Kairodo savagely slashed with both his blades, cleaving apart the charging rhino made of sword energy. He brutally forced his way through the dissipated energy, charging forward with astonishing speed, and unleashed a downward slash.
Kairodo was a power-type fighter. This downward slash was heavy and forceful, filled with domineering power, and carrying a fierce gale. Bege swiftly dodged Kairodo's ferocious attack. However, Kairodo's other massive scimitar followed immediately with a horizontal slash, even faster than the first. This was one of Kairodo's signature moves: a lightning-fast secondary slash that served as the true killing blow, often catching opponents off guard.
Bege's pupils contracted. He hurriedly raised his sword to block.
Bang! The tremendous force of the slash sent Bege flying, the impact even numbing his hands.
"Such power," Bege muttered, his expression darkening slightly.
"Haha... Few can evade my Double-Kill Slash! Kid, you're getting me excited! Hahaha! Again!" Kairodo's bloodthirsty eyes gleamed. He roared excitedly and charged again.
"Ichi Gorilla!"
"Ni Gorilla!"
"San Gorilla!"
Bege's arms rapidly clashed together three times in succession. His arms bulged, resembling those of a bear, the veins popping out.
Boom! A deafening crash echoed as Bege and Kairodo collided head-on, neither giving an inch. Kairodo mercilessly swung his other blade down.
Bege instantly raised his sword to block. Kairodo's two scimitars rained down on Bege like a furious storm, as if he were chopping vegetables. Bege responded with equally rapid and dense sword strikes, parrying all of Kairodo's attacks.
The two exchanged blows intensely for two minutes. Kairodo was unable to break through Bege's tight defense.
"Get out of my way!"
"Exploding Slash!"
Kairodo grew increasingly enraged, more and more blood vessels appearing in his eyes. He suddenly raised his giant scimitar high above his head and brought it crashing down on Bege's longsword.
Astonishing power surged from the longsword into Bege's body. A fierce gust of wind exploded outward from the point of impact. Bege was thrown back seven or eight meters by the brutal blow.
"Roar...!"
Having successfully sent Bege flying, Kairodo roared in triumph, venting his previous frustration.
"An interesting slash."
Bege quickly regained his footing, glancing at his hand. The web between his thumb and index finger had split, and blood was trickling out. His eyes suddenly turned sharp and fierce, and he unleashed an aura even more savage and brutal than Kairodo's.
"A rampaging beast, huh? Now, taste my beastly attack!"
Simultaneously, Bege crouched low, like a predator stalking its prey.
"Soru!"
Bege's figure vanished instantly, appearing before Kairodo in a flash.
"One Sword Style – Leopard Shadow Flash!"
Kairodo's eyes widened. He quickly brought both scimitars in front of him to block. The next instant, a loud clang rang out. Kairodo grunted and took a step back.
Bege appeared behind him. Bege frowned, his figure vanishing again. Another Leopard Shadow Flash, but Kairodo blocked it again.
Several consecutive, lightning-fast Leopard Shadow Flashes were all blocked by Kairodo.
"Observation Haki? No, it's not Haki. It's a beast's perception, a beast's intuitive sense of danger that's allowing him to block my Leopard Shadow Flash," Bege mused, frowning. He had awakened Observation Haki, which allowed him to determine that Kairodo's ability to repeatedly block his attacks wasn't due to Observation Haki, but rather a rare, intuitive, beast-like sense.
In the perilous jungle, wild animals often possessed a heightened sense of danger, a peculiar ability developed through countless battles and dangerous situations. It was a very mysterious ability.
"Stop dodging like a coward! Fight me head-on!" Kairodo roared.
"As you wish." Bege straightened up, his savage aura growing even stronger. He took a step, instantly appearing before Kairodo.
"Great Buddha Slash!"
Bege mercilessly slashed downwards. A three-meter-long blade of energy descended from the sky. Kairodo's expression changed drastically, and he quickly raised both scimitars to block.
Bang!
Explosive power slammed into his blades, then surged into his arms and body. Kairodo was sent flying, smashing through a massive boulder behind him and tumbling another thirty or forty meters before coming to a stop.
Kairodo, lying on the ground, abruptly raised his head, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His gaze was fierce, savage, and filled with madness.
"You're the first to take my Great Buddha Slash and only suffer minor injuries," Bege said, surprised, looking at Kairodo.
Kairodo climbed to his feet. The brief exchange had made him realize that this bounty hunter was incredibly strong. If he wasn't careful, things could really go south.
He had to risk his life if he wanted any chance of escaping!
Kairodo's gaze became sharp and focused, the blood vessels in his eyes even more prominent. He scanned the battlefield, and his expression grew even heavier. He saw that his own pirate crew's battle had also reached a stalemate.
Even his First Mate, Abby, who was second only to him in strength, was locked in a desperate struggle. He knew he was on his own this time; he had to go all out and defeat this opponent.
"You're strong, indeed, but don't underestimate me!"
Kairodo roared like thunder, unleashing his full combat power. Every step he took caused the ground to tremble and crack, leaving a crater. This was raw, unadulterated power.
"Kill!"
Kairodo shattered the ground with brute force, gaining incredible speed. He charged straight at Bege, arriving before him in an instant. Then, raising both scimitars high, he suddenly lunged forward, actually lifting off the ground.
"Scimitar Technique – Death Roll!"
His body began to spin rapidly in mid-air, his two giant blades transforming into the sharpest of drills.
"One Sword Style – Rhino Charge!"
Bege thrust his sword forward, unleashing a massive rhino-shaped wave of sword energy. But it was instantly crushed by the spinning scimitar drill.
"Such strong impact!"
Bege's eyes narrowed. Then, his gaze turned ferocious. He took a step forward, gripped his longsword with both hands, and a phantom black demonic ape appeared behind him, roaring and howling.
"One Sword Style – Demon Ape Slash!"
Bege took a step and brought his longsword down with all his might. The terrifying slash collided head-on with the incoming spinning figure.
Boom!
A deafening explosion erupted, and a powerful shockwave spread outward. Then came the sound of shattering metal, kaka, as countless metal fragments flew in all directions. Following that, a massive green figure was sent flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground.
Kairodo had failed to block Bege's strongest slash. A massive gash had been carved into his chest, tearing through his tough scales. Crimson blood spurted out.
Kairodo, clutching two shattered scimitars, struggled to stand, coughing up blood constantly. The blood stained a large area of the ground. He glared at Bege with crimson eyes.
"Who are you? With such strength, why be a bounty hunter? Wouldn't it be better to be a carefree pirate?"
Bege walked up to Kairodo, looking down at him, and said calmly, "A sparrow cannot comprehend the ambition of a swan!"
At that moment, Kairodo suddenly erupted, throwing the two broken blades in his hands.
Bege swung his sword, blocking both broken blades. Kairodo was already upon him, grinning savagely as he swung his fist.
"Die!"
Clang! Kairodo's heavy fist slammed into the longsword, the brute force actually pushing Bege back.
Kairodo roared and charged again.
Swish!
His figure once again vanished from Kairodo's sight. Just then, a fierce gust of wind came from behind his neck, causing him to quickly turn and raise his arms to block.
Boom! Bege's powerful roundhouse kick sent Kairodo flying. Bege landed, then charged forward with a powerful stomp, vanishing with a whoosh and appearing even faster in front of the retreating Kairodo.
"Leopard Shadow Flash!"
An incredibly fast slash struck Kairodo's back, shattering his tough scales and carving a deep wound.
