Chapter 3 - 003: Imperial City’s Shi Family Eldest Young Master

Fortunately, the Yu Family was wealthy and well-connected, so finding her a school wasn't much of a challenge.

Yu Baisheng gave an indifferent hum and said calmly, "She'll go with Xinman. I've already spoken to the school board."

At these words, Yu Xinman's smile grew even brighter. "Really?"

She picked up her cup, took a small sip of water, and asked, "Dad, does that mean my little sister will start from the first year of high school?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Zhi, who had been tapping her fingers on the table, paused her movements. Her left hand raised slightly, and she lowered her gaze to check the time on her wristwatch. Her expression showed a trace of impatience.

Yu Baisheng shook his head. "Just like you, she'll start from the third year of high school."

Yu Zhi and Yu Xinman's birthdays were only fifteen days apart.

Two daughters of the same age—if one started in the first year and the other in the third when word got out, it would damage the Yu Family's reputation irreparably.

"That's good," Yu Xinman let out a breath of relief and didn't say any more.

Shengde was considered one of the top-ranked elite schools in Imperial City. Its halls were filled with academic prodigies and overachievers.

Since her first year, Yu Xinman's grades had consistently ranked at the top.

As for Yu Zhi? Given her current state, it was doubtful whether she could even match one-third of Xinman's achievements.

Yu Baisheng furrowed his brows, worry evident in his eyes. "Little Zhi, during the National Day holiday, I'll hire a tutor to help you with your studies, alright?"

After all, she was his daughter, and he didn't want her falling behind others.

"No need, I'll just study on my own."

Yu Zhi propped her arm on the table and shot him an indifferent glance. Her clear, tranquil gaze was as calm as a pristine spring.

Yu Baisheng froze for a moment, took a deep breath, and suppressed the frustration stirring inside him.

He waved his hand dismissively. "Fine, suit yourself then."

The housekeeper began serving a table full of beautifully arranged dishes one after another.

The enticing aroma immediately caught Yu Zhi's attention.

She picked up her chopsticks, grabbed a piece of sweet-and-sour fish, and started eating earnestly.

Her features softened noticeably as she lowered her head.

While the three people around her laughed and chatted, seemingly harmonious, Yu Zhi absorbed herself in her quiet world. Everything around her seemed detached, as if it had nothing to do with her, and she didn't even lift her eyes.

Specks of starlight encircled the crescent moon, their soft glow enveloping the entire city in a dreamlike haze.

In Lanting Square, an ethereal and moving melody of a pipa began to play gently.

The corridor, styled with traditional elegance, had crimson fixtures carved with exquisite and grand patterns lining the path.

A crisp "ding" echoed as the elevator at the end of the corridor opened.

The tall and lean figure in the elevator was instantly bathed in the warm light of the lanterns hanging in the corridor.

The man wore a tailored silver shirt paired with casual trousers. In his hand, he held a black suit jacket. The two buttons at the collar of his shirt were loosely undone, revealing a faint glimpse of his smooth, fair clavicle.

Even before his features could be clearly seen, his commanding and sharp presence already struck like a gale.

"Master Shi."

The manager hurried over, wiping the thin layer of sweat off his forehead as he bent slightly with utmost respect.

Shi Weiqing responded with a faint hum, his eyelashes lifting slightly, revealing a face that seemed carved by divine hands.

His features were immaculate and composed—the thick, striking brows paired with slightly upturned almond-shaped eyes. The jet-black pupils, shimmering like obsidian under the light, drew every gaze, pulling one in with just a glance.

Imperial City's Shi Family's eldest son, Shi Weiqing—a man at the apex of the social pyramid.

At the age of twenty, he single-handedly founded Xingye Group, ranked among the top three corporations in the nation.

Now, at only twenty-five years old, his net worth had already exceeded ten billion.

With his immense wealth and stunning looks, Shi Weiqing had become the object of admiration for all the young ladies of Imperial City's elite families.
