Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Forget It.

Chapter 48: Forget It.

Seeing two of the top ranked Titled Douluo about to spar, Zhao Wuji and Flender widened their eyes, staring intently at the two figures. As Soul Sages, they were still far from reaching the level of a Titled Douluo. If they could witness such a battle firsthand, perhaps they might gain some insights.

Of course, the more likely outcome was that they wouldn't understand a damn thing. After all, if just watching others fight could lead to enlightenment, then all the academies and sects in the world would have already gone bankrupt.

Ultimately, it all depended on a person's talent and comprehension. If you had great perception, you might grasp something from it. If not, then you were just there for the spectacle.

Initially, they expected an earth shattering battle, one that could go down in history as a legendary duel between two peak soul masters.

However, very soon, Flender and Zhao Wuji found themselves blinking in confusion. They exchanged bewildered glances, as if doubting their own eyes.

"Boom!"

"Bang!"

"Boom! Boom! Rumble...!!"

What unfolded before them was not the legendary duel they had anticipated.

Instead, it was a scene that looked like a father beating his son.

The once unrivaled, proud, idolized Haotian Douluo Tang Hao was now pathetically scrambling like a beaten dog. He could only dodge desperately, occasionally rolling across the ground, his body covered in mud, barely managing to avoid the attacks.

His opponent, on the other hand, stood effortlessly in place, not even summoning his martial soul. He simply waved his hand, releasing raw soul power shockwaves, effortlessly shattering every one of Tang Hao's techniques and beating him down like a stray dog.

"This…"

Flender and Zhao Wuji looked at each other, cold sweat trickling down their backs.

Then, as if reaching a mutual understanding, they silently began retreating slowly stepping away from the battlefield.

And why were they doing this?

Because watching Tang Hao get beaten like this… was dangerous.

If they stayed too long and kept watching, what if Tang Hao snapped from embarrassment and decided to kill them to silence them?

No one liked to have their humiliating moments witnessed by others, especially not Tang Hao a man whose shamelessness and ruthlessness were infamous.

After all, this was the same man who, because of a minor dispute, went after a young girl with the intent to kill.

A man like that… Could they really trust that he wouldn't lash out after being utterly humiliated?

"Where's your 'Ring Detonation'?"

"Why haven't you used it yet?"

Once again, Ye Cheng casually flicked his hand, sending another shockwave of pure soul power, blasting Tang Hao through the air. He frowned slightly.

"I heard that you used Haotian Sect's Ring Detonation technique to escape from an Ultimate Douluo," Ye Cheng remarked. "Could it be that those were just exaggerated rumors?"

Tang Hao didn't answer.

Because Ring Detonation wasn't something he could just use carelessly it was a life risking technique.

Once activated, he would enter a weakened state for a long period of time.

Right now, this was just a spar. There was no reason to bet his life on it.

At the same time, deep inside, Tang Hao couldn't help but marvel at the sheer power of twin martial souls.

He had once escaped Qian Daoliu, an Ultimate Douluo, with his Ring Detonation technique.

But compared to that battle, this one…

Ye Cheng was far, far stronger.

Qian Daoliu, with his nine soul rings, was already one of the strongest beings in existence.

But Ye Cheng, with eighteen soul rings, was on a whole different level.

He didn't even need to use any soul skills.

Just raw soul power pressure alone was enough to neutralize every single one of Tang Hao's techniques.

His domain was instantly shattered.

His soul skills crumbled like paper under the sheer weight of Ye Cheng's power.

In front of Ye Cheng, Tang Hao felt like a helpless infant.

The gap between them was just too massive.

After another short exchange

Seeing that Tang Hao stubbornly refused to use Ring Detonation, and was now completely on the defensive, Ye Cheng finally stopped attacking.

At this point, Tang Hao had completely given up.

He wasn't fighting back anymore.

He wasn't counterattacking.

He wasn't even trying to win.

He was just turtling up, waiting for the beating to end.

A complete surrender.

Ye Cheng was speechless.

He had expected at least some resistance.

Even if Tang Hao was no match for him, he thought the man would at least try to fight back, maybe detonate a soul ring or two.

But instead…

He just gave up?

This wasn't just pathetic this was downright disgraceful.

At this point, Ye Cheng started contemplating what to do with Tang Hao.

Should he kill him?

But in reality, Tang Hao had never done anything to him.

Killing him just because he was annoying would make Ye Cheng no different from a ruthless villain.

Should he cripple him?

Again for what reason?

There was no actual conflict between them.

Right now, it would be pointless to cripple Tang Hao.

Would it really be satisfying to bully someone who was already half crippled and broken?

The more Ye Cheng thought about it, the more he realized

Aside from his personal dislike for Tang Hao, there really was no reason for him to do anything to him.

…Forget it.

At least he had beaten the guy down enough to vent some frustration.

That was good enough for now.

Shaking his head, Ye Cheng lost interest.

He didn't even bother to look at Tang Hao again.

Without another word, he turned around and left, disappearing into the distance.

Only after Ye Cheng's figure completely vanished did Tang Hao finally collapse.

His legs gave out, and he fell straight to the ground, sitting in the dirt, gasping for air.

His entire body trembled, his chest rising and falling violently.

It was the look of a man who had barely escaped death.
