After the battle, the group regrouped, each of them visibly exhausted. Naruto and Sasuke were battered from their high-speed combat and blood loss, while Sakura and Dazinna were mentally drained from the intense pressure of watching the fight unfold. Even Kakashi, who had spent most of the time observing with his Sharingan active, was breathing heavily.

The team sat on the ground, catching their breath. Naruto glanced at Kakashi's labored breathing and couldn't help but feel a bit exasperated.

Zabuza losing his sword didn't seem to bother him much—aside from being a bit tired, he was fine. But you? You just stood there watching, and you're this exhausted? Even spectating feels like a 50/50 battle for you.

Kakashi finally caught his breath and spoke. "Zabuza retreated this time, but when he comes back, he'll likely bring reinforcements. Are you still willing to continue?"

Kakashi knew Zabuza wasn't the type to abandon a mission easily. When he returned, he'd undoubtedly be better prepared, possibly bringing others to hold off Naruto and Sasuke.

"Continue," Naruto replied without hesitation. He had come here to fight, and he intended to see it through until one side was completely defeated. Besides, he was having too much fun.

"Continue," Sasuke echoed, his voice firm. "And next time, I'll be stronger."

As if to prove his point, Sasuke opened his eyes, revealing three tomoe in his left Sharingan and two in his right.

Naruto stared at him, utterly speechless.

You're practically running on empty right now, your face is pale as a ghost, and yet you're still showing off by activating your Sharingan? Seriously?

And all that blood loss earlier? Was that just an excuse to recharge your stats via some internal Alipay system in your brain? If so, can I pay you in gold to unlock something for me?

Naruto felt like he had married Hinata only to discover on their wedding night that she had transformed into Akamaru.

Were you the one secretly training Saiyan-style this whole time while I was busy punching trees? Is this some kind of hidden attribute where getting beaten up makes you stronger?

You're not the last Uchiha—you're Sun Wukong's descendant, aren't you? Should I teach you how to use Kamehameha next?

Then he remembered Madara's evolution into the Rinnegan—something about combining Asura and Indra chakra. Naruto's chakra naturally leaned toward Asura, while Sasuke constantly absorbed it.

So while I'm unlocking cheat codes, you're reaping the benefits? Figures.

Unable to muster the energy to continue complaining, Naruto could only hope Kurama would step up his game.

I have cheat codes too, you know. And mine are incremental—one tail not enough? How about two? More tails = more power = do whatever I want.

Or maybe I'll ask Sasuke to help me unlock a cheat code later. Gotta think about how to phrase that request…

After a long silence, Sakura finally spoke up. "Continue."

With the mission still ongoing, the team resumed their journey with Tazuna. Naruto led the way, carrying the broken half of the Kubikiribōchō over his shoulder. Sakura supported Sasuke, who was still weak from overusing his Sharingan, while Kakashi and Tazuna brought up the rear.

As they walked, Naruto began to feel increasingly uneasy. Eventually, he turned to Kakashi and asked, "Kakashi-sensei, which direction are we heading?"

Naruto might not have a sense of direction, but he had an excellent memory for routes. Once he walked a path, he remembered it.

Kakashi glanced up at the sun. "West."

This answer only deepened Naruto's unease.

Meanwhile, Sasuke, still recovering from his earlier exertions, leaned heavily on Sakura for support. Her reluctant but dutiful efforts to steady him gave her plenty of opportunities to touch him—a fact that did not go unnoticed by Naruto.

Eventually, the group arrived at Tazuna's home. They were greeted with a modest dinner, which Naruto enjoyed out of politeness. The next morning, however, he interrupted Tsunami as she prepared breakfast and began rummaging through the family's food storage.

It wasn't that Tsunami's cooking was bad—far from it. As a seasoned homemaker, her meals were delicious. But Naruto knew that hiring ninja guards had nearly bankrupted the family. Adding the burden of feeding and housing his team would leave them struggling financially for years to come. Feeling guilty, he decided to take matters into his own hands. After all, it was the least he could do.

