"That was a smooth crossing," Su Xiuyu remarked as he glanced around. "Much better than last time. Turns out the system is way more reliable than a natural wormhole."
He and the others had successfully crossed over, landing in a vast, unrecognizable wilderness. The open expanse made it difficult to tell which world they had arrived in.
After briefly scouting the area, everyone decided to set up camp for the night and explore the surroundings in the morning. Being ever-considerate, Su Xiuyu used Earth Bending to swiftly construct several stone houses.
"Xiu Yu, your Earth Release technique is seriously convenient," Madara praised as he inspected the sturdy structures. "It's almost as versatile as Hashirama's Wood Release."
Su Xiuyu chuckled inwardly but kept his thoughts to himself. He actually knew Wood Release, but he wasn't nearly as proficient with it as he was with Earth Release.
---
The Next Morning
At dawn, the group woke early and set off. As ninjas, their travel speed was impressive. Even Uzumaki Asaoka, the youngest among them, kept pace without difficulty.
Finally, they spotted a distant figure. From the man's modern attire, Su Xiuyu immediately realized they were in a contemporary society.
Wasting no time, he activated his Sharingan and swiftly hypnotized the man, extracting information about this world.
It didn't take long to confirm that they had landed on a version of Earth, albeit one slightly different from Su Xiuyu's past life.
The year was August 1, 2013, and they were in the Southern California wilderness, USA.
Su Xiuyu's eyes narrowed slightly as he processed the information.
"This world is eerily similar to the Earth from my previous life," he muttered. "If I hadn't questioned a government official, I might have thought I'd time-traveled back home."
Turning to the others, he shared his findings.
"I've gathered some basic intel. This place is nothing like the Ninja World. The people here are all ordinary humans—no chakra, no supernatural powers. However, their technology is light-years ahead of the ninja society. We'll need to be cautious."
Madara and Izuna exchanged intrigued glances as Su Xiuyu continued.
"Think of their technology as an advanced version of puppet techniques, but on a massive scale. Here, mortals—not ninjas—are the ones creating and benefiting from it."
He gestured toward the sky.
"Also, they have satellites in space. If necessary, the government here could use them to track us. So, keeping a low profile is essential."
Madara frowned slightly.
"Satellites?" he muttered. "Like a superior version of the Byakugan, but capable of monitoring entire regions?"
His eyes gleamed with interest.
"Xiu Yu, can you bring this satellite technology back to the Ninja World?"
Izuna nodded in agreement.
"If we had that kind of surveillance power, the Uchiha would be unstoppable."
But Su Xiuyu shook his head.
"Even if we somehow snatched one from orbit, it wouldn't work back home," he explained. "The Ninja World lacks the energy sources and technological infrastructure to support it. It's not worth the effort."
Seeing their disappointment, he added firmly, "For now, we need to blend in and avoid unnecessary attention."
After processing the information, Uzumaki Mito suddenly narrowed her eyes.
"Xiu Yu," she said quietly, "you seem awfully familiar with this place. Are you sure this is your first time here?"
Her sharp observation made the others glance at him.
Caught off guard, Su Xiuyu simply shrugged.
"No," he admitted. "It's not my first time in this world."
Though they were curious, they didn't press him for details.
Realizing that their ninja attire was far too conspicuous, Su Xiuyu quickly suggested they use Transformation Jutsu to disguise themselves in modern clothing.
Once they blended in, they made their way toward a large city: San Francisco, USA.
For everyone except Su Xiuyu, the modern world was a fascinating novelty. The gleaming skyscrapers, bustling streets, and the sheer scale of civilization were like nothing they had ever seen.
"Xiu Yu," Uzumaki Mito whispered as she blushed deeply, "why are so many women on the street dressed so... revealingly? Some of them are basically walking around in their underwear!"
Her cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red as she lowered her voice.
Nearby, Asaoka, still a young boy, looked away awkwardly, his face burning with embarrassment.
Su Xiuyu smiled faintly.
"That's just the local custom," he explained casually. "Nothing to worry about."
Still flustered, Mito leaned closer, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered,
"Would you want me to... dress like that?"
Her breath tickled his skin, making him stiffen slightly. His face turned a shade redder than hers.
"W-well, it's not... impossible," he stammered. Then he added with a smirk, "But only for my eyes."
"That's a nice thought!" Mito teased playfully, her cheeks dimpling with mischief.
