Not far from the Ninja Academy, in front of a residential building, Veigar Koshima suddenly appeared at the entrance, having used the Teleportation Jutsu to travel there.
Looking at the closed door, Veigar pressed the doorbell.
"Who is it?"
Hearing the voice of Tomohisa Ishikawa from inside, Veigar immediately responded, "Tomohisa-sensei, it's me."
"Veigar?"
Before long, Tomohisa Ishikawa opened the door, looking at Veigar outside. "Veigar, what brings you here? Come in."
Following behind his teacher into the house, Veigar accepted a glass of water from Tomohisa Ishikawa before being asked, "What brings you to visit me today? Do you need something?"
Veigar replied, "Sensei, I have some questions about my training that I'd like to ask you about. Please help me."
Without hesitation, Tomohisa Ishikawa agreed. "No problem. Tell me what's on your mind, and I'll see if I can help."
Raising his head, Veigar asked, "Sensei, do you know how to train chakra control?"
Seeing Veigar's eager expression, Tomohisa Ishikawa thought for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I do."
Veigar earnestly requested, "Then please teach me how to train my chakra control. I'm counting on you!"
In truth, Veigar already knew how to train chakra control. However, he couldn't reveal this knowledge, as he was just a commoner without any clan background. He needed a legitimate reason to explain his ability to train chakra control, and Tomohisa Ishikawa was the perfect excuse.
Only by doing this could he avoid unwanted attention.
Seeing Veigar's sincerity, Tomohisa Ishikawa seemed to hesitate before asking, "I can teach you, but tell me first—where did you learn that chakra control could be trained and improved?"
Veigar immediately answered, "Sensei, haven't you read the training notes my father left behind? It was mentioned there. Precise chakra control not only enhances the speed of the Teleportation Jutsu but also makes learning other ninjutsu easier."
Scratching his head in slight embarrassment, Tomohisa Ishikawa responded, "Was that mentioned? Well, in that case, I'll teach you how to train chakra control."
Had Veigar been born into a shinobi clan or had any kind of background, training chakra control wouldn't have been this complicated. But he had none of that—so he could only rely on himself.
Using his foreknowledge, he would lay a solid foundation and become stronger as quickly as possible.
By the river where he usually trained, Tomohisa Ishikawa said to Veigar, "Training chakra control is actually very simple."
"And that is—tree climbing."
Feigning confusion, Veigar asked, "Tree climbing? Isn't that just a basic skill?"
Shaking his head, Tomohisa Ishikawa explained, "It's different. Let me show you. Watch carefully!"
Standing beneath a large tree, Tomohisa Ishikawa took a step forward and, using only his feet, began walking up the tree vertically.
A moment later, hanging upside down from a branch, he called down to Veigar, "This is what I mean by tree climbing. Once you can do this, you'll have completed half of your chakra control training."
Having achieved his goal, Veigar didn't react with much excitement. Instead, he continued to ask, "Half? What's the other half?"
Tomohisa Ishikawa answered, "The other half is water-walking."
After explaining the key principles behind tree climbing, Veigar immediately began his training.
"Seal."
Gathering chakra to the soles of his feet and gripping his ninjatō, Veigar attempted his first tree climb.
However, he barely managed two steps before falling off.
Watching from the side, Tomohisa advised, "At the beginning, you can take a running start. It'll help you get used to the sensation of stepping on the tree."
Veigar turned back and nodded. "Understood. Thank you, Sensei."
A week passed since Veigar began training. Through constant effort, he had finally managed to hang upside down on the tree.
He noticed that after this period of training, both his fundamental Three Basic Jutsu and Teleportation Jutsu had significantly improved.
In the blink of an eye, two months of vacation had passed, and tomorrow marked the beginning of a new term at the Ninja Academy.
During these nearly two months of focused training, Veigar had not only mastered standing on water but had even started practicing his kenjutsu while balancing on the water's surface.
Multitasking.
As the sun set, Veigar prepared to train in the Human Body Enhancement Technique left behind by Takaaki Koshima before the new term began.
Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Veigar closed his eyes and began extracting chakra from his body.
The Human Body Enhancement Technique relied on chakra to strengthen the physique. However, chakra itself was extracted from the body's cells.
Theoretically, chakra and the Human Body Enhancement Technique were fundamentally at odds with each other.
Yet the genius of the technique lay in the fact that extracted chakra could not be permanently stored.
For anyone, unused chakra would gradually dissipate—unless they had special chakra-storing jutsu or ninja tools.
As far as Veigar knew, the Yin Seal was one such technique that allowed chakra storage.
"Bind."
With a soft exhale, Veigar opened his eyes, and the chakra that had been leaking from his body suddenly became restrained, forming a faint layer around him like a second skin.
"Boom."
However, in the next moment, the chakra layer burst like a balloon, sending Veigar flying onto his bed.
Slowly sitting up, Veigar began analyzing his failure.
His chakra control was still insufficient, and he was losing too much extracted chakra…
Having grown accustomed to initial failures in ninjutsu training, Veigar reflected on his mistakes before starting another round of practice.
As he fell into deeper training, a concern crept into his mind.
At his current level of chakra control, practicing the Human Body Enhancement Technique was still a bit premature. He needed even finer control over his chakra.
After all, forming a chakra cloak around himself was merely the first step in learning the Human Body Enhancement Technique.
