The morning sun peeked through the curtains, casting soft light over the room. Ha-neul blinked, her body heavy with exhaustion.
Her head throbbed slightly, a dull reminder of the intensity of the night before. But it wasn't the headache that made her heart ache. It was the emptiness beside her.
Min-jae was gone.
The bed beside her was cold.
Ha-neul sat up, her fingers tracing the spot where he had been just hours ago. The warmth from his presence had lingered—now it was gone, replaced by a sense of distance.
She had hoped—maybe foolishly—that when she woke up, it would all feel different. That the kiss hadn't changed things. That they could pretend it hadn't happened.
But deep down, she knew better.
The kiss had changed everything.

Min-jae's Avoidance
Ha-neul got up from the bed, pulling the blanket around her as she headed for the bathroom. The cool water on her face did nothing to ease the knot in her stomach.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, she found a note on the desk.
It was short, but the words were like a slap to the face.
"I'm sorry, I can't do this."
There was no signature. No explanation.
But Ha-neul knew exactly who it was from.
Min-jae had left.
She felt a surge of frustration flood her chest, mixing with the overwhelming sense of loss.
She should've known it was too good to be true.
She had always known that he wouldn't let her in.
But then why had he kissed her? Why had he let things go so far?
She couldn't make sense of it.
She was confused, angry, and… most of all, hurt.