Meanwhile, Madara and Izuna marveled at the peacefulness of this world.
"So many people, yet no conflict?" Madara mused. "How do they maintain order?"
Seeing their confusion, Su Xiuyu shook his head.
"It's not as peaceful as it seems," he said softly. "This world still has wars—just not as constant or as brutal as in the Ninja World. But yes, on the surface, it's far more stable."
For the next few days, they wandered around San Francisco, enjoying the culture and atmosphere of the new world.
Asaoka was overjoyed by the sights and experiences, running around like an excited child. Mito reveled in her freedom, walking hand-in-hand with Su Xiuyu through the unfamiliar streets.
For once, they weren't clan leaders or warriors—just people enjoying life.
Even Madara and Izuna seemed more relaxed. For the first time in years, they didn't have to worry about Uchiha politics or the fate of their clan.
But their peace was short-lived.
Suddenly, a wave of panic swept through the streets. The crowd surged violently, rushing toward them. People screamed in terror, their faces filled with panic.
The ground trembled violently, sending cracks through the asphalt.
"An earthquake?" Izuna muttered, frowning.
But Su Xiuyu's eyes narrowed sharply.
"No..." he whispered. "This feels more like the tremor of a giant summoning beast."
Without hesitation, they leapt onto nearby buildings, racing toward the source of the commotion.
In the chaos, no one noticed their gravity-defying movements. Only a street camera recorded the anomalies.
From the coastline, a colossal beast with an axe-shaped head emerged, roaring as it tore through San Francisco.
Gunships, helicopters, and fighter jets swarmed the monster, bombarding it with missiles and gunfire. But the attacks barely scratched its thick hide.
The monster swung its massive claws, swatting a fighter jet from the sky like a fly. The Golden Gate Bridge groaned under its weight before collapsing into the sea.
"What kind of summoning beast is this?!" Madara shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Izuna shook his head.
"Brother, that's no summoning beast," he corrected grimly. "It's something far worse."
Su Xiuyu's eyes narrowed. He recognized the creature immediately.
"Axehead," he muttered. "The first Kaiju to invade Earth in the Pacific Rim universe."
-----
The Kaiju were alien invaders that brought unimaginable suffering to the people of this world. If Su Xiuyu remembered correctly, Axehead, the Kaiju that destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge, had caused at least tens of thousands of deaths.
In the end, the military had been completely powerless against the monster. With no other choice, they had resorted to using nuclear bombs to finally bring it down.
But the Kaiju's blood was highly toxic, contaminating both land and sea, leaving the environment permanently scarred. Worse still, the Kaiju's invasion was immediately transmitted back to their masters—the Precursors. These colossal creatures were nothing more than biological weapons, tools designed for large-scale planetary invasion.
"We need to evacuate the civilians first," Su Xiuyu said firmly. "We'll deal with the monster once the area is cleared."
The others immediately agreed. Without hesitation, the group split up to lead the evacuation efforts.
When they encountered blocked passages, they used force to clear the way—whether by smashing through obstacles with Taijutsu or using Earth Release techniques to carve new paths.
It took them several hours to fully evacuate the area. Yet, despite their speed, the casualties were devastating. Even with their efforts, the death toll had already soared past 10,000.
Though they had saved countless lives, Su Xiuyu knew the bitter truth—he wasn't a god. No matter how powerful he was, he couldn't save everyone.
Among the fleeing crowd, a few observant civilians noticed the group's abnormal abilities. However, in the face of chaos and survival, none of them had the presence of mind to question it. Their only thought was escape.
By the time they were safe, many survivors were left homeless, their lives reduced to ruins.
Watching the destruction unfold, Madara frowned deeply.
"Xiu Yu, are you telling me the people of this world can't even handle one of these monsters?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief. "If this keeps happening, won't their world be destroyed?"
Su Xiuyu shook his head.
"It's not that simple. Even in a world with advanced technology, everything has a cost," he explained. "Just like using the Mangekyō Sharingan—it grants you incredible power, but overuse will lead to blindness. Their technology has its own limits and risks."
Seeing Madara's skepticism, Su Xiuyu added, "I know you're doubting their technological strength. That's why this time, we're not going to intervene. Watch and see what their technology is truly capable of. You need to witness the destructive power they're hiding."
Both Madara and Izuna nodded solemnly.