Unlike the original storyline, where Naruto inspired courage in this small nation, he had no interest in playing hero. If you don't fight back, you deserve to get crushed, he thought bitterly.

Tazuna, on the other hand, felt like he'd hit the jackpot. Not only did these ninja protect him, but they also came with their own supplies, saving him even more money.

After breakfast, Kakashi gathered the three genin in a small grove for training. Naruto sighed inwardly. Finally, Kakashi remembers he's supposed to be our teacher. For a moment, I thought you were just a scarecrow.

"Yesterday's battle should have taught you something important," Kakashi began, addressing Naruto and Sasuke. "You lack finishing moves—attacks capable of taking down an opponent in one hit."

"Mm," both boys nodded. Between them, they had only two offensive jutsu: the Grand Fireball Technique and the Phoenix Sage Fire Technique, both belonging to Sasuke. Shadow Clones were primarily supportive.

Turning to Sakura, Kakashi continued, "Sakura, you lack self-defense capabilities."

"Mm."

Sakura knew he was right. Despite scoring perfect marks in her exams, she quickly realized after leaving the academy that she was the weakest link in real combat. Meanwhile, her two perpetually truant teammates were proving to be the strongest.

"This is the Narakumi no Jutsu, a genjutsu that forces its target to confront their deepest fears," Kakashi explained, handing Sakura a scroll. In his opinion, Sakura's chakra control and theoretical knowledge were strong enough that she could learn the technique independently.

"Next, Sasuke," Kakashi said, turning to the pale-faced boy. Blood loss and Sharingan overuse weren't things that recovered overnight, especially after such blatant showboating.

"I know you have a lightning affinity. I've developed a technique that works best with the Sharingan—it's perfect for you." With that, Kakashi prepared to teach Sasuke the Chidori.

"Watch closely. This technique is called the Chidori!" Kakashi rapidly formed hand seals, then thrust his hand forward. A surge of chakra gathered in his palm, crackling with electricity that emitted a sound resembling birds chirping.

When the chakra reached its peak, the chirping grew louder, mimicking the cacophony of a thousand birds. It sounded like a mischievous child had blown up hundreds of bird nests.

Kakashi drove the Chidori into a nearby tree, piercing it cleanly. He then dispersed the chakra and withdrew his hand.

A single unit of chakra is too precious to waste.

"Incredible piercing power!" Sasuke exclaimed, awestruck.

Using his Sharingan, Sasuke meticulously recorded the flow of Kakashi's chakra and the hand seals. Just as he prepared to try it himself, a wave of exhaustion hit him, causing him to stumble.

Overexertion, blood loss, and Sharingan overuse had left the young prodigy even paler than before.

Finally, Kakashi turned to Naruto. He thought carefully about the blond-haired boy, whose vast reserves of chakra made consumption a non-issue.

"Naruto, you have wind and fire affinities. Most wind techniques are supportive, so I'll teach you a fire technique instead. Here's the Grand Fireball Technique…"

Before Kakashi could finish, Naruto opened a portal behind him.

Kakashi, screw you.

I'm going back to Konoha to train under Jiraiya and learn Sage Mode—Five Right Gatekeepers.

Why the hell would I learn the Grand Fireball Technique? Can't I just ask Sasuke to teach me later? It's not like it's some secret Uchiha technique—half the village knows it.

Seriously, stop favoring Sasuke so blatantly. I get it—you're buddies with Obito. But is Minato Namikaze my dad or Sasuke's? You never clarify!

Have you ever considered what your 'gentle and virtuous' wife-turned-bloody-hot-pepper Kushina would do if she saw you teaching her son some charity-tier jutsu that never hits anyone in the entire series? She'd probably tie you up with Adamantine Prison Chains, hang you upside down with one chain, and slap you silly with the other.

No wonder you don't have a girlfriend. You deserve to stay single forever.
