POV: Female Lead (Ha-neul)
Blood.
It soaked through her hands, warm and terrifying.
Min-jae lay in her arms, his breathing shallow.
Jin-ho shouted orders. His men scrambled for the car.
"Hold on, Min-jae." Her voice cracked.
His eyes fluttered open.
A weak, lopsided smile. "You're… crying."
Tears burned her cheeks.
"Shut up," she whispered.
He coughed. Blood stained his lips.
Jin-ho's car screeched to a stop.
The door flung open.
"Move!" Jin-ho barked.
They piled in.
She pressed harder on Min-jae's wound.
He groaned.
"Just a little longer," she whispered. "Stay with me."
Min-jae's eyes drooped.
"No," she shook him. "Stay awake!"
His lips parted, but no sound came.
The hospital loomed ahead.
They crashed through the entrance.
Doctors rushed forward.
She didn't want to let go—
But hands pulled her away.
"Miss, we need to operate!"
Her fingers slipped from his.
Min-jae disappeared through the doors.
Silence.
She stood there. Frozen.
A hand touched her shoulder.
Jin-ho.
"He's strong," he said quietly. "He'll fight."
But what if he didn't?
What if this was it?
She sank into a chair.
Her hands—still shaking.
And she prayed.
