Chapter 16 - 16. Athamana plus one

In the mountains of the Karrabata, after Mo Ching and Rahul left, the Athamana team was left alone with a cup of wine each, sitting in silence and surprise. For a while no one spoke, the fact that the highly esteemed Master Chá took their newbie just like that surprised them all.

"Did they really leave us here?" Suk blinked in front of him, who was the first to break the long minutes of silence.

"They did. It's not fair, we have been suffering for so long that Master Chá whould pay attention to us." Achilleus sighed with feigned despair and even closed his eyes for effect.

"Maybe, if you didn't always damage his trees, he would have accepted you." Razvan spoke, then took a drink of his wine.

"But, boss!" Everyone snorted at the same time.

"You told us to do this." Benkó put his fisted hands on his hips and looked sullenly at the boy, who just smiled while holding his cup in front of his mouth.

"I never said that it will work." He declared, with which he managed to get the team to open their mouths. Their leader is not exactly known for his sense of humor, so one such occasion always shakes the team.

"Anyway boss, shouldn't we give Rahul the code to our communication system?" Citar spoke up suddenly, as if he had just randomly remembered something.

"No." Razvan became serious and put the cup on the table.

"But he's almost a team member!" Suk also snorted.

"Still no." The leader announced.

"We brought him to Master Chá." Wandi pointed out the fact that they all knew was of great importance. The team always made sure that no one could ever follow them into the chán man's home. Now, however, Rahul followed them without a problem, and what's more, their boss didn't say with a word that he couldn't come, on the contrary, he brought him up to the rock himself.

"I don't trust him." Razvan turned his head away from the team.

"You don't trust him , bullshit." Achilleus hit the table, causing everyone to look at him in surprise. Although the Motumisz boy is quite a fiery type, he does not usually openly oppose their leader. "Don't lie boss, even the peeing boy can see how you look at him! I would put my neck on it that if you could you would have alread..." Here he grimaced and turned his head. "You know! I don't need to explain. Privacy is your own business." He shighed.

"Achilleus is right, boss." Teveli, the team's conciliatory judge, intervened. "You may not trust Rahul, but don't try to deny that you are not interested. Not in front of us." The boy lowered his head.

"He came from the west." Razvan's hands clenched into fists.

"And? Master Mo knew his parents, even though he were brought up by Chüvighs, he is in Hegin." Benkó put his elbows on the table.

"Do you like him that much?" Razvan looked surprised at his team, who all nodded. "I'm not surprised, he's really special." He closed his eyes. "So be it, I'll talk to Master Mo and then I'll decide." He nodded.

"Speaking of Master Mo. What should we do now until he comes back?" Citar groaned.

"Count ants." Suk rolled his eyes.

"Motherfucker!" The Bolacsuk boy growled at him. "I'd rather look at the clouds." He spread out on the ground.

"Bullshit! Behave, you're next to a table!" Benkó said too.

"You too, but you lean on elbow as if you were drunk." Citar stood up for himself

"Do you want me to beat you?" The other palmed his hand on the table.

"I bet at Citar." Achilleus raised his hand.

"I'll cut you up, dirt brain!" He flashed his teeth.

"Enough already!" Teveli raised his voice. "Citar, sit up. Benkó, let off the steam. That's it." He nodded when the two boys did what he asked them to do. "Let's all calm down now. You don't want Master Mo to get any more salty. But if you keep going, he will be, right master?" He asked smiling and staring into the distance. The team turned at the same time in the direction where he was looking and they actually saw the mentioned person, who just nodded.

"Master, where did you leave Rahul?" Citar spoke in a worried voice.

"He's studying." The chán man declared. "Let me guess you want to stay here for the night, like every year." He looked at them, and the team members smiled widely at him. "You know where the bedroom is. Go, pack it out. Dinner in an hour." The man gave the order, and the Athamanas, with the exception of their leader, started towards the house.

"Master Mo, is Rahul also having dinner with us?" Citar stopped next to the man.

"No, but don't worry, I left him food." The master waved, indicating that he would not reveal more to the boy, who, kept his mouth shut, followed the team into the dormitory

"You wanted to talk to me, didn't you Razvan?" Master Mo asked the boy sitting at the table, but he had already moved on. He didn't look back to see if he was being followed, but Razvan didn't wait, he was right behind the man. So the two of them went to the kitchen of the small house.

"Yes, master." Razvan finally spoke after much thought. "The Athamanas want to take Rahul into our team." He started and sighed heavily. "But I have a bad feeling about him. He's hiding something, I just don't know what. Do you think I can trust him?" He asked with honest eyes, which made his face look five years younger. Now there was no sign of the confident leader, the person standing in front of the Chán Mo Ching was a lost child.

"If I only knew his father, I would tell you not to think of it." The master chuckled, which managed to surprise Razvan. "His father was a real troublemaker and used all means to achieve what he wanted." He shook his head and smiled kindly, like when a father talks about his only son. "His mother, on the other hand..." Here the master thought. "Loyalty came before everything to her." He finished the sentence. "Rahul is more like her in this. He inherited his father's temperament, but his mother's morals." Master Mo turned to Razvan. "If he hides something from you, then he has a good reason and when the time comes he will share it with you."

"How can you be so sure of this?" Razvan's voice stopped as he turned his head.

"Trust such an old fox." The master put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Rahul doesn't want to harm your team. Neither you." He smiled at the boy, who faintly returned the gesture.

"Then I will give him a chance, as the team wanted." Razvan nodded to confirm himself.

"Right, that's how you should approach it." The master clapped his hands. "Would you like to help?" He asked and gestured towards the prepared ingredients.

"I don't promise to be a big help, but I'll do everything I can." The leader of the Athamanas bowed in front of the chán man and then stepped next to him. "Where do we start?"
