—vanishing and reappearing around the acromegaly, his speed leaving behind ghostly shadows. He attacked from every direction—slashes and claw strikes closing in from all sides. The acromegaly struggled to keep up—his twin hand-shields couldn't defend everything.

Realizing this, he began shifting mana to create a full-body shield instead. But that one-second gap… was all the leader needed.

An evil smirk curled on his lips.

He struck—a brutal uppercut straight to the acromegaly's jaw.

CRACK—!!

The sound of bones breaking rang through the rain-soaked field. The acromegaly's jaw shattered, teeth flying from the blow.

Before the giant could recover, the leader spun—delivering a violent roundhouse knee directly into his ribs. The impact echoed like thunder.

The acromegaly was launched—dozens of meters through the stormy air—before crashing against the soaked ground with a heavy, bone-crushing thud.

The background was full of endless clashing. The acromegalithians were like boulders, rushing toward the enemies and messing up their formation. This gave the dwarves and the elves an advantage, letting them finish off the enemies without being countered.

One particular dwarf stood out—crushing many enemies with his strength and dagger. He stabbed them one by one, his eyes full of bloodlust. He charged forward, plunging his dagger into their chests, their stomachs.

A humanoid monster charged at him. The dwarf quickly cut off the monster's legs and arms, then violently pierced its neck before grabbing its head.

The creature trembled—hopeless and lifeless—staring into his eyes, until the dwarf slowly crushed its head, cracking the skull and destroying it.

Then, he continued his rampage against the enemies alongside the others.

The fall of the enemy's tanks, fighters, and beast riders gave a huge opening for the assassins to strike without being disturbed.

The enemies, once five times our number, had now dropped…

To nearly one-to-one.

On the other side of the battlefield, the enemy's leader set his gaze on the weakened acromegaly. His expression twisted—cold and merciless. His claws had already regenerated—sharper, longer, humming with lethal energy. Without hesitation, he lunged forward in a quick, deadly charge to the defenceless Giant Warrior.

The acromegaly suddenly disappeared from the thin air.

The Enemy's Leader looks confused for a moment, and sees around on how his squad were crushed from about a hundred meters away.

Yet he decided to continue his rage.

It looks like Bald Bro seem to give orders through Mana Telepathy to the squad.

Unc, without further ado, teleported the acromegalithian closer to the backline of the battlefield before the Enemy's Leader could finish him, and they make sure to give out enough space for Bald Bro.

Bald Bro, seeing how he have so much space now, proceed to do a warm-up jumps.

The enemy's leader looks pissed. He may thought that Bald Bro underestimated him. But then he smirk, thinking this Bald middle-aged must be idiot to go 1 VS 1 with him after he nearly heavily injured Bald Bro.

The Leader then charges in the same speed as previous, where he almost execute Bald Bro. The kinetic energy coming from the acceleration creates loud noise and strong winds.

But Bald Bro now nearly in perfect body condition, ready, to send this mf to death.

"Let's settle this shit."

Although the Leader's movement is really fast, his charge is normal humanly impossible to dodge—

Bald Bro managed to not only dodge but he grabbed him when he passed Bald Bro.

Using the momentum, Bald Bro turn the charge to a spin around before launching him to the air from the leader's original position.

"TNNGH?!"

The Leader, shocked, turn his body—who's now in vulnerable position in the air—back to Bald Bro.

He must wait till he reach the ground back because he cannot move so much in the air.

However,

Bald Bro then do a partial squat and launch himself to the air with immense strength and power, directly to the Leader.

The Leader saw this and tried its best to use his available abilities at that time to prevent Bald Bro.

The Leader launches air-split attack from his claws, in ease—while in high speed, Bald Bro reflect them with his sword.

The Leader's expression was shocked and scared, but before he can even express them fully, Bald Bro has reach him.

Due to the speed, Bald Bro hits the Leader like a truck, and making the Leader continue to fly in the air.

Bald Bro stabbed his enchanted-with-mana sword against the Leader's stomach.

"TARGHH!!"

