Chapter 164 - Do Not Look Upon Impropriety

"M-Mo…"

Wen Ran's heart skipped a beat as her eyes flew open in shock.

This rogue of a man—how could the world ever believe he was indifferent to women or incapable of desire?

"Ranran, close your eyes,"

Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, freeing one hand to gently cover her eyes. His kiss deepened, slow and deliberate.

He reveled in the sensation of her lips, intoxicated by the way she melted under his touch, every flutter and gasp making her even more beguiling. He knew her sensitivities like the back of his hand.

Compared to Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran was far too inexperienced—no match for his practiced moves. A man's instincts needed no tutor in matters of intimacy.

Though Mo Xiuchen had always kept women at arm's length, teasing Wen Ran was second nature. It didn't take long before her breath came in quickened gasps, her soft form writhing slightly in his embrace, as though he had lit a flame within her that rapidly spread throughout her being.

Despite their nightly rendezvous over the past days, holding her like this, fragrant and supple in his arms, made him yearn to cherish her anew.

"Ranran, if you move again, I can't promise I'll restrain myself."

He pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against hers. His gaze burned into her crimson cheeks, her eyes a haze of misty allure. Just looking at her made his body feel aflame.

Wen Ran froze, perched on his lap, too frightened to shift.

"Put me down. Someone might come in…"

She avoided his scorching gaze, eyes settling instead on the curve of his throat, her voice so soft and sultry it surprised even herself.

"Are you afraid of being seen?"

Mo Xiuchen's lips quirked in amusement, his breath warm against her cheek.

Wen Ran frowned, about to push him away, but remembered his warning and stiffened again. Even though something beneath her was painfully poking her, she didn't dare to move.

"Alright, I'll let you go."

With a low chuckle, Mo Xiuchen released her, rose to his feet, and strode toward the door.

Wen Ran watched him, puzzled. As she opened her mouth to ask where he was going, the sharp click of a lock rang in her ears.

Startled, she called out, "Mo Xiuchen, you—"

He turned around, a devilish smile on his face. "You were worried someone might walk in, weren't you? I've locked the door—no one can disturb us now."

Wen Ran stared at him, momentarily speechless.

He walked back to her, but this time didn't sit. Bracing one hand against the back of the sofa, he leaned over her, his presence overwhelming.

Wen Ran looked up at him warily, as though facing a villain, swallowing nervously. "Mo Xiuchen, what are you trying to do?"

He smirked, his large hand capturing her shoulder, holding her in place. "Ranran, curious what it feels like to be with someone in an office?"

"No, absolutely not."

She shook her head like a drum. Was he out of his mind, suggesting something like that here of all places?

"But what if I want to?"

His voice was low and hoarse, sensual and dangerous, each word striking her heart like a silent drumbeat.

"Mo Xiuchen, don't do anything rash!"

Just as the words left her lips, her phone rang. Relief flooded her face, like a drowning person spotting a lifeline, and she shot up from the sofa in a flash.

"Hiss… Ranran, be gentle."

Mo Xiuchen, lost in his wicked thoughts, hadn't expected her sudden movement and couldn't dodge in time—her head rammed right into his chin.

Wen Ran blinked, offering a half-hearted, "Sorry, I didn't mean to," as she hurriedly pulled out her phone and answered without even checking the caller ID. "Hello?"

Mo Xiuchen rubbed his chin, watching her with amusement. The little wildcat had really been scared stiff just now.

It was Bai Xiaoxiao on the other end.

"Ranran, your voice sounds a little off. Are you okay? Want to watch something live? If you do, accept the video call."

Still caught in the lingering heat of Mo Xiuchen's teasing, Wen Ran hadn't realized her voice was different. She'd picked up in such a rush that it escaped her notice.

Thankfully, Bai Xiaoxiao didn't think much of it.

"What live broadcast?"

All morning, Wen Ran had been with Mo Xiuchen, her mind preoccupied with Wen Jin's situation. She had completely forgotten about Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng's plan to expose Linda.

"Linda, the unworthy bride, is meeting her future in-laws! And guess what—I've got explosive news! She's not a natural beauty at all. There's solid evidence she had plastic surgery before debuting."

Bai Xiaoxiao's voice bubbled with excitement over the line. She hadn't cared about Linda originally, but after that outrageous incident at the boutique, she decided the woman deserved some payback.

"How did you find out?"

Wen Ran raised a brow in surprise. Bai Xiaoxiao was never one for scheming. The investigation must have been orchestrated by the ever-chaotic Luo Haofeng.

"Ha! All thanks to Luo Haofeng. He dug it up. Anyway, enough talk—let's video chat so you can see it unfold live!"

Next to Bai Xiaoxiao, Luo Haofeng nudged her, gesturing that Xiao Yuting and his wife had arrived.

The video request came through. Wen Ran didn't accept immediately. Instead, she turned to Mo Xiuchen and asked, "Want to watch?"

He smiled faintly. "We've got time. Why not? But the phone screen's too small—let's use the computer."

Wen Ran's lips twitched as he dragged her over to the desk. He took her phone, declined the call, and only after two minutes sent Bai Xiaoxiao a video request from the computer.

"Ranran, sit here."

Mo Xiuchen patted his lap, gesturing for her to sit.

Wen Ran flushed and shook her head. "No need. I'll just stand."

She wasn't about to sit on his lap while video chatting with her friend—she didn't have that kind of shamelessness!

"We're husband and wife, not sneaking around. What are you so shy about?"

He laughed teasingly and tugged her into his lap. She yelped softly. Just then, Bai Xiaoxiao connected the call.

Seeing the two so close, Luo Haofeng whistled, and Bai Xiaoxiao's playful voice came through: "Ranran, can you two not display such indecency and corrupt my innocent maiden soul?"

"There's a saying," Mo Xiuchen replied calmly, "See no evil."

Then he lowered his head and planted a kiss on Wen Ran's blushing cheek.

"Mo Xiuchen!"

Wen Ran's eyes widened in disbelief, while Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng erupted into laughter.
