Chapter 38 - Chapter 34: Why Does Gojo Speak?!

The tryout process for the new Guardians of the Globe was finally over, and the GDA facility's main room buzzed with a mix of excitement and nerves.

The heroes who'd made it through, some bruised, others still catching their breath, stood where they'd started hours ago, gathered in a loose crowd facing Robot.

Well, not everyone was standing. A few, like Rex Splode and a handful of other tryouts who'd taken rough beatings, were laid up in the GDA's medical ward, getting patched up for busted bones or worse.

The reinforced battle room behind them bore fresh scars, dents in the walls, scorched patches on the floor, from all the fights that had gone down.

Gojo lounged among the group, sunglasses glinting as he leaned against a pillar, looking as chill as if he'd just watched a movie, not flattened Rex in front of everyone.

Mark stood nearby, arms crossed, glancing at the others, Bulletproof, a wiry telekinetic, a guy with stone skin, all waiting for Robot's big announcement.

Atom Eve was there too, but in the sideline like mark in the viewing area, her face quiet but sharp, like she was sizing up the crowd even after saying no to the team. Gojo caught her eye for a second, then turned back to Robot, who stood at the front, ready to call the shots.

….

A little earlier, after Gojo's match, Robot had pulled him aside, his glowing eyes steady but curious behind his black glasses. "Why didn't you heal Rex after your fight?" he'd asked, voice calm, no judgment, just wanting to understand.

Gojo had frozen, staring blankly at Robot for a full ten seconds, his mind blank, like he'd genuinely forgotten something.

'Heal him? Huh,' he'd thought, then shrugged it off. If it slipped his mind, maybe it wasn't a big deal. 'Not like it's my job to fix every bruise,' he'd mused, quoting his own laid-back logic.

Robot stood still, and then breaking the silence. "Is there something on my face?" he asked, his tone flat but with a hint of confusion.

Gojo snapped out of it, sliding his sunglasses up from his nose with a grin. "Nah, you wouldn't believe me if I told you the reason," he said, voice light, teasing.

Robot didn't blink. "You can say anything, Gojo. I'll listen."

Gojo chuckled, shrugging like it was nothing. "Alright, fine, I just forgot." His tone was so casual it almost sounded like a joke, but he meant it, tossing it out with that nonchalant vibe that drove people nuts.

Robot opened his mouth to push back, maybe to ask how someone forgets to heal a guy they just wrecked, but Gojo cut him off, waving a hand.

"Huh! Just kidding… Look, it's not like I can magically fix everything. I can patch up small stuff, cuts, bruises, no problem. But broken bones? Internal bleeding? That's a bit much. Last time I helped Rex, he just had some scrapes, nothing serious, no busted arms or blood gushing inside. Totally different deal than this time, like I just said I got a bit excited in there."

It was half-true, enough to shut down the chat. Truth was, Gojo could heal pretty much anything, Reverse Cursed Technique was no joke, especially with his half-curse edge, but he wasn't about to advertise it.

If he started fixing every injury, the GDA would slap a nurse badge on him, calling him for every stubbed toe. 'No thanks,' he thought. 'I'm not running a clinic.'

Robot processed it, then nodded. "I understand," he said simply, and moved on, calling the next match without missing a beat.

….

Now, here they were, tryouts done, everyone waiting for the verdict. Robot stood tall, his metal frame catching the light as he scanned the crowd, ready to announce the new Guardians lineup.

Gojo shifted his weight, smirking to himself. He didn't care much about the pomp and circumstance, his spot was locked, and he knew it, who'd join him alongside.

Bulletproof; the guy had tanked hits like a pro in his match against his opponent and even finished the match swiftly.

Others? They all took their sweet time. The telekinetic had speed but flinched under pressure. Stone-skin guy was tough but slow.

Robot raised a hand, silencing the low chatter. "Thank you all for participating," he started, voice clear, carrying across the room. "The Guardians of the Globe require strength, skill, and trust. After evaluating today's performances, I've selected the initial members who will be joining the new Guardians team." The crowd held its breath, some leaning forward, others clenching fists.

Robot let the silence stretch, a suspenseful pause that made everyone hold their breath, then finally spoke, his voice clear and steady. "The new Guardians of the Globe are as follows: Gojo Satoru, Shrinking Rae, Dupli-Kate, Atom Eve."

Gojo smirked, catching a few surprised glances, nobody had expected Eve on the list.

