Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12

The bar is alive with chatter and music. The air is thick with the scent of whiskey and beer, the clinking of glasses, and the low hum of laughter. Sophia sits at a booth, nervously stirring her drink, as Jaime walks in, making a beeline for the booth. She grins at Sophia. "So, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"

Sophia half-laughs, half-sighs. "I think you've got a front-row seat to my complete meltdown."

"Not to worry, I'm here to keep your sanity in check." Jaime takes a seat, leaning in as she starts scanning the room. "Okay, this is gonna be interesting."

A certain CEO was also at plum bar with his best friend Luke

Are you serious ? What do you mean you saw her again . Wait you saw you first love again ? " Luke said provoking a stern glare from Ethan

"Yes she doesn't know it's me , she doesn't even remember me "

Hahaha but you're freak for remember something that happened a long time ago

She's not easy to forget you know. Ethan said

Wow who is this man , what has he done with Ethan the CEO . Luke mused

On the other side Jaime and Sophia talked about other things from relationship, to dreams to food

" Hey I'm going to the bathroom real quick okay ? " Jaime said

As Jaime walks away, a group of rowdy, drunken men stumble toward the booth. They're loud, swaying in their seats, eyes fixed on Sophia with an unsettling intensity.

"Hey, baby, you look like you're having a good time. How about you and me share a drink?" one of them slurs, sliding into the seat next to her without asking.

Sophia's stomach tightens. She forces a smile, trying to sound confident. "I'm just here with my friends, actually."

"C'mon, don't be shy. Just one drink, sweetheart," the man persists, his breath thick with alcohol.

Sophia scoots back slightly, trying to make some space. "Really, I'm fine. Please—"

Before she can finish, another man grabs her arm, pulling her roughly toward him. "Let's go, pretty lady."

Fear surges through Sophia. Her heart races. She looks around, but there's no sign of Jaime.

Just as the situation escalates, a hand grabs the man's shoulder, spinning him around with a force that sends him stumbling back. Ethan stands there, his jaw clenched, eyes locked on the group of men. His voice is low but commanding. "I don't think she's interested."

The men look up, clearly recognizing him now. The atmosphere shifts instantly, but the drunkest one sneers, "What's the big deal. Do you think you're some kind of hero ?

Ethan's gaze sharpens. He steps forward, towering over the men. "You should leave before I make you."

The men glance at each other, but the warning in Ethan's voice is enough. They mumble curses under their breath and stumble away, disappearing into the crowd.

Sophia's breath comes out in a sharp exhale as she stares at Ethan, her pulse still racing. "Thank you... I—I didn't know what to do."

Ethan looks down at her, his face unreadable but his eyes intense. "You're safe. That's all that matters."

Sophia nods, trying to steady her nerves. "I—I'm sorry. I didn't expect any of this."

Ethan's expression softens, though he still stands protectively close. "Don't apologize. I'll always make sure you're safe, Sophia. Always."

Before she can respond, Jaime returns, noticing the tension in the air. She glances from Sophia to Ethan, an eyebrow raised. "Everything okay?"

Sophia hesitates, then nods, grateful but a little shaken. "Yeah. I think so."

Jaime gives her a reassuring smile as she thank the CEO but it was somewhat a whisper
