The expression beneath White Kakashi's mask remained uncertain as he processed the memories extracted by Black Kakashi.
After his father's mission failure, members of a certain organization had deliberately spread rumors throughout the village. And not just ordinary gossip—these were exaggerated, fabricated accounts designed to manipulate public perception.
They made it seem as though Konoha's White Fang had caused an irreparable loss to the village simply because he chose to abandon a mission.
A name surfaced in White Kakashi's mind, making his blood boil with fury.
Shimura Danzō.
Gritting his teeth, his voice was ice-cold as he spoke each word with restrained rage.
"That bastard... he deserves to die."
He clenched his fists, his bloodshot eyes betraying the storm of emotions raging within him.
Danzō had deliberately orchestrated public sentiment. He had forced his father into a corner.
He had driven Sakumo Hatake to his death.
The Why Behind the Betrayal
"I don't get it," Uchiha Obito muttered, scratching his head. "Why would Danzō do something like this? What did he gain from it?"
"It was meant to destroy the reputation of Konoha's White Fang," Black Kakashi replied, his voice grim. "According to the historical records from the Land of Rivers, during the Second Great Ninja War, my father's contributions were immense. His renown even surpassed that of the Legendary Sannin."
White Kakashi nodded, recalling the past.
"When I was a kid, many people believed my father would become the next Hokage," he said, his tone heavy. "But after the mission... everything changed."
His hands clenched tightly at his sides.
Damn Shimura Danzō.
Obito frowned, a strange sense of déjà vu washing over him.
"Doesn't this sound a lot like His Majesty's story?" he pointed out. "In our world, His Majesty also made significant contributions during the war, but later came into conflict with the Third Hokage, Danzō, and the higher-ups."
Different worlds.
Similar betrayals.
Hashirama Senju sighed, disappointment etched onto his face.
"All this... for the position of Hokage?" he muttered, shaking his head.
The younger generations had fallen so low. The title of Hokage, meant to symbolize unity and strength, had been reduced to a reason for treachery.
The Truth Behind the Suicide
"But," Black Kakashi mused, touching his chin in thought, "why did my father in this world commit suicide? Was it really because of public pressure?"
It didn't feel right.
Sakumo Hatake was strong. He wasn't the kind of man who would break so easily.
Could his counterpart in this world have had a weaker mental state?
"Did your father say anything before he died?" Obito asked curiously. "Or leave a note?"
White Kakashi hesitated before shaking his head.
"No," he admitted. "I never saw it coming. I just woke up one morning... and he was gone."
Now, looking back, he found himself plagued with questions.
What had his father been thinking before he died?
Had he suffered alone, tormented by regret?
Had he struggled against the weight of the village's judgment?
A Bold Solution
"You could ask him," Black Kakashi suggested.
White Kakashi blinked.
"…What?"
"Yeah, why not?" Obito agreed.
White Kakashi's breath hitched as realization dawned.
"You're not suggesting the Reanimation Jutsu, are you?!"
The thought alone sent a chill down his spine.
Summoning his father's soul from the afterlife... with a forbidden technique?
"Why not?" Black Kakashi countered. "We're not using him as a tool. We just want to talk to him."
White Kakashi hesitated.
"If you were in his position," Black Kakashi pressed on, "wouldn't you want to see your son one more time?"
Silence fell.
He had no answer.
Because the truth was... he would want to see his father again.
Preparing for the Ritual
"Summoning a soul from the Pure Land requires genetic material," Black Kakashi continued. "We need something from his body. Maybe we can find some hair or skin cells in his old belongings."
White Kakashi exhaled slowly, still wrestling with his emotions.
But in the end, he nodded.
"Alright," he agreed.
If there was even a small chance of understanding his father's final moments, he had to take it.
A Surprising Companion
"You're heading back to Konoha, right?"
A deep, yet relaxed voice interrupted.
Senju Hashirama.
"I've been wanting to visit the Fire Country and Konoha for a while now," Hashirama said, smiling. "Mind if I join you?"
White Kakashi blinked in confusion.
This man…
"Who exactly are you?" he asked warily.
Of the three men he had encountered, this one remained the most mysterious.
Despite everything, he had never introduced himself properly.
Hashirama chuckled, tapping a few buttons on his wrist device.
A moment later, his disguise melted away, revealing his true self.
Long, dark hair.
Familiar, distinctive facial features.
The unmistakable cracks of an Impure World Reincarnation body.
"My name is Senju Hashirama," he said casually. "Formerly, I was the First Hokage of Konoha."
White Kakashi's brain short-circuited.
"You… what?"
Hashirama waved off his shock.
"That was a long time ago," he said, his tone light. "Nowadays, I'm just a regular citizen of the Empire. Or rather... a dead one."
Processing the Impossible
White Kakashi's thoughts spun wildly.
He had assumed these Otherworld people had no moral boundaries, casually using forbidden techniques.
But now…
Now, standing before him, was none other than the founder of Konoha himself—summoned back to life with Impure World Reincarnation!
And what was even crazier?
Hashirama Senju didn't seem to mind.
His presence alone shattered every hesitation Kakashi had left.
If even the First Hokage had no objections to being reanimated...
Could he really deny himself a chance to speak with his father?
A Plan Forms
"In that case," Black Kakashi said, taking charge, "let's split up."
He turned to Hashirama and Obito.
"You two go back to Konoha with White Kakashi," he instructed. "Menma and I will stay behind for now."
White Kakashi frowned.
"What for?"
Black Kakashi's gaze darkened.
"Jiraiya is heading to the Land of Waves," he revealed. "He's investigating something about the Child of Prophecy."
Silence settled over them.
Obito exhaled.
"Things are getting complicated," he muttered.
White Kakashi didn't reply.
Instead, he adjusted his mask, glancing toward the path leading back home.
He had a father to meet.
And he had questions that needed answers.