'Oh, right, forgot to mention,' he thought, chuckling to himself. During the tryouts, while punches were flying and heroes were scrapping, he'd went to Eve side for a quick chat.

She'd been set on skipping the team, still stinging from Rex and Dupli-Kate's betrayal, but Gojo had a way of nudging people.

"C'mon, Eve, you're too good to sit this out," he'd said, all easy charm. "This team needs someone sharp, someone like you. Don't let those two clowns hold you back." It took some back-and-forth, but she'd caved, even jumping into the tryouts herself.

"And you could really do something better than someone else who is just about blowing and blowing like their name. Don't let it go to waste because of some douchebags. You know what, I can even help you in getting done with villains quickly and efficiently… believe me. And you don't even know… but to be honest he mostly probably won't even in the team after his performance against me."

And surprisingly he was prepared for another denied response, and then just moved on but… she agreed, Surprisingly enough.

She'd faced off against some knockoff brute, not quite a green Hulk Like macho man cheap knock off of hulk and Johnny Bravo mixed together, but she just closed, tossing him around with her pink energy like it was nothing.

Now, hearing her name, she straightened up in the viewing area, a small nod showing she was ready.

Robot kept going, his voice cutting through the murmurs. "Bulletproof. Black Samson. And, lastly, Monster Girl." The crowd stirred, some faces lit up, others sank.

Rex got exclude from the team. Now that was a big change.

Bulletproof pumped a fist quietly, while the telekinetic guy from earlier slumped, knowing he'd missed the cut. Mark raised an eyebrow at Gojo, muttering, "It changed huh? Guess my teaching to Rex didn't go to waste." Gojo just shrugged, smirking.

The list was solid, Shrinking Rae's size tricks, Dupli-Kate's clones, Eve's power, Bulletproof's toughness, Samson's grit, Monster Girl's strength. And him?

And he doesn't really know who would be better while there are many, he didn't interfere in the selection process that much.

What cracked Gojo up, thinking back, was how absurd he'd looked during the tryouts. No cape, no flashy suit, just his usual loose white shirt and dark pants, sunglasses perched on his nose.

When he'd fought Rex, he might've passed for a random guy off the street if not for the way he moved, dodging discs like a ghost, smacking Rex down without breaking a sweat.

Most heroes here rocked bright costumes or armor, but Gojo? He'd stuck to his casual vibe, and it worked. Robot had pulled him aside after, suggesting a proper hero outfit.

"A uniform could could help you better like their durability and even hiding your identity," he'd said, all serious.

Gojo waved it off, grinning. "I'm good, man, I've got something in mind." He didn't need spandex or a logo.

His jujutsu sorcerer uniform, black, sleek, practical, was plenty cool, and he'd rock it starting tomorrow for missions. Weekends, though? He'd stick to his shirts and shades, way comfier.

Robot raised a hand, silencing the chatter. "Congratulations to all new members, welcome to the Guardians of the Globe." His voice carried a weight, like he was sealing a promise.

"Thank you all for taking the time to come here today. Your effort matters. We'll make a public announcement about this new team very soon."

The room broke into claps and murmurs, some heroes cheering, others slipping out quietly, dreams dashed.

Bulletproof went to Gojo, a quick thank you as he said, "Thanks man, I can't really repay you pr thank you enough for what you did for me. I mean it is every hero's dream to get into the Guardians of the globe team… and guess what, thanks to you… I'm on that."

Bulletproof then went to hug Gojo but Gojo stepped aside and said, "I know you are happy but, I'm not into kissing or anything, I'm not like that."

"The fuck, I was just going for a hug… but damn it just forget it."

"Oh! Sorry then but to let you know I'm not that much into hugging too."

"Yeah, yeah! And for a reminder I'm straight too."

Just Gojo and him talking is like a ticking bomb for some people, no-one knows what weird or absurd things gojo is gonna say next or something else.

…..

A/N: Tryouts are over it was really hard to write this one than the other chapters. But oh well it is finished next is… 'I dont literally know what'

Q:- And I'm thinking of a future arc where different Gojo meets different versions of Gojo, it is nothing but a small idea, It is Not really confirmed that I would even do it but just a small thing in my mind… nothing else.

Though I wont really do it as multiverses things if not done correctly messed up the whole thing completely.

But If I decided to do it I would just firstly try a one shot of that and nothing else for a try.
