Chapter 33 - 33. Declaration of war

Before any of them could speak, a loud scream shook the cave, causing the team to look at Benkó in light blue who was making the sound as a person, who started cursing with a red face.

"Fuck Citar! You could comand to that damned animal of yours, it gave me a heart attack!" He yelled, but the aforementioned only blinked widely.

"I didn't even summon Lynx." He scratched his head when the lynx, with a piece of paper in his mouth, calmly walked over to Razvan, who was kneeling next to Rahul. He placed the paper in front of him and sat down.

"They send it to you." He said simply, then turned into a mist.

"Citar..." Suk began, and the Bolacsuk boy raised his hands.

"I don't have any fucking idea, what the Fene was that."/He defended himself.

"What could this be?" Razvan touched the paper, not even bothering with the quarreling team. But before he could, someone spoke.

"Sound catching talisman." Mo Ching blinked widely, and his eyes were fixed on the paper.

"What is that Master Mo?" Teveli inquired curiously.

"It's like a letter, only when you receive it you don't see writing, but hear the message in the sender's voice. Only very high level people can use it." The man explained.

"How high level are we talking?" Wandi asked with a serious look.

"According to your system, the caster should be somewhere between táltos three and four stars." He stroked the master's beard.

"I wonder what such a strong person could want from me." Razvan pulled lips into a faint smile and finally took hold of the paper, which, however, suddenly flashed in golden color and simply flew out of his hand.

"Before I get to the point. Young sir, thank you for letting me borrow your animal, I should have asked if I could, but I was pressed for time." Citar, to whom this remark was directed, opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

"Then let's get to the point. My weak-minded subordinates said it's appropriate to declare war before you attack someone so here I am. To the only sane group in the land of idiots, tiny hegins and young cultivator, I hereby announce that I will soon occupy the palm-sized piece of land you call home. Greetings, the Onegod of the West." The paper finished his rhyme and all the youngsters looked at Rahul.

"What are you staring at me for now?" Rahul looked at them suspiciously.

"Who is the Western Onegod?" Citar tilted his head to the side.

"I don't know just like you. I only heard rumors about him, he is the god, I thought it was just a fairy tale." Rahul frowned.

"Why would a god want to attack people? The gods do not interfere in people's affairs, at most they help them with advice." Teveli scratched his head.

"What?" Rahul blinked widely when Etele appeared next to him out of nowhere.

"The gods of the mountains and the western god are very different. Our gods are rather powerful ancient spirits. The Western god is clearly a man." He explained with a serious face, then stretched out on the ground. "Nowadays, only humans make war."

"What do you mean nowadays?" The chüvigh boy opened his mouth, but his relative had already turned into a fog again.

"Rahul, you know we can't hear what your ghost is saying." Teveli addressed him.

"Sorry, he just said that the Onegod must be a man, and not like your gods. And that nowadays only humans make war." The boy attacked him.

"Oh, that's what surprised you." Razvan chuckled. "I think the team has more to tell you about our customs and stories." He turned smiling to the team, who nodded enthusiastically, except...

"They declared war on us." Whispered Wandi barely audibly, which managed to make the team serious.

"What should we do, boss?" Achilleus asked, biting his lips.

"We don't know what to expect, only that it will come from the west." Razvan grabbed his chin.

"Rahul, can't you predict by chance what that Onegod will do?" Asked Citar, which made everyone look at Rahul expectantly.

"Does this boy look like a prophet to you?" Mo Ching spoke in a serious voice.

"But he can predict the future." Suk objected.

"Really?" Came the question and Rahul took a breath.

"Only for short terms, and insignificant things. I'm not a prophet, I just see things." He shrugged.

"Then we missed this chance. Other ideas?" Benkó put his hands on his hips.

"I know a clan that deals with this, but you can't just visit them. You need a prediction as soon as possible, by the time we get to them it would be a year, at best." Master Mo stroked his beard thoughtfully.

"Where do we get good prophet in such a short time like this?" Suk grimaced and folded his arms.

"There is a rumor in my village that a prophet lives not far from the village." Rahul spoke thoughtfully. "But I don't know if it's true."

"If a prophet is mentioned somewhere, there was a prophet there." Razvan nodded. "The only question is when. How old is this rumor?" He asked Rahul.

"I think it's a few hundred years old." Rahul scratched and his head. And the team made disappointed noises. "However, there is an aunty who always brags that she saw a prophet when she was young. It could have been forty years ago at the most. She tells everyone that the prophet predicted that she would meet her husband, with whom she has been living ever since." The chüvigh boy told.

"Forty years..." Citar was horrified.

"It's not that long for a prophet." Mo Ching put his hands behind his back.

"Even if he's not there anymore, it's the closest place where we can find a prophet or signs of him. If he had been there for a long time, his kí might have left traces." Teveli thought, holding his chin.

"You're right. It's worth a try." Razvan agreed.

"I don't want to spoil anything good, but you know that my home is not a day or two's walk away." Rahul finally got up, and Razvan followed his example by dusting himself off.

"I still have two seven-mile towers from home." Benkó waved.

"I have a simpler solution." Master Mo spoke with a faint smile on his lips, which caused the team to blink in surprise. "Since you passed my tests beyond my expectations, I wanted to give you a reward anyway. This will do just fine." As soon as he finished, he pulled out a roll from the sleeve of his dress, which he twisted, then after a few moments he wound it back and handed it to Razvan.

"With this you will be able to come back inside the Karrabata, you will get close to the great bridge of Delivoghjagh." He explained, and then he approached one of the walls and began to draw strange patterns on it with red powder, which he obtained from a small bottle also pulled from his sleeve.

"What is he doing?" Citar asked Wandi, who was standing next to him, quietly, so as not to disturb the working cultivator.

"It's like a hegin summoning circle, but it has more uses than that." Razvan explained.

"Exactly." Mo Ching clapped his hands together. "If you pass this, you will be at your destination, two of you can pass at the same time, but for it to work, Rahul has to pass in the first round." The aforementioned was about to open his mouth for a question, but the master continued. "I linked my formation to you, just focus on your village and it will be waiting on the other side." He nodded. "You'd better get going, the formation won't last long."

"Are you ready Rahul?" Razvan held out his hand to him, and the chüvigh traveler rolled his eyes.

"We'll get through it even if I'm not." He sighed, then stepped in front of the now glowing pattern drawn on the wall and took Razvan's hand. "If I die you will come with me." He took a deep breath, then looked over his shoulder at the team. "Come on guys, I'll show you where I live." With that, with Razvan by his side, he took a step forward straight through the pattern drawn on the wall.