The Leader scream in agony.

Bald Bro make sure something can hold him using the sword.

Bald Bro pulled himself to the Leader's chest. There, he launch countless jabs, punches, and even uppercuts on the Leader's weakpoints—not mindlessly—executing it like a professional martial art athlete.

Each attack cause loud noise, bone cracks, and tiny shockwaves.

Seeing how the Leader still trying to attack back, Bald Bro pulls his sword out and instantly cut all of the Leader's arms.

In a quickswap style, he pulls out a Special Small Dagger.

He then stab it countless times onto the Leader's heart in full force. Destroying the salient shadowy organ.

To finish it off, Bald Bro stab the dagger to the Leader's head—from the upper cranium down to the mandible, he slice it open.

Revealing the Leader's injured insides, full of shadowy liquid, aura, fleshes, and cracked bones.

Then Bald Bro blinded the Leader's eyes by slicing them sideways, making a "+" symbol of his head.

As the final move, Bald Bro stab the slightly broken and dull small dagger—from the countless attack he launches—to the Leader's neck.

Penetrating it through his 2 major veins.

More and more shadowy liquid comes out.

All of this happen when they're still in the air.

Seeing a giant tree and mountains in the background, Bald Bro get ready to escape.

The Leader's nearly lifeless body can do none.

So Bald Bro launches a signature move he learned—

The One Inch Punch to the Leader's chest.

He prepare the stance quickly and calculating where to, and where will the Leader be launch.

He took a deep focus and breathe—

"BANG"

The loud sound from the One Inch Punch launch the Leader in highly incredible speed.

All of the bones, fleshes inside fully shatters and the Enemy's Leader lost so much shadowy blood leading to near 0% chance of surviving.

Couldn't regenerate.

Since the special dagger is also used to kill monsters like them.

The Leader, generating only his vision for the last time—seeing how he's going to get the punch—only can be in despair, knowing he won't win.

The punch makes him feel so much pain it goes numb.

His mind goes blank as he was propelled in such speed even the air surrounding have a hard time to keep up.

His hearing only heard loud ringing and cracks of the air surrounding.

He can see how Bald Bro, who used to be directly in front of him, in such speed he's gone—significantly becoming smaller from his vision.

Before fully vanishing from his view.

To the Enemy's leader, everyone looks like dolls or puppets like beings. What he saw when Bald Bro's armor half shattered previously before it regenerated, was a middle aged bald puppet with mid stubble beard.

Can't regenerate anymore, since the damage is too much, the Leader looks into the sky which is getting clear from the heavy rain.

And then he sees the shine of the warm sun sneaking from those clouds.

The shine projected into his right eye.

Revealing a shadowy eyes who slowly became clearer and more normal althought not fully.

His body cannot hold it anymore.

The impact and the air friction of the air surrounding him shatters his body slowly.

While disintegrating, he lets out a small drop of water from his right eye.

Then, his body started to being burn from fire caused by the friction.

He's like a fast rogue comet coming down, colliding to the earth.

Before hitting the countless trees that's kilometers far away from the battlefield—and when only part of his chest and skull left—he hits the mountain, causing huge impact which shatter some part of the mountain.

Luckily, the role of natural mana with the base of the world can repair itself.

Pretty sure the partially shattered mountain will recover.

It's been miles from here, how could I see this vision when Bald Bro is out of sight?

Wait, this Bright Emerald Green aura—Unc?!

Unc gave me Bald Bro's vision?! Why?!

Bald Bro startled a little on what he's able to see, the whole thing, thanks to self mana vision enchantment. Still covered in the Leader's shadowy liquid, who turned out to be blood that's slowly evaporating from his knight armor.

Witnessing the impact explosion while deaccelerating significantly before landing in a roll and a squat on the smooth grass surface.

He stood up, he capture his blade, and sheath it properly.

After that, he opened his Head's armor, and with an frustation, and then slightly sad expression,

he slowly utters the words, since there's no one nearby—

"Rest well."

In a slow, soft, yet resonance voice.
