Chapter 166 - Are You Really That Clever?

"Well? Quite the spectacle today, wasn't it?"

As Father and Mother Xiao stormed away in fury, Luo Haofeng's phoenix-like eyes curved with a satisfied smile. The anger he'd worn earlier had now completely vanished in the wake of Xiao Yuting's humiliation.

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded in agreement, a smile of delight gracing her lips. "Yes, it was truly splendid."

With an air of smugness, Luo Haofeng raised his brows, his gaze shifting to the video screen. "Tell me, do you think your ex-fiancé would choose the prestige of being Young Master Xiao, or would he truly love Linda—enough to overlook her cosmetic surgery and her false persona?"

Bai Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes. "Unless Xiao Yuting is blind and brain-dead, there's no way he'd stay loyal to Linda."

No sooner had the words left her lips than a sharp slap echoed from the video. Bai Xiaoxiao's eyes flew wide in disbelief—Xiao Yuting had struck Linda?

"Tsk tsk, what a disappointment. No matter how Linda deceived him, Xiao Yuting had no right to raise his hand to a woman. Bai Xiaoxiao, breaking off the engagement might just be the wisest decision you've made in your twenty-something years of life."

Luo Haofeng shook his head in mock disapproval, while Bai Xiaoxiao couldn't help but roll her eyes again. Judging by Xiao Yuting's violent reaction, Linda must have always played the role of the gentle, demure lady before him—surely she never confessed to altering her face.

She recalled that time at Yipinxuan when she'd seen Xiao Yuting and Linda dining together. When she went over to cause a scene, Linda had remained gracious, simply saying, "Enjoy your meal with your fiancée," before leaving elegantly. Xiao Yuting had then lashed out at her with cruel words and chased after Linda.

How starkly different that moment was from what she was witnessing now.

A laugh suddenly bubbled from her lips.

"You haven't gone daft with happiness, have you?" Luo Haofeng narrowed his sharp eyes at her. "First you're rolling your eyes, now you're smiling like a fool. Bai Xiaoxiao, don't tell me you're hoping to reclaim your position as his fiancée now that he's dumped Linda?"

If she dared to say yes, he swore he'd look down on her—ruthlessly.

MS Group, President's Office

After ending a call, Mo Xiuchen returned to the sofa. The show had already ended.

He sat beside Wen Ran, his eyes briefly flitting to the screen where Linda was still sobbing pitifully. Then he looked down at Wen Ran's contented smile, reached out, and calmly ended the video feed.

"Hey! Mo Xiuchen, what are you doing?" Wen Ran frowned, displeased by the abrupt interruption. She had been thoroughly enjoying Linda's devastated expression.

Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, his lips brushing against her smooth forehead as he murmured in a low, magnetic voice, "What's so entertaining about watching a woman like Linda cry? If you want something to feast your eyes on, look at your charming, handsome husband instead—admire me all you want."

With that, his lips wandered to her ear, teasing her sensitive earlobe with a playful breath.

Wen Ran trembled involuntarily and instinctively pulled away. "Mo Xiuchen, this is your office. Stop fooling around."

Perhaps next time she saw Gu Kai, she should ask him to examine Mo Xiuchen's brain. Had something gone wrong? He no longer resembled the man she had once known.

"Ranran, last night left me… unsatisfied."

Mo Xiuchen suddenly swept her onto his lap, holding her firmly in his arms. The more she struggled, the more friction sparked between them, only stoking the flames that had long been simmering within him. Ever since that one time in her office, his desires had only grown more intense.

Wen Ran's body was sensitive and could not withstand his deliberate teasing. Her cheeks flamed crimson, her heart pounded wildly, and with only a few moments of resistance, she clearly felt the evidence of his arousal.

"No, you can't…"

She clutched the hand that had slid beneath her blouse, eyes wide with panic and embarrassment. But she'd fallen into his trap—he had anticipated she would raise her head, and just as she did, the lips that had been playing at her ear swooped down and captured hers.

An electrifying current surged through them as their lips met.

Whispers of passion quietly permeated every inch of the office air.

Wen Ran, like a naïve Little Red Riding Hood, was utterly no match for the cunning Big Bad Wolf. Her resistance crumbled under his relentless coaxing, and soon she raised her white flag in surrender.

Her mind blanked beneath his shifting kisses—tender one moment, ferocious the next. All that remained was the overwhelming tide of sensation, and the fire within her that threatened to consume her whole.

Her breathing grew erratic, and finally, a soft moan escaped her lips. The man's movements only grew bolder at her response. Then, with sudden force, she was lifted into his strong arms.

"Ranran, let's continue in the lounge."

She had already lost the will—and the strength—to resist, completely enraptured by his touch, allowing him to do as he pleased.

The door to the lounge opened and closed. The heated tension of the office was sealed away, replaced by the intimate storm behind closed doors…

"You invited reporters too? Why didn't you mention that earlier?"

Bai Xiaoxiao stared in surprise at the journalists who had suddenly burst in, surrounding a frantic and near-hysterical Linda. Her lovely face showed a hint of shock as she turned to glare at Luo Haofeng, who was reclining leisurely in his chair, a devilish grin playing on his lips.

Luo Haofeng crossed his long legs and leaned back, withdrawing his gaze from the screen to meet her stunned eyes. After a moment, the smirk faded and his brow furrowed slightly. "Don't tell me you're feeling sorry for her. Bai Xiaoxiao, no wonder you were dumped by Xiao Yuting. You always parade around with arrogance, but deep down, you have the heart of a saint. Do you honestly think Linda would show you any mercy? I'd bet my life that if you were the one in that video, she'd be lighting firecrackers in celebration right now."

Bai Xiaoxiao froze, instinctively retorting, "Who's feeling sorry? I was just startled—you brought in real reporters, and they're experts at twisting facts. What if they think I'm behind all this, trying to sabotage Xiao Yuting and Linda?"

Luo Haofeng burst into laughter. "Oh please, Bai Xiaoxiao, don't flatter yourself. Do you think you're that clever?"

His mocking tone cut deep—he genuinely thought she was a fool. Why else would she have stood there silently while Linda and her friends humiliated her?

If it weren't for the fact that she'd given him her first kiss, he wouldn't have bothered to help her at all.

As that memory resurfaced, his expression shifted slightly. He frowned. Damn it, he'd been kissed before—plenty of times—so why couldn't he get that one clumsy, accidental kiss from Bai Xiaoxiao out of his head?

Bai Xiaoxiao's expression darkened. She shot back with a cold sneer, "If you're so smart, why is it that after nearly thirty years, you still haven't managed to get yourself a girlfriend?"