Nearby, Uchiha Fan and Uchiha Dan—who were accompanying the group for the first time—listened quietly. Although they were part of the Uchiha clan, they had never acted alongside Madara and Su Xiuyu before.
Seeing how naturally the group deferred to Su Xiuyu's leadership, they were both surprised and impressed. They had always viewed Madara as the Uchiha clan's pillar, but now they saw that Su Xiuyu commanded equal, if not greater, authority when it came to outside matters.
The two were grateful for the opportunity. This mission allowed them to experience the other world firsthand—a world that, despite its lack of ninjutsu, was just as thrilling and dangerous.
Everyone quickly realized that, except for Su Xiuyu, Madara, and Izuna, they were powerless against such a colossal creature.
Even with their strongest ninjutsu, the Kaiju's massive size and terrifying defense made it nearly invincible.
Uzumaki Mito could temporarily trap the creature with sealing techniques, but it was risky. The Kaiju's sheer size made it difficult to contain for long, and if it escaped, the counterattack would be catastrophic.
Knowing they needed combat experience, Su Xiuyu turned to the younger members.
"Uchiha Fan, Uchiha Dan, and Uzumaki Asaoka," he called out. "You three juniors are up. Izuna, you'll lead the charge. Madara and I will sit this one out and watch you."
The three younger ninjas nodded, their expressions determined.
As they prepared to engage, Madara smirked and turned to Su Xiuyu.
"You're barely older than Dan and Fan, and yet you're calling them 'juniors'? Doesn't that feel a bit shameless?" he teased.
Su Xiuyu shrugged with a grin.
"The wisest one is the teacher, so what do I have to be embarrassed about?" he replied with mock arrogance.
Madara chuckled.
"Honestly, I'm itching to fight too," he admitted. "It's been too long since I've let loose."
Having spent half his life in constant battle, Madara wasn't used to this much downtime. The lack of combat made him restless.
But Su Xiuyu shook his head.
"Not this time. There will be plenty of chances later," he said firmly. "This monster clearly isn't the only one of its kind. You'll get your fight soon enough."
Uchiha Fan and Uchiha Dan were the first to strike, launching the Uchiha clan's signature fire jutsu at Axehead.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Massive flames surged toward the Kaiju, but the fire barely left a scorch mark on its thick, armored hide. The Kaiju completely ignored them and continued rampaging through the city, smashing buildings apart.
Seeing their fire techniques were useless, Izuna called out,
"Switch tactics! Its hide is too thick for Fire Style. Try Wind and Water techniques!"
Uzumaki Asaoka stepped forward, gathering a massive surge of chakra.
"Water Style: Water Severing Wave!"
A high-pressure stream of water shot out, slicing into Axehead's flesh. The attack managed to tear through the surface slightly, but it was like trying to cut through tough leather with a dull knife—there was damage, but not enough.
Seeing this, Izuna and the others immediately followed up.
"Wind Style: Wind Blade Technique!"
The razor-sharp wind cut into the monster's skin, leaving shallow wounds. Though not severe, it was far more effective than the previous fire attacks.
For the first time, Axehead actually felt pain.
Enraged, Axehead roared and turned its attention toward the ninjas. Despite their relatively small size, the group had caused more damage than the entire military bombardment.
"ROAR!"
The Kaiju stomped toward them, its massive feet aiming to crush the tiny "insects" that had dared to wound it.
"Dodge!" Izuna shouted.
Reacting with battlefield instinct, the ninjas immediately retreated, narrowly avoiding being flattened.
Despite their speed, the Kaiju relentlessly pursued them, stomping and smashing the city apart.
---
Meanwhile, the military monitored the battle from their command center.
"Sir, the Kaiju seems to be focused on ground targets—it's ignoring the air force and artillery. Should we continue the assault?"
A grim voice replied,
"Keep firing! Don't hold back. Hit it with everything we've got!"
"But sir, there are still civilians down there—"
"San Francisco is already lost!" the commander barked. "There's no time for compassion. Fire at will! The people on the ground... they're on their own."
As the Kaiju's blood spilled onto the ground, Izuna shouted a warning.
"Be careful! Its blood is slightly corrosive. It's probably toxic—don't let it touch you!"
The battle dragged on, both sides at a stalemate.
The Uchiha pressed on, dodging and attacking, gradually draining their chakra. Only Izuna, thanks to his superior strength, was able to fight without exhaustion.
The Uchiha juniors fought on, their determination unwavering—even as their energy dwindled.
