Ron's Teaching Method vs. Garp's Teaching Method
A Change of Heart
"I'll prove I'm a man."
Little Luffy declared before turning and walking away.
"I want to become stronger!" he muttered to himself as he walked.
But how?
He suddenly regretted leaving so hastily. He should have asked Grandpa or that Marine brother for advice.
"Wait a minute... Didn't that Marine brother say that eating a Devil Fruit would make me stronger?"
Luffy touched his stomach.
Gurgle.
He didn't feel stronger.
Instead, he felt hungry.
"It's all because that fruit tasted so bad. I'm hungry now. I should eat something first before thinking about getting stronger."
Determined, little Luffy returned to Makino's tavern. After all, this was where he often ate—his grandfather, Garp, never really took care of him.
A Bold Declaration
"Makino! I'm going to be a Marine!" Luffy announced proudly to everyone he met, his chest puffed out as if he had already enlisted.
Makino smiled, pinched his cheek, and teased, "You're not planning to be a pirate this time?"
"Nope! I've decided. I want to be a Marine! And not just any Marine—I want to be a Marine Admiral! Someone even stronger than Grandpa!"
"That's amazing," Makino chuckled. "Then you have to work hard. Your grandpa is already a great Marine."
"I'll be even better! Grandpa can eat three portions of rice, so I'll eat ten!"
Hiccup!
Luffy burped, his belly stuffed from the meal.
As he was about to leave, he suddenly stopped and turned to Makino.
"How much?"
Makino was surprised.
This was the first time Luffy had asked that. Before, he always ate and drank for free.
"Windmill Village has always been protected by Mr. Garp. No pirates dare to cause trouble here. To thank him, I won't charge you for your meal," she said warmly.
"That won't do," Luffy said firmly. "That Marine brother told me that a good Marine should never take even a single Beli from the people!"
He remembered how Ron had insisted on paying for even a cup of hot water. Luffy wanted to uphold the same principles.
"Alright then, 1,000 Beli," Makino said, stretching out ten fingers.
"I... don't have any money," Luffy realized, scratching his head in embarrassment.
But then, an idea struck him.
"I'll go catch you a big beast to pay for the meal!"
Excited by his plan, Luffy set off toward the mountain.
An Unexpected Sight
As Luffy walked out of the tavern, he saw the Marines escorting Shanks and his crew onto a warship.
Shanks noticed him too and paused.
Luffy ran over, looking up at Shanks and the others.
He shouted at the top of his lungs, "Shanks!"
Shanks looked down, listening.
"I'm not going to be a pirate anymore!" Luffy declared. "I want to be a Marine!"
"I will find comrades who are just as strong as you! I will become a great Marine before you even leave the sea! If we meet again one day, I'll capture you!"
His babyish voice lacked power but was filled with determination.
The Marines on the warship burst into laughter.
It wasn't threatening.
But it was adorable.
Shanks was stunned.
In just a few hours, Luffy had completely changed his mind?
He no longer wanted to be a pirate?
The change was too fast.
"...I'm looking forward to that day," Shanks finally said before stepping onto the warship.
Reactions from Another World
(Former) Sengoku: "After meeting Ron, Luffy's farewell words to Shanks changed."
He remembered how, in another world, Luffy had vowed to gather a crew as strong as Shanks' and become the Pirate King.
The difference in ideology was significant.
(Original) Shanks: "Luffy wants to capture me?"
(Original) Garp: "Luffy from that world is much cuter. He's better than my foolish grandson!"
(Original) Luffy: "....."
Training Begins
After saying goodbye to Shanks, little Luffy headed toward the mountain.
Watching him from a distance, Garp looked worried.
"What if he changes his mind? Maybe I should just make him join the Marines now..."
After all, it wasn't easy to convince Luffy.
Ron, sipping from his thermos, simply asked, "Do you want a responsible Marine Admiral or just a good Marine soldier?"
Garp answered instantly, "A Marine Admiral, of course!"
"Then listen to me," Ron said.
"But..." Garp hesitated.
"Do you want to train him, or do you want me to train him?" Ron smiled knowingly. He understood Garp's fears.
Garp didn't even need to think. "Of course, you'll train him, Political Commissar!"
But just as their conversation continued, the screen paused.
Then, the image changed.
A new title appeared:
"Garp's Teaching vs. Ron's Teaching"
Then another line:
"Now playing: Garp's teaching method."
Garp's Training Method
The scene shifted.
It was little Luffy again—this time, he was wearing Shanks' straw hat.
Time skipped forward.
Garp was leading Luffy up a mountain.
"Grandpa, where are we going?" Luffy asked curiously.
"You can't stay in the village forever. You're always hanging around pirates," Garp replied casually.
"Starting today, I'm going to train you into an outstanding Marine!"
"I don't want to be a Marine! I want to be a pirate!" Luffy stubbornly declared.
BAM!
Garp punched him on the head.
A large bump immediately formed.
"Ow! But I'm a rubber man—why does it still hurt?"
"Because it's the Fist of Love!" Garp laughed.
Luffy clutched his head, on the verge of tears.
"What are we training today?" he whined.
"Today's training? I'm throwing you off a cliff."
Luffy: "???"
(Original) Sengoku: "Garp, are you serious?"
(Original) Garp: "Hahaha! Of course! My training method is far superior to Ron's! Only my method can create excellent Marines!"
(Original) Sengoku: "...Do you want to see what your grandson is like now and say that again?"
People in both worlds were speechless.
Was this training?
Or attempted murder?

Final Thoughts
Ron's approach emphasized responsibility, discipline, and moral principles. He encouraged Luffy to become a Marine through values and reasoning.
Garp, on the other hand, relied on extreme physical training, often bordering on absurdity.
While both methods had their merits, the contrast was stark.
One thing was certain—Luffy's journey, no matter which world he was in, would be full of surprises.
