Chapter 6 - Glimps of Each Other part II

The place instantly got busy after he ended his message delivery.

The superior said it was very important that everything was up to standard.

The decorations, the food, the greeting, the cleanliness..everything. The grand meeting would be bringing everyone from the organisation. And that job fell to us, the lowest rankers, because unlike them, we can be replaced very easily.

Sighing, he murmured softly, "Anything for my mistress," as he continued mopping the floor.

But it was just his nature to fall into daydreaming when doing anything boring.

Personally, I didn't think it was a good idea to do anything in a rush like this. The organization has more than one enemy to look after, especially when such a grand event takes place without earlier notification.

It caused all the individuals inside the organisation to rush their missions, meaning there were no higher-ups to look after the event.

It was like inviting your opponent into your unguarded house. Even the superior earlier, left straight away after giving us all the instructions on what was supposed to be done.

And there was no way the enemy wouldn't hear about this grand event. Sooner or later, I'm sure they're going to start making a mov-

"Mori, stop slacking off! We got other floors to clean too!"

Caught by surprise, he stopped thinking and hastened his cleaning.

*Somewhere around the area of the headquarters...

"We confirmed our information. Let's retreat and inform the superior of this news."

As the man in the black mask was about to move, his shoulder was grabbed by a huge hand that basically covered his entire left shoulder.

A deep voice came from that person.

"Hey, shouldn't this be a great opportunity to attack? There are only the lowest rankers there."

Turning around, he rejected the suggestion.

"We were specifically told to confirm the news only and retreat afterward."

"Blah, blah, blah… Why should we even care about the superior's words?"

A relatively small woman entered the conversation, having half of her face covered by a dark purple mask.

In her left hand was a bow, with a quiver at her side.

"I am sick of hearing the superior's words. They always treat us like disposable pawns... If we manage to destroy one of our enemy's main bases, it will surely get us promoted... Think about it."

He stared at her, then another person entered the conversation. Wearing black armor with two blades on his waist.

"I agree with her… Not to mention, as Grock had said, there shouldn't be any tougher opponents to take us all on."

The pressure was clearly on his shoulders, and with a sigh, he finally spoke.

"Fine... There is truth in your words. But remember, I won't be held responsible for what happens to you guys if you fall in battle."

His back was slapped by the giant man.

"What's there to worry about? We got each other's backs... So, what's the plan, boss?"

The man in the black mask turned to stare at the tall building.

*Night arrives...

Everyone had a tough day today. Preparing such an event in a short period of time wasn't easy. Even though most of my colleagues were resting, I knew some were still working right now.

Taking off his uniform, he entered his bed.

As his eyes shut for a moment, he later opened them again.

"..... My intuition was correct."
