Chapter 44: This God Realm Is Just Lame

"So according to the system's notification, that mysterious power attempting to invade this world was completely countered by the system's built in antivirus program." Ye Cheng recalled the alert messages.

"After the system neutralized that power, some residual energy was left behind. The system then absorbed and converted it into energy, increasing the absorption progress of the 'Live Spoiler System' by 8.4%."

"This means… as long as I remain on Douluo Continent, I don't have to worry about the God Realm interfering with me. Their means of affecting this world have likely been completely blocked by the system."

"The only thing I need to watch out for is whether they get pissed off and just brute force their way in, sending a bunch of gods to descend into this world…"

"…I wonder if the system would treat those descending gods as viruses and just delete them. If it does, that'd be perfect I wouldn't have to worry about a thing."

"Though… I doubt that'll happen."

"Still, I don't really need to be too concerned about the God Realm either."

"Because even if those gods do descend…"

"…the system itself doesn't seem to be inside my body. Instead, it exists in some kind of higher dimensional state, similar to the difference between a 2D and 3D world."

"It's bound to me, but it doesn't reside in me. So even if those gods come looking for the source of the anomaly…"

"…they'll never find it. After all, how can a 2D character reach into a 3D world?"

"This means that as long as I don't expose myself as the system's host, I have all the time I need to grow strong enough to dominate the world."

With all this in mind, Ye Cheng came to a clear conclusion.

"Right I cannot let anyone suspect that the system is related to me."

"Thankfully, up until now, I've only released two videos related to myself. That shouldn't be enough to draw too much attention."

"Moving forward, the questions and videos I release must not be about me. I need to divert attention elsewhere."

"It would be way too suspicious if the main focus of every question is always me."

With his thoughts settled, Ye Cheng made his decision.

God Realm

From the outside, the God Realm looked like a massive multicolored sphere, wrapped in swirling divine mist. It appeared both illusory and beautiful.

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it "God Realm Star."

Because in truth, this so called God Realm was nothing more than a planet formed entirely of condensed divine energy.

At this moment, deep within the God Realm Star, in the God Realm Committee Hall…

The Five Great God Kings, who had just unleashed the full power of the God Realm Core, now sat there, their faces deathly pale, as if they had just witnessed something utterly terrifying.

Their eyes were blank, their minds numb as if they had suffered a devastating mental shock.

Simply put

They were completely dumbfounded.

A long silence followed.

Eventually, Shura God was the first to snap out of his daze. He took a shaky breath and nervously glanced at the other four God Kings.

One by one, the others also gradually recovered from their stunned state.

But even as they came back to their senses, their faces remained pale, their expressions grim.

"We… underestimated the power from that unknown Star Domain…" Shura God finally spoke, breaking the silence. His voice was hoarse, and his fingers were still trembling slightly, showing just how shaken he was.

The other four God Kings said nothing.

They looked like broken men, their faith in the universe shattered.

What they had just experienced had completely overturned everything they believed to be true.

For millions of years, the Five Great God Kings had stood at the absolute pinnacle of existence.

They were the remnants of the Creator God's power, the five seeds that had grown over eons, evolving into the supreme rulers of the God Realm.

They controlled the fate of countless worlds.

Their word was law.

They were gods among gods.

Even when faced with an unknown external force, they had absolute confidence that they could handle it.

And yet…

When they unleashed the full power of the God Realm Core to investigate Douluo Continent…

…They had encountered something so terrifying that it instantly shattered their divine authority.

The entire power of the God Realm Core, combined with the strength of five God Kings…

…was nothing more than a fragile soap bubble before that mysterious force.

It was instantly crushed.

There was no resistance.

No struggle.

No fight.

Just pure, absolute powerlessness.

That thing wasn't just on a higher level than them

It was like the difference between a god and an ant.

For the first time in their existence, the Five Great God Kings understood…

…what it felt like to be mortal.

To be weak.

To be completely, utterly insignificant.

"…This time, our loss is catastrophic."

The God of Destruction finally spoke, his voice rough and hollow. His eyes were bloodshot, and his divine essence unstable.

If they hadn't escaped in time, their consciousnesses might have been completely erased by that unfathomable power.

But in exchange for their lives, the God Realm Core had been drained of 99% of its energy.

With such severe depletion, the very foundation of the God Realm had been shaken.

For the foreseeable future, none of them could leave.

They had to remain here, stabilizing the God Realm manually, until the God Realm Core could recover at least 50% of its strength.

Otherwise, at any moment

The entire God Realm could collapse.

"…What about Douluo Continent?" God of Evil finally asked.

That mysterious power was far beyond their ability to fight.

But at the same time, they couldn't just ignore it.

What if Douluo Continent wasn't the only target?

What if that thing's real goal was the entire God Realm?

Losing one mortal world wasn't a big deal.

But losing their entire divine domain?

Absolutely unacceptable.

"…Perhaps we should send some low ranking divine officials to investigate?" suggested the Goddess of Life.

"…Agreed."

The other four God Kings nodded.

They weren't about to risk themselves again

But a bunch of expendable minor gods?

Who cared if a few hundred of those nobodies died?

Though the God Realm had rules forbidding direct interference with the mortal world, these rules were made by them.

If they broke their own rules, who was going to stop them?

In the face of a potential existential threat, the "law" meant nothing.

And so, the God Realm prepared its next move

Sending low level gods into Douluo Continent…

…to see if they could survive.
